  2. Just won this on Heritage tonight. Why this insanely hard to find book isn't officially a classic cover, I have no idea. Does anyone know if any other covers reference the internment camps?
  3. Any boarders win the all American okajima? I was the narrow underbidder
  4. http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=38098982
  5. Wow, $43k for the detective 31 in 1.0. $6k for the 37. This felt like another leap for pre-robins.
  6. Wow, this is a strong price for this book. http://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/detective-comics-35-dc-1940-condition-fr/a/7137-93060.s?type=bidnotice-tracked-endofauction
  7. Bumping this for comments on the Tec 36 2.0 with extra staples that sold for over 8k the other day on eBay.
  8. This is why I love the golden age. There are so many amazing covers
  9. here's my copy (raw and subsequently slabbed)
  10. hi, here is a slightly better picture. the date is 6-1-44 and there is a camp code of 3X on the book.
  11. I've had this for a while. Tied for highest graded (I think Verzyl has the other one). I bought it and slabbed it myself. It looks brand new. Sorry about the bad picture.
  12. Hi, Sorry for the bad pictures, but my scanner recently broke. I got this at SDCC and it's tied for the highest graded but with White pages (other has OW/W) and is a camp book.
  13. I am on the train back from SDCC so I can't post a picture right now, but I got my first Okajima today! Sensation Comics #32. It is Cgc 8.5 with White pages and the classic okajima date and name on it! A camp book Tied for highest graded and better pages than the other to boot! Yay
  14. I love that Powerhouse Pepper. One of my favorite books as a kid was The Smithsonian Book of Comic Book Comics. In addition to the Batman, superman, and Captain Marvel origin stories, it had amazing funny animal and EC stories. I remember how sophisticated the Basil Wolverton art looked.
  15. I agree. The seller was also resistant to posting more pictures. I would have gone after a few if I was more confident in what I was getting.
  16. Did any of of buy the 31 or 35 that sold on eBay tonight? Someone got a great deal
  17. That 1.0 is amazing in person. I am in love with it.
  18. Here is my coverless Tec 31. I really like it.
  19. I bought it off of someone on the boards. He told me he was in a secondhand store and found an old comic book and this book was inside it. I think it's eye appeal is way better than the grade. I just got it so I am not sure whether the whole spine is split and the front and back are Detached or whether it is just the front cover that is detached. Even if it is the former, I have seen books grade 1.5 to 1.8. In fact, I own an amazing tec 37 that is the case that is a really nice 1.5 I called cgc and they said that brown does NOT mean slightly brittle or brittle. Here is my other copy. I married this one, no restoration and the book I think got unfairly hit for page quality. I had it as a coverless that was light tan to cream before I married this cover.
  20. !!!!! i have been looking high and low for my dream lower grade copy of this book. This picture doesn't do it justice. The book has amazing gloss and really glows. Thank you to all the boardies who have put up with my pm's over the past two plus years as i have been looking for a copy.
  21. 23 never did it for me. I don't know why, but the cover is a little murky. I know Schomburg didn't do #24, but this is just a great, great cover. Anyway, that's it. I just really enjoyed this little run and appreciate you guys checking it out.
