  1. Agreed - Guy is a great ebay seller and has offered impeccable service - he's a star. I hope he's changed his mind regarding quitting selling on ebay...
  2. Here's your second chance... http://cgi.ebay.com/GREAT-COMICS-1-CGC-N...1QQcmdZViewItem Well, what did I say. Looks like the book is indeed overpriced - no takers in 6 days...
  3. That book is fairly common, even in the NM range, so another one'll turn up at some point. It is a great cover, though.
  4. No. Then, she'd definately ask questions. Don't tell her about it.
  5. Great cover, nice colors!! Not an ebay purchase I assume.
  6. Excellent - finally got to read the story, in full. Beautiful stuff, and a great story with an unusual coda. Toth's notations are heavily self-critical (and scornful of others), but very interesting and entertaining nonetheless. Site bookmarked!
  7. This is where the boards are indispensible - I always wanted to read that story (after seeing an ad for that DC treasury in the late '70s) but never got round to it. Now I know...
  8. Yeah, that book looks definitely post-code - you're kind of wondering where the stamp has gone. Some of those post-code Atlas books are interesting (and possibly ripe for re-evaluation) as they could be sinister without ever portraying direct violence or death. A lot of them were just nebulous though...
  9. Kudos to Doiby Dickles for a quickly shipped and very nice copy of Tec 68!! More please!!
  10. Another 13th Floor Atlas cover...I sense a new thread!!
  11. That no. 25 is unusually explicit in its' gruesomeness.
  12. Props to Doiby Dickles for an excellently packed, quickly shipped and accurately graded Batman 8!!!
  13. Greggy reads Marvel? Nope greggy sells Marvels to buy DC's which I'm assuming he reads, unless the other post here was correct. I know he can read graemlin for sure and thats more than I can say. I think Greggy sells Marvels to buy DC's to have someone read them to him. I am not convienced Greggy can actually read. Never underestimate the gregster - behind those graemlins there lurks a very sharp mind who can snag deals whilst everyone else is off their guard...
  14. Big Kudos to Arex Crooke for some superb CGC 9.4 S.A. books, all well packed, speedily delivered and in pristine shape. Highest recommendation!!
  15. Mysteries (Weird And Strange) has got to be THE pre-code horror title with the most amateurish, sloppy cover art (although Journey Into Fear sometimes comes close). The shadows and/or token symbolic elements in this cover are so badly done, yet somehow it still has a certain feel. Probably drawn in about half an hour, though.
  16. Kudos to Arex Crooke for a well packed and speedily shipped CGC item - I await more.........
  17. I'm not aware of a checklist, although there is a book called The Big Five by Chris Pedrin that details virtually all of DC's war output from the early 50s onwards. Motor City Comics had a stack of them (they bought out the remaindered copies), so give them a call. As far as appearances, I think Enemy Ace was basically OAAW 151, 153, 155, Showcase 57, 58, and then SSWS 138 - 150, followed by the debut of the Unknown Soldier in 151 (who first appeared in OAAW 168). I don't think there were any further apperances in that era, except for Batman 219.
  18. Weird that you should ask which ones are good reads, as I just finished SSWS 139 and 140 about 15 minutes ago, which are the only two BA war books I have ever read. They were EXCELLENT. Far better than the superhero or horror books I have read from the same time period. I am now going to focus on getting the whole run of Enemy Ace books from 138 on up, just to read them. Seriously good stuff and Kubert's interior art is amazing, as always. I've got virtually all of that series, so nice discovery, there. There's the Enemy Ace archive too, which reprints OAAW 151, Showcase 57, 58, etc. Kubert's art on that series rivals just about any other artist in the Silver and Bronze Ages. A true master.
  19. I thought GGC identifies Page Quality. I don't see it on the label Early label. They didn't put page quality on their labels for the first few months.....
