  1. Got back a Amazing Spider-Man 129 8.0 and Ghost Rider 1 9.0 back today. June submissions!

I was expecting 7-7.5 for the ASM, so I am definitely pleased.

Talk is cheap... here are the pics.

  2. Just received this hard to find annual in the post,

    Picture204.jpg

I can't believe it arrived in such good shape, considering this is how it was packed.

    Picture203.jpg

Whether it sells for 99p or £99, I pack all my sales the same, in cardboard, I asked this seller to wrap this in cardboard and I would pay the extra cost, but as you can see, it fell on deaf ears.

I had the same thing happen to me with a book I bought - so badly packaged I could see the book thus the pages were exposed to the elements, and like you I asked for the item to be packaged well.

    Some people just don't listen.

    Nice find though!!! (thumbs u

  3. Hey Buddy Blank,

Is there anything else in the room - statues maybe?

    Thanks again,

sold most of my statues few years ago to focus more on comics...still have this spider-man bust

    some vintage star wars figures

    Hey,

The looks better with each picture you add - makes my humble Man-Cave (pictured a few pages early) look like chaos...

    It is chaos

  4. Hey Buddy Blank,

Thanks for the information - this is high on my list of layout for the future. It will either be something similar to your set up, Oakman29's Mag boxes, or comic drawers - I have lots of time to decide.

I have about double the number, so will need a heck of a lot of space - one can dream :cloud9:

    Thanks again,

  5. Love the room Waylander.

Thank you, (thumbs u but just need some more space to display stuff :frustrated:

Looks like you have some pretty serious "stuff" and I see you get your boxes from Justin Ebbs.

I will have to be honest, I just put the order into Comicana Direct for boxes and they send them out boxes, so I have a mixture - I do like the Ebb ones they do seem more sturdy. And I have stuck to the shorter boxes to save my back :sumo:

  6. I picked up some magazine boxes from the Office Depo and started working on putting comics on the shelves.

    Looking good brother. :applause:

    Thanks.

Those look both, cool and practical. (thumbs u

Thanks, I got the idea from Oakman29

Theicheaply cheap, well 6/15.00 and each box holds 35-40...I use Mylite 2's. So you can probably fit more using thinner bags. Anyhow, I'm thinking about generating some tags for each box once I get everything all ironed out.

Well I ran out of boxes but here is what I got so far...

I like this concept, unfortunately, as I keep saying I do not have the room and if (which seems likely) we may move soon, then I will need the boxes. But if I have more room in my next place then this idea may be pirated - hm

  7. Hey One and All,

As promised, if this works, here is my 'Man Cave'...

Here’s an overview of my humble collection:

I have over 11,500 comics – and only one is slabbed. My collection includes such delights as X-Men 1 – 10, X-Men 94, and GS 1, ASM 50, ASM 129, Hulk 181, Daredevil 1, Marvel Premier 15, Iron Fist 14 and Dark Knight Returns original signed hardcover GN to name a few. I do have around 99% of my comics listed on excel, but the comics are filed randomly in the boxes – this, when I have time, will be corrected so I can actually find stuff.

There are 45 lithographs and posters, a highlight being a Battle of the Planets lithograph signed and remarked by Alex Ross – limited to 12

I have about 25 statues and 50 busts (all boxed) mainly Bowen Designs

There are action figures hidden one of the large boxes and some on shelving

I own three pieces of original art work, again not on display

My other ‘vice’ is collecting David Gemmell books and I have all his hardback books 1st printings, many signed. These are tucked away in another room.

My aim is to get a larger room, so I can display my ‘stuff’ (as my wife calls my collection), but I am just happy with what I have – or rather that’s all the space she will let me have.

    Cheers,

Oh, and I will try and donwload some samples of my comics

Nice looking collection, very sweet. Gemmell is wonderful, my fav. Fantasy writer.

    Hey Humantorch,

I have to say, since Gemmell passed away, there has been a lack of quality out there - I have moved on to reading Simon Scarrow's Eagle series which is pretty cool.

And thank for your commets re: my Man Cave

  8. Bought this when I was ten years old by mail order from American Entertainment and somehow managed to keep it nice all this time, eighteen years later. Really wanted the 9.8 though...

    100_1409.jpg

Did the get the label right on it? On mine they don't list it as the variant and have it listed as the Gambit hologram, instead of the Magneto one. And they got the grade wrong too. I was hoping for a 9.8 also, but, they misprinted it with a 0 instead of the 8.

The X-Men 25 black and white is an awesome cover - has anyone submitted the Gold variant?

  9. All,

Sorry to ask a random question, but I have found the Walking Dead issues 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 15, lurking in one of my comic boxes, all say NM-. I had intended collecting them many years back, but never got around to it - I know silly me!!

Anyhow, can someone please give me an idea of what they are worth, bearing in mind I am based in the UK.

    Many thanks,

    Waylander

  10. Here are my most recent finds at my LCS all from the same Original Collection that was sold to him. Ive set aside several others which are amazing to look at for sure.

    WEBHEAD

This is why I need to move - no LCS in Jersey - I have to fly to London to get my fix and that DOES NOT happen that often.

Oh, and that's if the wife let's me :makepoint:
