  1. I agree - that is one of Kirby's finest efforts and a pop-art classic. Nice pickup!
  2. Kudos to October for another hassle-free transaction with the books (four Silver Age beauties) as described. Thanks and props, Andy!!
  3. Yep. And I was the underbidder. That auction received more interest than any I've bid on in recent memory - to be fair though it was a nice copy.
  4. Kudos to jeffb for some very nice E.C.s - indestructibly packed (it took me ten minutes to open the package!), beautifully presented (sending them in nice new half - backs makes a big difference) and as described - the books look sharp for their grades, in fact. Recommended!
  5. Kudos to 143ksk for two very nice and speedily shipped BA beauties. Cheers Steve!!
  6. Kudos to tkg2627 for three tightly graded, professionally packed and quickly shipped Bronze Age beauties.
  7. A personal favorite, very reminiscent of pre-code horror...
  8. Yeah, I'm sure everybody'd love it if all the other "self-promoters" in comicdom did similarly repetitive drive-by posts here with no attempt at dialogue...
  9. I like the way Mr. Brennan mentions his name in the one of the speech bubbles on the opening page of the Aardvark story. Very self-referential. Shades of Neil Gaiman... Sterl, just to clear things up re what I meant in that post - T. Casey Brennan has posted 17 times on these Forums. Seven times his post was either a link about some prose he'd written in the '70s or the prose in question reproduced, and once was about a poster featuring his rock band. And NINE times his posts contained either the complete Black Mistress story or The Aardvark story. Or both. Enough already.
  10. I look forward to rereading these two stories in YET ANOTHER thread.
  11. Kudos to Johnenock for sound packing and fast shipping of a CGC JLA 17 - very pleasant transaction, and all round fine service!!
  12. And, oh boy, can I see why! I'd never seen this book before. Where do I buy a copy? There's one on ebay at the moment - but the seller's popscomicbooks. Never mind. However they do turn up every so often there...
  13. Very nice copy. If you ever plan to sell any of these beauties, lmk....
  14. Kudos to Dr Banner for some excellent, accurately graded, well packed and speedily shipped Bronze Age Batmans. Buy with confidence!!!
  15. Fantastic Comics 3 (fairly obvious) Tec 27 Tec 31 Action 1 Marvel Comics 1
  16. Someday Tim would own all of these books...
  17. My experience was very similiar to Conjob here. I had gotten most my Vertigo comics bought and was thinking about encapsulation. Checked out the site and the rest is history. Yeah, 4 months history, at an average of 31 posts a day.
  18. I found out about this Forum when, after unwittingly bidding on a dodgy seller's married books, I was alerted via email to a thread on this Forum about him. After lurking for a couple of months and reading many entertaining threads (this was around the time of the Hammer implosion) I finally decided to join an internet Forum, something I'd never considered doing before. And I've been here ever since....
  19. Nice work on finding those HG pence copies, Earl. Scarce in grade..
