Another book that was recently scanned.

It satisfies three aspects of my collecting habits: 

1. WWII Era and Cover - It's a great Schomburg cover and as usual, no one seems to know the true size of Namor.
2. Old school loco's 
3. A purple label GA book to be kept in my home for wayward Timely's.   

All GA books have been scanned.  Now working on other books. 

Fare thee well Leonardo 1... Hopefully you make it to the Eastman signing in time... 

I only knew you for an hour.   

So this arrived this afternoon and shipped out immediately to Florida.  A certain someone is a bad influence on me and I have decided to get the first Turtles book I ever bought, (which was in the last CLink auction) signed and remarqued.  As requested for the remarque, "Leonardo, on the back, in the black please, Thanks". 

So... let's see how it turns out.  There is a nice space for some serious drawing opportunity...  IF it gets down there in time.   As of 5:20 is shipped off Long Island for it hopefully 'less than five day journey to Sarasota."

Not all signature series books have to be 9.8's.  There is one Captain America book that I am a big fan of.  Over the years, I have picked up two copies of Cap 109 and an homage to Cap 109.

I think there is a big difference between selling something through auction and consigning it through a dealer.   I have no problem with anyone selling something at auction.  In many cases you will still get more than if you sell your collection directly to a dealer.   Consignment?  I don't trust it as I have personally seen some shadiness.    However consignment, as much as I do not personally trust it or would ever do it, is preferable to direct sale to a dealer.

Now, could I put that book on eBay?  Sure.  If I want to pay more fees, get less eyes, and risk someone trying to scam me.

Sell it yourself is not always the best option.

Fees are about the same on eBay - PayPal is 3%.  For 3% I like to make sure the numbers are right where they should be. 

I have a trust issue on consignment after knowing that someone was once skimming off the top.  If they told you the book sold for $1900 and they were to receive 10%, it was disheartening to find out that they really sold the book for the full $2000, pocketed $100 and then wanted their 10%. 

Do it yourself.   I stand behind that. 

For you maybe it works... if it works... it works. 

For me... do it yourself and when people raise the subject, I am always going to advise them to do the same.   Sell it yourself.  Cut out the middle man at all costs.

Follow me around for a day.  I will show you very busy.  I find the time to list a few here and a few there.  Once it is listed, it is up until I pull it down.  It does not take much effort to box something up when it sells.  Last year, eBay basically paid for my complete bath remodel.   Some people like to sleep while they are on their hour commute into Manhattan.  I wanted to pay for my bathroom.
