Now I know.  But even so, would CGC accept the scan as proof?

They should.  I already shared that in my case, they did.  The only other things you can do are pack them very, very well and minimize the number of people who handle your books.

I find this whole thing hard to follow, but the Nathaniel Richards in those issues is or is not Reed's father? If I am reading everything correctly, his father is named Nathaniel Richards and so is Kang but they may not be the same person, despite recent past Nathaniel traveling to Kang's time?

OK, so Kang is not the 616 Reed's father, but just has the same name (Nathaniel Richards).  Wikipedia says Kang is a possible descendant of RR's father.

FF 272/273 would be the 1st app. of Reed's father Nathaniel.  Marvel Database says this is the 616 Reed's father, although my memory of the story was that it was a different future timeline Nathaniel.  Maybe that NR is the 616 NR, having travelled from the 616 "present" to that future timeline.  Nevertheless it seems to be the first Reed's father from any universe/timeline, which has significance.

It seems to be at about 75-80% of 42. It's probably too early to tell. The one I got is an easy 8.5 and I keep looking it over to see what I must be missing.... but all ad pages are there, doesn't seem to be trimmed, no touch ups, or tear seals.... GOD BLESS....

.. in a way, it's a lot like Hulk 181, with ASM 42 being very similar to Hulk 180, except fandom embraced the opposites.

MJ's intro being diluted over several potential keys makes it difficult to choose the stand out, and not necessarily subject to the Wolverine rule, in my thinking.  I pick 42, 43 essentially being her fourth appearance.

Also, with 42's cover and story, I think it could be valued as a John Jameson key should Man-Wolf's popularity really take off, it being his first cover appearance and therein acquiring a super-powered identity that predates Man-Wolf/Stargod.

If you think some people on the forums are bad, Reddit trolls are even worse lol.

I would recommend having a Private/Invite only community for Reddit. Discord would be good too. Could definitely create sub categories and such for different topics. Plus the live talking system would be good for sellers and facilitators to converse.

An alternate to here was tried once.  Wasn't it called The Comic Book Forum?

  5. I owned 4 different copies of Marvel Family 1 over the last few years and I wouldn't say it is a rare book.  I think you are looking at post-paper drive years and a comic line which was a best seller.  The best I had was a CGC 5.5 I bought raw in a Sunday Heritage auction for $700 and eventually sold to someone here.  Just bought a fifth copy I thought was underpriced.

  6. Just a head's up to the community about an an ebay seller with questionable ethics.

I purchased this book from the seller (ebay username = jokla8196) on the Myslabs platform for $1150 on 6/15 and paid.  On 6/22, had heard nothing so I reached out to seller via email provided in their Myslabs profile.  On 6/26, still nothing so I reached out to Myslabs support, who reached out to seller.  Seller refunded my money later that day, saying he had forgotten the book was on Myslabs and that he "sold it on eBay".  In fact, he listed it in a 10-day auction on 6/21, and it now has 2 days remaining.

Ahh the classic debate… Rama tut was before avengers 8 to my knowledge and rama tut is kang… do we call it first appearance by proxy? Lol

Once, ASM 1 was more valuable than AF 15.  It was all about #1s.

Since the 80s, we've been in "the Age of First Appearances".  Nothing says that can't change or be tweaked, where different versions of the same character (from different timelines, or different points in the same timeline) become more popular/valuable than versions that technically came earlier.

Heck you can even use Thor and Loki as precedents, considering their earlier appearances in 1950s Venus, or even first fulls vs cameos, and 1st in costume vs 1st civilian identity etc.
