  1. Sunday's splattering of modern age variant comics to watch thanks to our sponsor Lyria. When you think of comic trends and well written articles about the comic market - think Lyria. (I tease, I tease. but seriously, check out the site.) This week the market has been pretty exciting. Lots of new books came out of nowhere and moved up the ranking pretty fast. And of course that means lots of variants also moved up the ranking pretty fast. Today I will list all the hot variants that I've noticed moving at a brisk speed on eBay. Amazing Spider-Man #678 MJ Venom Variant Bedlam #1 NYCC Variant already over $110! Uncanny Avengers #1 Deadpool "Call Me Maybe" Sketch Variant Justice League #1 Sketch Variant Batman #13 NYCC Variant $35+ Batman #13 Sketch Variant Amazing Spider-Man #692 Fan Expo Variant Batman #13 Joke in Mirror Variant Legends of the Dark Knight Stephen Platt Variant Batgirl #13 die-cut variant Batman #13 die-cut variant Happy #1 Las Vegas variant Bedlam #1 sketch variant Helheim #1 NYCC variant
  2. Oh, and btw, not that we all didn't already know this but Batgirl #13 just made the Lyria 'Comics to Watch' list.
  3. Nothing random about it. I ask eBay's api for a list of books that have the most bids, are the most watched or are the most expensive in that age group and meet the filter criteria. eBay sends me back the books that best meets that request and I dress them up so that they are easy to digest (because no one wants to read a spam of textual nonsense that they return from the call). Does that help? I thought you sprinkled pixie dust all over ebay and it made magic That's going to be in my next update.

  5. I'm taking a wait and see approach.
  6. Much as I would love to disagree with him he is right. The book has sold well since the first few weeks. As much as it pains me to admit it, the book has an audience a very loyal one. there I said it.
  7. I also made a bid on this book but didn't up to my highest point because I assumed I would be at my computer later that night.
  8. I recall the same type of chatter after a couple of issues of Chew came out.
  9. If anyone has their eye on a #1 2nd print I have a raw 9.8 Laird copy I'm going to be putting up for sale. Rather let someone hanging out in here get their hands on it first
  10. There are a ton of comics less than six months old that are doing phenomenally well. So this week I'll list the top 15 modern books that you should hunt down and buy at your LCS or grab today before they run out stock! And by no means is this the only books listed on Lyria's Market but for sake the brevity I'm keeping the list short. What a week to be a comic fan! Clear winners are Uncanny Avengers Variants and DC 52 #13's dealing with the Joker. Uncanny Avengers #1 Deadpool Sketch Variant - $110 to $150 Revival #1 Sketch Variant - $130 Thief of Thieves #1 - $50 Peter Panzerfaust #1 - $50 Uncanny X-Men #500 Variant cover - $45 Uncanny Avengers #1 1:75 Variant - $40 Revival #1 Awesome Con Variant - $40 Batman #608 2nd print - $40 Batman Adventures: Mad Love #1 - $30 Batman #13 NYCC Variant - $30 Thief of Thieves #2 - $25 Uncanny Avengers #1 Hastings Halloween Variant - $20 Legends of the Dark Knight #1 Stephen Platt Variant - $20 Nightwing #4 - $20 Uncanny Avengers #1 Midtown Variant - $15
  11. I checked out Lyria the other day. Need to set up a profile. Is this your site? The articles were good (the ones I read at least). (thumbs u Thanks! I have an idea to get the articles more up to date but it will take a couple of months worth of development. Hopefully you will see something before Christmas. (thumbs u
  12. Top 15 comics that are interesting buyers on eBay and are NOT variants or sets (...of comics). Uncanny X-Force #2 Thief of Thieves #1 Witchblade #1 Peter Panzerfaust #1 Uncanny X-Men #266 Batman Adventures: Mad Love #1 Nightwing #4 New X-Men #128 Saga #1 Everybody loves Tank Girl #1 Amazing Spider-Man #607 Batman #1 Thief of Thieves #2 Revival #1 Manhattan Projects #1 And for god sakes go to The Lyria Market and bookmark the page! Tons of up to date information there - like the total weekly eBay listings for the last couple of months! (thumbs u
  13. Why everyone is complaining about cost let me just add that I still need a CGC 9.8 SDCC variant and what's available on eBay is sparse.
  14. Your suspicion is incorrect. (thumbs u If you don't have a job, then I guess $28 means the world. You don't guess very well either. How much do you make an hour? Not quite $28 an hour.
  15. Numerous Thief of Thieves sets are now showing up on the market list. I'm sure what Kirkman said about the tv show is helping. From one to two copies to about 8 copies in over a few days. Madness!
  16. So the general feeling is that there isn't much interest?
  17. It certainly is different from just stamping a store logo on the cover. No offense to Larry's variant's but his always felt like 2nd prints or something...
  18. Well I rather like the different cover that third eye produced for this variant but I have to be honest and say store variants are usually a turn off. Does anyone else feel the same way?
