  1. I am torn on agreement when it comes to that statement. Comparing Venom (Eddie Brock Alien version) v Deadpool Deadpool is portrayed as a hero while Venom is typically a villain However... Venom benefits from the ASM relationship I do not own a copy of NM98 and I still have a couple of ASM300's I would have to say that Deadpool is the better book to have in the long run as people traditionally celebrate the heroes rather than the villains. I also believe that Deadpool has that cult status that I do not believe Venom actually has. I cannot find the print run on both books... but according to the census: ASM 300 = 13,132 Graded Copies, 678 x 9.8's, 1998 x 9.6's, 2233 x 9.4's. NM98 = 10,056 Graded Copies, 2262 x 9.8's, 2928 x 9.6's, 1755 x 9.4's Strictly going by census numbers, ASM 300 in 9.8 is a better investment than NM98.
  2. Perhaps if they cap it but I have a feeling it is going to lead to more problems than they are used to already dealing with.
  3. I just sold a 9.4 for $365... The book is plentiful... I am happy to take the money as that is a freebie toward part of a new kitchen floor. However... is a 9.4 REALLY worth $365? The book sat at that price for over a year because I said eventually they will make some announcement regarding the character and someone will pull the trigger. They did. Someone pulled the trigger. There are other 9.4's that are asking for more than what I sold my book for now. Is Venom really at Deadpool level ?
  4. I dunno... I have become kind of comfortable with all the hate.
  5. After seeing the announcement from NYCC... I don't know if anyone of us are 'allowed' back at NYCC. There will be no 3 and 4 day passes this year. I usually go for sketches these days. So if the artist is not ready with my sketch by the end of the day he says he will have it, I have to purchase a second ticket ? Whaaaaaa? I am wondering how this will impact pro passes and press passes. I have been fortunate to get my pass through that avenue.
  6. I just want an "all" option again so I can open up someone's thread in it's entirety.
  7. I am more curious as to the collection you put together that caused the 'Time Out'
  8. I am tall so it is difficult for me to get into some of those booths as well at a height of about 6'1"-2" myself. My brother is a smidge below 6'4" so he has some serious issues when it comes to doing anything from going to the movies or attending a ballgame.
  9. Seoul Garden - she said that is where her family goes.
  10. Okay, I will open up my other reason why I want the 'all' button brought back. When shopping in the marketplace I like to hit the 'all' button. That enables the entire thread to open allowing me to see what is still available in one shot instead of clicking page after page to see each offering and if someone has taken it. When I am trying to pick something up, hitting 'all' has allowed me go through the entire thread at once. Without the 'all' button I have not really been shopping around the marketplace. Good for my wallet, bad for the sellers.
  11. Amazing. I don't know what happened. She just started speaking Korean and they brought food. I had no complaints. It was delicious.
  12. NYC was quite a slushy mess. There is nothing like stepping foot on solid ground then bringing your other foot over just to sink into the slush. Cold foot... Did grab some Korean BBQ up on 32nd today though... I let my friend order as she is Korean. She picked and ordered for both of us. That made the cold foot easier to deal with.
  13. Disagree. If a comic is worth a premium raw then it is worth getting slabbed as there is a big difference between the going rate on a 9.2 vs a 9.8. If I am dropping $2000 on a book no matter what year it was printed in, I want to know what the condition is rated as. Your $2000 9.8 could very easily be only worth $1000 in a 9.4.
  14. Most collecting markets support this statement. With Baseball cards it was always the rookie card that deserved the premium. There may be outliers, but people at the end of the day sought out and continue to seek out the rookie card. With Books it is the first printing, not the premium deluxe 50th anniversary leatherbound remarked edition with limited slipcase that usually holds value. I watched it with animation in the early 90's. People wanted limited editions hand painted recreations from Disney rather than go after the original production cels. Their mistake... Of course there are outliers like in every aspect of life. But first appearances usually hold more value over the variant.
  15. I missed them on eBay but there were a bunch of old Marvel pages listed. There have been a few to pop up here and there in the last few months. Hopefully people are cleaning out some of their closets and we will see more stuff become available again. I have not bought a Joe page since last October.
  16. I have stayed away from Eternalcon for the last couple of years as that show sort of... well... meh. However, there is a renewed interest if he is seriously moving the show to the Nassau Coliseum
  17. The item is not removed until the offer is specifically accepted or rejected. I had an offer come in and I countered. While the other buyer was mulling over the counteroffer someone came in and bought it outright. Oh well. I made an offer on something. While the person sent a counteroffer to me, someone else must have offered something that a bit more and the seller accepted. Oh well to me. No item is sold until it is accepted.
  18. https://www.wholesaleforum.com/discuss/toys-4908/takara-transformers-wholesale-sources-japanese-action-toys-distributors-23043/ Thread on that very subject over here. Hope that helps.
  19. I admire those who are able to make a killing off of them. I shake my head at those who are holding onto them for the long term. I only have X disposable income. If I am going to pick up a copy of Ms. Marvel #2 variant as a keeper for my collection, I would rather spend that money on a 75 year old Captain America or Superman or Batman book. That's my personal opinion though.
  20. I might lose my Italian card for this. Snowstorm Chicken Parm Slider. Take chicken, throw on some sauce, garlic powder, munster, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, slice of tomato on a toasted bialy.
  21. Have to add... I was VERY tempted to pull the trigger on a book from Ted at Superworld. Superworld Comics who is also a board member here had a fantastic inventory.
