A few TV rumors floating around and books moving because of them Sheltered #1 (Comicsheatingup is saying they overheard Ed Brisson at NYCC saying he had secured a new TV deal) Sonata #1 (Artist Brian Haberlin posted on facebook saying this had recently been optioned as well as the book under it) - There are two regular covers that seem to be selling well and a comicspro ashcan The Marked #1 (Came out this week and according to Brian Haberlin it is also optioned.) There is a one per store "secret" variant that seems to be selling very well. Grass Kings #1 (apparently this title has been acquired by Legendary Entertainment according to Keycollector)

That's weird. Almost as weird as when I got an e-mail this week from instocktrades.com (owned by DCBS) about how the books I ordered weren't in stock and were backordered.

Diamond sent a recall notice to all retailers telling them to destroy any copies they received this week because there was an error with the paper stock. I ordered a few online and they have all been marked as shipped.

I feel like there were way bigger fights in that thread over the last few years and mods would punish the participants and delete the posts.

September 16: Bleeding Cool did an article saying Benji Parker was the main character in the new JJ Abrams Spider-man Comic and that the first appearance was Spider-girl #59. September 21: Bleeding Cool posted an article saying Last Avengers Story #2 features Benji Parker and predated Spider-Girl #59 by ten years.

If this conversation died four years ago when it originally started we would never have hilarious gems like this.

My Brother in law saw it at TIFF. He isn't a critic and I would say he isn't biased. "I feel mixed. I really enjoyed watching it like really entertaining, amazing performance from Joaquin, very dark, but I think it might be stigmatizing to mental health". Take from that what you will.

Three and a half years ago I started doing the Unpressable Defects podcast on youtube and I merged my Jimmy Linguini account that had like 100 subscribers or something with the new UD one. When I did that I lost all of the content. So unless someone saved them or I boot up my old computer they're gone forever.

Yeah the matrix book was recalled because of "adult content" and was never republished. Geoff Darrow did a bunch of the artwork on that comic which is interesting considering he worked on the original matrix films and he's working on the new one as well.

Have you watched the episode of him on Howard Stern? Its amazing. Blind Adam is also amazing. He writes for Comicsheatingup and I love him. He currently has a podcast with Demon Seed Radio which I believe is some kind of porn website. Awesome guy.

They recalled the variants because all of the variants have the same "year of the villains" banner across them (on the bottom) which is why DC claims to be recalling it in the first place. Dan Didio did a video yesterday afternoon and said that stores have to report that they destroyed the copies (working on the honor system) and that DC already has a list of retailers who have offered the books for sale through ebay or their online marketplaces and that DC is working with Diamond to figure out what kind of consequences there can be. This guy in Chicago is apparently offering them one each -

I did a variant for the new Source Point Press title Dead End Kids #1 - It was supposed to be an exclusive cover for the patreon of my podcast but there was a mixup with the logo on the back and now I have half the copies of the original print run. Anyways, Copies are for sale at the following link - $29.99 Each - Limited to 100 copies - 85 copies were Near Mint and 55 were sold in presale - so there are only about 30 left.

For new released and new comic book day this week seems to be all about: - Superman #14 and Supergirl #33. Both recalled by DC because "The covers of both issues ultimately did not reflect the contents of the stores. Replacement copies with new covers will be provided at no cost to retailers.” Whatever that means. Both are selling for $20 to $30 - both have open order Cover B variants - Once and Future #1 from Boom Studios. 6 part mini-series written by Kieron Gillen. Selling for about $10/$12 - already in third printing before the release of the first print. - Also last week's House of X #2 still selling for about $12 to $20 - multiple covers.

This week a few books are coming out that are already selling above cover online. 1. Dead End Kids #1 from Source Point Comics 2. Coffin Bound #1 From Image Comics 3. The Dark Age #1 from Red 5 Comics. There is also a 1 in 10 variant that seems to be selling for around $30 to $40. This book was optioned as a TV series at the end of May so who knows what that really means.
