  1. Release them books and enjoy the story :insane:

This is the part of cracking a book out that I don't understand. For 1/4 the cost of slabbing, a person can obtain a reprint, can't they? (with the exception of GA books).

I can quite understand your point - but I like and want to read the originals hence

    CRACK THEM SLABS :o

  2. Apologies if this has been asked...

I have a couple of comics, namely low numbered Ultimate Spider-Man or Fathom 9 (chrome) where the card cover is cut short so the page edges are slightly showing. Is this classed as a production gremlin or does this affect the grade? hm

Thanks in advance for your comments

    (thumbs u

  3. I really want to buy one but I wish Comic Cube had black wood like the Enterprise shelving! I'd love to get a Batman engraved one!! :wishluck:

    Hey,

Check out their website - I am sure they do their cubes in black hm

I did but its just a plain black not black where you can see the woods grain. doh!

I would suggest sending them an email and ask them - if it can be done - I am sure they could do it. (shrug)

  4. says July 1987 inside cover so that seems a 1st print aswell

Just checked mine - says the same thing - good haul (thumbs u

:headbang: he just rang his son as i asked if anymore, seems another 200 tpb's and 5000 comics all 80's and early 90's, mostly Marvel, will see next week, if i buy this i could be at a few comic cons in England with £1 boxes as purchased around 15000 comics so far this year from collections

Don't forget to list them for your UK boardie buddies :insane:

  5. Glad to hear Comic Cubes worked out! Someday I hope to get some nicer storage and get rid of my damn ugly white cardboard boxes. I didn’t know about Geek Design, thanks for the link. I just found this guy: Stan Pike Designs. I thought his look pretty nice as well.

I have been eyeing up Stan Pikes's stuff for a while now, but reside the wrong side of the pond.

    Oh hum... :pullhair:

  6. The one I purchased are the "City" Cube, which are wider but narrower so that it fit behind my door. Their website goes over the dimensions and I found Adam very easy to work with. Even switch to water based poly, I sent him a sheet from a conservation site that recommended it for added protection of the comics from the off gassing. Of course oak is one of the worse offenders but it is what I wanted, so hopefully I mitigated some of the detrimental effects with the water based poly.

    Looks awesome (thumbs u

  7. I've been waiting for these LCS finds that I sent into CGC back in early Dec under Fast Track Economy and they did not disappoint. OMG

I would be - NICE books (thumbs u

  8. Since we're on the topic of MAME machines, here's mine. It cost me about $300 to put together and is well worth every penny. I have hundreds of great classics on it, and it looks great on display. Its an old picture, and I've fixed it up alittle more since then.

I'd recommend to anyone looking to get an arcade machine to consider making one of these. All you need is an old, empty cabinet, a tube TV, a decent desktop computer and a couple of other small things. Its a great, fun project.

    :applause:

Now show us the rest of the room! (thumbs u

Not yet. I still need to get a couple of grail books before my room is complete.

I bet your room is currently in a mess hm

    What grails are you after?

  9. Not sure what message my wife is trying to send me...she bought me the most comfortable rug on the entire planet for the man cave! Is she trying to get me to move in?

The Eagle is from my Dad...who passed away 5 months ago.

My new Yoda clock that I got for Christmas from my 2.5 and 4 year old...they picked it out. LOVE IT. Also got my Star Wars #42 sig series Jeremy Bulloch in and it's now being proudly displayed in the man cave!

The rug actually looks cool - your wife has GOOD taste. And that seems to run in the famiy with the clock. Great looking room. :applause:

  10. Guess I'm lucky my wife doesn't "LET ME" I tell her I'm going to do something and she doesn't mind.My whole bedroom is my comic room.Every wall in the room has OA hanging, with four huge shelves holding my books.

My wife has never curbed my comic spending - moaned yes, but never said no, so she is TOP GIRL (thumbs u. Just she does not want to look at them 24/7. Hey fine by me, means I get to hang and geek out in my room in peace and quiet

Awesome,my wife is a better grader than I am.You think I'm a tight grader in PGM thread? My wife beats me hands down, and usually suggests I get the better grade book that's more expensive.I have her so trained........I mean she's a great lady. (:

My wife is the same way. She can see defects a lot sooner than I can. Perhaps I am just anxious about buying the book. She will usually encourage me to buy the better quality books when she's with me. :cloud9:

That is just comic book collector nirvana. We are so damn lucky. :cloud9:

:baiting: You guys are making me want to get married...

    Stop it!

    If she's a Keeper :acclaim:

  13. Ah yes, the... "you can keep your 'stuff' as long as I don't have to see it," speech.

I am not allowed any comic related items outside of my room. The house is HERS :makepoint:

You poor bastuds...my lady allows it in every room of the house, including our bedroom. In fact, I have 4 comic racks from Borders loaded with books on HER side of the bed. Epic!

I do have a cunning plan - our next house, I will get the biggest room to display all my stuff. I would love to have my statutes etc around our house, but truth be known, my two year old would have the last laugh and broken pieces, torn comics and OA would litter my house. I would hate to see a 9.4 SA comic become a 1.8 at the hands of my son.

how were you able to get a room ???!!?!?!

It's called begging and pleading :insane: - Oh and my Man Cave was our garage with a false floor and wall - not utter luxury. We have a simple deal - I get my Man Cave and she can do what she likes with the rest of the house. I am cool with that except for the pink bed linen

  15. We got part of the Bowflex stuff in today. I already had the weights but the wife ordered the stand. The gym should be here tomorrow. We also went out looking for new living room furniture and a love seat for the comic/family room but couldn't find anything worth a flip.

Not finding a love seat MUST be fate
