  1. Got a decent Cap 1, but I'd still say Marvel 1 would be my preference.
  2. I read your Calgary report. One of the picks of the entire show. Great copy.
  3. WTF! I just saw this.....This collection is sick. Sick. Sick! That book is my pick of the bunch, too. Certainly not as expensive as the WTOFs, but that ghoulish Everett cover is one of my favourites, and I never see this book in high grade. I believe Mr. A. Strange has the White Mountain or perhaps just a really nice copy either way (spectacular) and there is a very, very high grade Bethlehem, regardless this is a beautiful book. So there are three high grade pedigree copies, locked away for the foreseeable future in collections, and that's all. Unless there's a Spokane copy knocking about...

  5. Agreed. You can never tire of these awesome books.
  6. You've seen it already? But seriously, I wouldn't expect a radical departure in this instalment.
  7. Not even close. The Road Warrior by a country mile Both are great.. Both classic and should not be mentioned in the same breath with bat v super Road Warrior was a decent film but it was still a pulpy genre piece. Claiming that it was a vastly better film than BVS is ludicrous.
  8. Fury Road suffered from an absence of plot, -script, characterisation and context. It was one long chase which amounted to little more than a 100 minute rock video.
  9. When it's available for free I'll try to struggle through it and provide my own review. Hopefully, I won't be cleaning rotten tomato juice off my projection screen. Wait. You've depleted the electronic ink output of Upper Mongolia with your lambasting this movie and you haven't even seen it? Color me unpersuaded then. How could you possibly give any kind of informed opinion on the content or worth of the film? If only there was a catchphrase about judging a publication by examining the outer contents of its wrapper. Maybe someone will come up with something. Considering that he hasn't even seen the film his comments about it are as useful as a condom with a hole in the wrong end. Absurd. Even the most vociferous of critics have actually seen the damn thing.
  10. That one is just fantastic. If published that would have been one of my favorite PCH covers! Thanks for sharing Agreed that's fantastic. Also in agreement. Wonder why it was turned down - too graphic, perhaps.
  11. You got into serious collecting via the movies? That makes you unique. Yes. I had no exposure to DC or Marvel as a child, I grew up with cartoons such as He-Man, Thundercats and Transformers and would read UK comics based on those characters. When everyone was into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I was into Batman. I wanted to collect everything Batman and comics became an extension of that, when I started reading the comics I fell in love with the stories, character and art. Then it became all about the comics. Soon as I got my first paying job shortly before turning 17 the first thing I did was setup a subscription with my local comic shop for all future Bat releases while collecting back issues, trades and hardcovers. When I used to go on holiday to North America I always used to look out for comic shops so I could fill gaps in the collection. Bat's dedication!

  13. They care because of the JLA franchise, which will get the green light if BVS hits a certain target. Let's repeat that word - franchise. Fans have a lot of emotional investment in that. The movie has clearly done well enough financially for the JLA movie to come out. This was not a flop like Green Lantern. That was self-evident.

  15. Avengers 1 experienced a huge run up already. If it kept growing at the same rates that it grew at leading up to the first Avengers movie, its prices would be at AF 15 levels now. It hasn`t passed B&B 28 because Avengers 1s are a zillion times easier to find than B&B 28s. Yes, it had its spike a few years ago - prices more or less trebled.
  16. The pre-Atlases that you refer to are fine. Great books, some of which I've never seen, regardless of condition.
