  1. Are people starting to speculate on the Kree/ Skrull War turning up in the MCU?
  2. Part of me really wants to; another part of me thinks I'm crazy to even think of that. The only thing I'm sure of is I'm going for all the Science Fiction doubles, I'm well over half-way on those. Then again, I do have D-15 already; which is far and away the most famously difficult one. Which is not the same as the actual most difficult one, of course...
  3. Thank you for pointing out the Madman Comics #4; it doesn't perfectly match my specific definition of the set but I naturally want it on its own merits. As for Starslayer, if you're including #2 include #3 as well:
  4. And, of course, my utter inability to resist Ace D-Series books shows up yet again:
  5. A few from a local store today. The Rohmermight be my first book from Graphic:
  6. Just wanted to point out how much Hughes has been knocking the Black Widow covers out of the park on this run. Incredible stuff:
  7. Let's get a better look at that, now that I've got my copy:
  8. The splash page is redrawn from Superboy and the Legion #245; the character on the cover with the funny hat and white beard is Mordru. The Superman figure is swiped from Action Comics #485, not the more famous Superman #233. Beyond that, I've got nothing. (Action cover borrowed from GCD, my copy's in storage.)
  9. Yeah. Make no mistake, his stuff has aged. But no less an authority than Issac Asimov has said that Weinbaum was utterly transformative to the entire genre of SF, and pretty much for Weinbaum's entire life the field was trying to catch up to him.
  10. Weinbaum was an amazing writer, it's a shame his body of work was so tiny before his death. I would love to get the edition you have but this will do for me for now:
  11. Was thinking something along those lines, how much would that be worth if it was a comic rather than a paperback? It's classic Schomburg, that's for sure!
  12. Today's finds. I have a copy of the D-36 already, but it was too cheap to resist and my other copy is in storage at the moment, anyway. I think we've established how little ability I have to resist the Ace D- and S- series in general, anyway:
  13. I've shown these elsewhere on the boards. But they're mostly magazine size, we've been discussing them somewhat in the This Week thread, and it's Halloween weekend, so I'll share them here too. They're Creepy and They're Kooky...
  14. That is an absolute jaw-dropper of a book to have. I've got all the Addams collections in hardcover but none of the original New Yorker issues with his work.
  15. Another of the Bode Warrens... just need the Vampi #4 and an upgrade on the Eerie #27 and I'll be good:
  16. I think so. And what was a very fair price 2 1/2 months ago when we arranged time payments looks like an absolute steal now.
  17. More than one, I assume from your comment you're specifically referring to the Eerie #81 cover. But I'll throw the other two up here as well. I need to upgrade my copy of the novel, and the -script book cover is swiped from the internet, I don't have a copy yet:
  18. Planet Comics #1, 3D Zone #16, and Cheval Noir #7. I'm also not sure exactly which box the Elvira House of Mystery #11, Rocketeer Adventure Magazine #3, and the Eclipse Graphic Novel are in. I'm also being fairly specific in looking for comic book covers where the covers were done for the comics, not repurposed from something else, and pencils only, not inks... I'm trying to keep the effort down to sane levels. Not that I don't have some other items, but they're not on my specific target list.
