What I find hard to understand is how they were all kept unsold for such a long period of time, as those Wonder Woman covers came out years later.

I would think that the worse case scenario is that a lengthy court case ensues and pieces of art from the 60's that are in question, are looked at to ascertain what can be proven to never have been given back to Jack. I see no court that would arbitrarily assign any results on every piece of artwork that Jack drew, especially pieces in the mid to late 70's and 80's which obviously were given back to Jack without question. Best case scenario is that the lawyers decide that this is a colossal waste of time given the amount of time and resources they will need to spend to in essence try to piece together the evidence that they will need, and summarily drop pursuing this. Given that i dont believe Heritage have heard back from the Kirby lawyers since they told them that they wouldn't be playing ball, it looks to me that only the smaller players who dont have a huge legal team at their beck and call, need worry about intimidation.

I was told that Heritage sent a reply back to the letter that was served, asking for proof of stolen art and which ones, to which the Kirby lawyers have not replied (months now). Obviously with no real records having ever been kept and the Kirby estate selling off many of the items directly, we shall see

I'll say - there are about 20 copies up on ebay now with none better than a 4.0/5.0 and still everyone has an asking price over $100. The two that are up for Auction already have almost 60 bids between them. Things should really start to heat up now. That black cover is a real problem. I still can't believe the way that title has bounced back, T.V. series or otherwise. There's a raw 5.0 (nice looking and fairly graded IMHO) that's ending in 4 hours. It has 56 bids already from about 15/16 different bidders who all have between 189 and 4600 feedback. I think this is about a $30 book in guide and it's already at $400 I agree with you Andy - this run has always been a complete afterthought for me. The power of a Movie cannot be overemphasized when looking at value, but it's still the same book after all is said and done... What the heck will Dawn of Justice do to all of the JLA character's books?? Hell, a successful movie will even pump new life into Wonder Woman after 75 years. Purchased from them a couple of years ago and their grading was out by quite a way. Thought maybe they might have tightened up recently, so i ordered another book to test them and if anything their grading is even looser than before.

$45k $35k $28k my prediction $52k $38k $50k (Somehow Doug always seems to get prices that suprise me) Close on the first one: 50,750 With the Pedigree copy ending at $32,657 (reserve not met) it looks like Galactus won 2-1. But in all seriousness, i thought that the Pedigree Copy would do much better. Doug has a way of getting stupid prices on these key issues. Just makes you wonder how little the auction houses actually care about getting the best prices for the consignors, as with 3 copies coming on at the same time there was no way that this was ever going to set new records.

Given what i am seeing with the prices on the lesser grade copies, with 5.0's selling for $1,700 and upwards, isnt his new E-Bay asking price of $2,800 within the realms of possibility ?

Well if the last copy sells for i think it will, it does bode an intresting scenario, where both this and the B+B #28 in comiclink sold for considerably less that the equivalent graded (non upgraded) copies sold for. Has this been repeated elsewhere in the last few months also, as i am not aware of what other key issues have been upgraded.

So this would be the first time Zatarra was reprinted also then, good to know.

Zatanna - Zatarra, surely? The Zatarra starts in issue #779 Sep 23rd 1939 and looks to have run up to issue #784. The story that it reprinted was called Death From the Air, does anyone know where that originaly appeared.

Still crazy at $15.8K given that it sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat at $5K when it was in a 8.0 holder. True, but it sure beats seeing it go for the same price as a real 9.0 copy. The issue will be, will anyone remember this copy was upgraded in 3, 4 or 5 years time. I probably will not and i'm sure others will be the same. If and when it comes up for sale at that time, will the final bid be reflective of the fact that this was an 8.0 copy ?

I'd say the difference is that the book itself is printed as an original,1st run,with only a stamp changing the price.. Where as Marvels were print run seperately for the UK editions,with the plates altered...which seems to make a huge difference in value with Marvel vs. DC UK editions...at least from what i've seen.So this is basicly just a US edition,with a "stamp" on the cover,no different than a US arrival date stamp or such. Thats correct, this is the American version with just a cover stamp, which is why CGC do not deisgnate this as a Pence copy. As regards to Marvel, well they are also all initial print runs, just the price plate was changed, but CGC does note them as Pence copies because of it.

Did this include the Heritage Buyer's Premium? I ask because it's at $23,900.00 (with BP) right now.
