We have shamefully allowed this thread to drop to page two.  This is unacceptable.
I shall do what I can to correct the situation for the moment.  In today, the Beetle Bailey 54 is the first King issue:

In today.  Again, calling on my fellow club members to keep us on the front page, we slipped again.  Only need the Mandrake #4 to finish my run:

So, we discussed this a bit in the sales thread, but I though I would create a thread for it here as well.  In @Darwination's recent sales thread, he sold me a copy of Manhunt v1 n1.  The catch being, the splash page image was by Joe Kubert, not Matt Baker.  The other illustrations, all generally attributed to Baker, are the same as the regular edition.  Here's the cover and splash from what is now my copy, as well as the Baker version of the splash grabbed from elsewhere.
Posting this here to see if anybody has ever encountered it or has any information.

I've never seen a "sealed" Treasury or DC Limited book sealed. I have gotten books that were not sealed by the manufacturer, in sealed bags.
As Eric said, the person who had the book before me, sealed it themselves.

Long story on this one. I submitted it to CGC back in 2015 with a large bunch of other Golden Age when I was selling a fair bit of what I had left of Golden Age comics. They put the wrong label on it (for the Charlton U.S. Marines) and I never got around to sending it back in for correction until this month. And my wife says I'm a procrastinator    Anyway I'm gad I didn't since this book is so wicked and I probably would have sold it back then. It's kinda big so they put it in a magazine holder.

Beautiful Skull cover from 1943. $10 in high grade. Might even be racist  A cultural artifact for sure.

There were a bunch of those Postcard books back in the 90's. I have "Love Was Cheap and Life Was High" buried somewhere, one of my sisters gave it to me for Christmas back then

My only gripe about the Venus v2 book is it's a totally different format than the masterworks v1... Different trim size, trade dress, and no dust jacket.  But on its own it's a spectacular book I'm super happy to finally have.

So these comics were completely produced by the beginning of March, typeset by the middle for a 12th June delivery date and cover dated (i.e. distributed in the UK) in September.  Can I just say 3 words here?
    Dreaded deadline doom.
How the Hell did they manage to miss so many deadlines when they were working 7 months in front of it? Famously Wally Wood missed the deadline for Daredevil #1 so badly that they had to slip Avengers into production ahead of schedule to fill the slot.  It was supposed to be Sept 63 but ended up arriving in April 1964.  If WW was supposed to have DD done 7 months ahead of cover date, he was 14 months late with it.

I need to chime in on the EC's as well.  Frontline Combat is just extraordinarily good through its entire run.  Two Fisted Tales is a little shakier at the very beginning before it settles into the war format, and the last issues change format again, but the middle of the run is excellent as well.
