  1. I started a thread asking about Aces a few weeks ago but nobody had heard from him. Burntboy is AWOL, too. I don't worry about Harry. When he doesn't post for a while, I just figure he's got better things to do. Harry took some time off, but recently surfaced on the CBCA Board.
  2. I don't. I miss Timulty, the guy Deathlok shamelessly trolled. Yes, Timulty was a very nice guy and an asset to the community. It was shameful the way he was bullied.
  3. Who cares? Move on. I haven't followed the drama and really don't know who said what to who and when. But what I have learned is that life is not fair. You suck it up and move on. If you ever want to move forward here, make your amends, draw a line in the sand and MOVE ON.
  4. Very sage advice from FK and Hockey&Comics guy. Whisp, you'd be wise to follow it and start fresh. Otherwise you will never get past it.
  5. He still unethical, that link i posted proves that that is why I take what he says not to serious. hard to take a lawyer seriously when he has ethics issues. You should really learn not to shoot your mouth off when you have no clue. One stupid article about a traffic stop and you think you know all about Mark and his ethics? Mark has raised a ton of money for comics related causes and provided legal counsel to collectors and dealers pro bono many times over. This is stupid. Just know when to stop.
  6. It's on the docket right after the OJ and Bernie Madoff defamation cases.

  8. Ditto. Look for black powdery color touch.
  9. This revelation adds a whole new level of depth to the mystery. Clearly, someone using Matt Nelson's services for a repro cover is someone familiar with the hobby... and may be known to the community. Your garden variety Craig's List scammer isn't going to Matt Nelson to get his scam bait. It would be interesting if Matt had a customer that requested a repro ASM 1 cover in the area of this seller.
  10. Good advice, however, I'm not sure anything can truly prepare you. When it's someone else's kid and youy have the freedom to go home to a quiet house... it can't begin to compare to when you are really stuck with the little buggers.
  11. Nuff said There is nothing in this world that even comes close too as my kids as they are my life and my sole purpose of living. Ditto. And to answer your question, the hobby will take a backseat. You won't have nearly as much time to read, go online and generally obsess over the collection. You won't have the time, money or energy that you used to have. With a 2 and a half year old and a 6 month old, I am usually whipped by 9 o'clock at night. There's never a rest or chance to recharge... the toddler keeps you running all day, and the baby keeps you up all night. Kids are a life changer in every respect. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  12. I believe we cruised by their booth in Chicago a time or two. Yup we did. Also I saw them in NYC They are at all the Big Apple shows.
  13. Just Jortner. These are two separate entities but Silver Age Comics allows Jortner to sell books in their name through e-bay. I have spoken to Gus, the owner of Silver Age Comics, several times. He is well aware of the issues. Mark, Please clarify where SilverAge currently stands in general as it relates to Jortner. I have been boycotting his auctions (and there have been items I wanted to bid on) since your initial post on the matter months ago. Incidently, I have noticed more than a few of his CGC bronze items sell for less than I expected, or in some cases what I would have bid... so you are making a difference in my view. I assume others have avoided him as well. Ditto. He's had a few books on my want lists and many times has shown up in my daily searches. He had a few tough Actions I really want, but I moved on without giving it a second thought.
  14. Some people -- one of which is now banned -- had a habit of trolling the guy mercilessly. Ian had his issues and idiosynchrosies, but he was an interesting character. Not a bad guy.
  15. A book I've been looking to upgrade for a long time... got a nice deal on an ebay BIN...
  16. Thanks to Turokhunter for lightening fast and super secure slab shipping. Nice transaction.
  17. Yer killing me... great stuff. I've never seen some of those Detectives before...
