  1. Certainly is a labor of love. :luhv:

Even if its by PM, can I please see progression pictures (thumbs u

Sure. (thumbs u Finding parts have been hell not like they reproduced these parts like Fords, but I've been working with the Oakland owners society in Pontiac Michigan to help. That's when I found out there were only 3 left. That's when my original thought of hot rodding it ended, and felt it better to restore it original.I bought the car from the original owner about ten years ago, believe it or not! He told me how he courted his wife in the car etc.So I am literally only the second owner of the car. :cloud9:

That story re: the original owner is so cool - I cannot wait for updates - the car is utterly dreamy - a grail in its own right :golfclap:

  2. My wife is very familiar with values of my books.I have a living trust that explains in detail what to do and who to sell to.I have some board members here in my trust for my wife to contact. (thumbs u

That's actually a great idea. I don't have any children, and I don't have any friends who collect. I'd hate the idea of my cherished treasures being tossed up unceremoniously on Ebay. At least that's one way to pass them on.

Now, I just need some friends. Haha.

I have a dear friend, god father to my children who is a collector, so he will see things right - but if I out live him hm

:headbang: I have a book that has everything that I own,and prices I paid for each item comic books,OA,toys, autographs my classic car. my living trust states who to talk to here on the boards(people I trust) to broker or help my wife with my comics and OA to maximize the prices sold. They will be compensated well for their efforts.Of course it helps to have a mother in law as an Atty who specializes in Probate and wills, and wife who is a paralegal.

    Hey,

That's so reassuring - over time I hope to build that kind of network here on the boards. Oh and what's the claasic car?

I own a 1929 Oakland 3 window business coupe, still restoring it.Oakland became Pontiac in 1930,so with the great depression and it being the last year the company was in business there are only 3 3window coupes in existence.

  5. Slowly be surely I'm starting to get things cleaned up.

We got a bow flex on order that will go here...

We got a drum set and schiwnn exercise bike on order for this spot...if anyone is interested, the floor cleaner machine is brand new and for sale ;)

I'm thinking about a love seat, a couple captain chairs in this floor space...there is also a Foose ball table to the side that I'm going to replace with a better unit. I haven't decided yet but I'll probably leave the walker where it sits but carpet that area. Then place a 55" or larger tv to the right of it.

    Hey WiseGuy,

Starting to look good - but where's the comics? Oh and a 'loveseat' - dude that's a bit extreme hm

This is a pretty good size room filled with cabinets. So a lot of the books are in small boxes placed inside cabinets. As for the love seat, that is for me and the wifey when we want to watch something together...will sub as a throw chair for me the rest of the time.

Once I get it cleaned up, I'm going to look into buying some comic art to hand on the walls.

Now here is some comics that are inside magazine boxed just above my desk area.

    My Amazing Spiderman collection.

My comic work station...used for bagging etc.

Comic supplies...I need to order some more supplies.

Ah, the comics look well organise :applause:. Is the ASM complete? OA on the wall would look so cool especially if you use dark frames to match the room.

Like a lot - more progress picture in due course? hm

  6. Did you notice they mislabeled this one? Should be #51.

Yup, I noticed, but I'm pretty sure the indicia says 61. I'm not sure why 51 is on the cover. Anyone with any info would be great :D

It would seem that CGC have put on the wrong details on the label - your book is issue 51, dated Jan 46. hm

Issue 61 is dated May 1946

  8. My basement flooded out in September, finally finished today. Made it into a sort of mancave/comic room.

Very nice shelving from Ikea for my comic book collection. Each one of those boxes is a magazine box. This is *my* stuff, the not for sale stuff.

The new office area. This was previously just junky storage. That Wizards poster needs to get hung. Right behind the pole is a Bose speaker

The two captains chairs that replaced the old blue ones. Also note the hardwood flooring throughout..

    Hey,

Your basement is looking very nice - LOVE the chairs, they are so cool (thumbs u

so cool! my wife would flip, but one day i should definitely do that to one of our bookshelves!

Why am I so lazy? I wish I could be that organized! Maybe then I would have new life breathed into me for collecting.

Excuse the pun, but you need to get your finger out

    (thumbs u

Oh, and so do I

  10. Thanks!!!
