  1. I'm having trouble getting copies of the SDCC for $60.
  2. Welcome to the club! Unfortunately there are no books allowed in the club meeting hall so if you would just hand over that copy to me you can go inside and help yourself to cake and punch.
  3. So how many golds do we know are in the hands of collectors on this board versus still left to be found?
  4. Where would this be? Closest I could find to that in completed eBay auctions was $39. I double checked and it's only $40. So I was $20 off. I'm not sure where the $60 came from.
  5. Solar 10 didn't have any variants, just a second print that was never highly sought after. I didn't say it was a variant. But the black cover at the time was something unique which was followed very quickly by die-cut covers, different color covers, limited edition covers ect. so Solar 10 wasn't a variant in and of itself but was maybe a catalyst to start the whole thing back in the 90's. .. Well according to some discussions I've read. Someone page Valiantman and see if he can help clear this up or let me know if I'm just puffing out smoke. Punisher War Zone #1, Wolverine #50 and several other die cuts preceded Solar #10 by months. Then you should ignore what I said.
  6. I meant #35. It's already jumped up in popularity.

  8. Adding my I also noticed the same picks that Catwoman showed so I won't talk about them, instead I'll talk about some others that I've noticed from my website, The Market, that have surprised me. Amazing Spider-Man #430 still hot at around $15-$20+ Kick- #1 is heating back up. Uncanny X-Force #4. wtf? This book is hotter than the first few issues. I'm not sure why. X-O Manowar #1 (1992) early Valiant's are still on the rise. Batman: The Killing Joke is suddenly doing well. Star Trek & Dr. Who #1 covers are doing extremely well in the $10+ realm. Captain America #14 is 1st appearance of Winter Solider Harbinger #1 is again representing Valiant's rebirth. Solar #10 touted by some to be the start of all the variants in the 90's Chew #1 2nd print is getting somewhere in the $40 range!
  9. It's official. Revival #1 cover B is #43 on The Market modern books to watch!
  10. A found a bunch of books slightly off the beaten path that are doing reasonably well at $10 or more and a couple of bids on eBay. And a few variants from books that are well known that are also doing rather well. Perhaps these can be considered books that are "Heating up"? Harbinger #2 (1990) Mylo Xyloto #1 SDCC variant Harbinger #2 (2012) 1:20 variant Revival #1 1:10 variant Chew #1 2nd printing Thief of Thieves #2 X-O Manowar #1 (1990) Tales of Teen Titans #44 Amazing Spider-Man #573 Stephen Colbert Variant Manhattan Projects #1 X-O Manowar #4 Hack/Slash #1 (2004) Spawn #221 variant More suprising finds found here as always. 11. It's new comic Wednesday! So let's recap this past weeks non variant comics to watch thanks to The Market Morning Glories #1 Morning Glories #1 Strangers in Paradise #1 Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 NYX #3 Thief of Thieves #1 New X-Men #128 Uncanny X-Force #4 Peter Panzerfaust #1 Uncanny X-Force #5 Saga #1 There were a lot of sets and lots of variants that I cut from the list due to keeping this list pure but it's interesting to see what SDCC 2012 variant is already "heating up" and what series are gaining momentum.
  12. Trying something a little different today. I'm talking about comic sets that are doing well on eBay as voted by bidders. They paint a slightly different pictures than the typical one issue books that we see over and over again. So here they are, the top 10 comics sets as reported by The Market Dead Space #1-6 Thief of Thieves #1-5 Nightwing #1-9 (DC 52) Detective Comics #1-11 Venom Circle of Four Metal Gear SOld #1-8 Ultimate Spiderman Vol2 #1-4 Peter Panzerfaust #1-4 Uncanny X-Force #10-18 Justice League #1-3 + Variants (DC 52) (thumbs u
  13. Wildcats #1 gold seems to be a fan favorite as of late. It's getting close to the $25 mark. Is there some reboot I'm unaware of? Current auction
  14. In competition with Batman Adventures #12 as 1st appearance of Harley Quinn in DC continuity. Apparently Batman Adventures #12 doesn't count because it's based of the cartoon. BA # 12 counts, it is premium priced too, it's just that this one also counts and it's ross and it's really pretty. I sold a copy last month for $50. really sharp, might be a 9.8. so maybe i should have waited a month! then again, i got it out of a dollar box (which is why the condition was so surprising), so i'm pretty happy anyway. i believe there is a 2d print of this as well, so folks need to be careful. You mean there is a 2nd Print of Batman Harley Quinn right?
  15. I really enjoy your site and check it out often! Just wondering - is there a way to filter out variant books on your site? Yes. But like anything it takes time and hard work. I will put it on a list of things for me to get done. Good idea man.

  17. We use the gender neutral term "Comics to Watch" as to not offend people on these boards.
  18. Books I found that have at least 2 bids, are selling for more than $10 and are not variants in the Modern Age on eBay are the following: Cursed Pirate Girl #2 Batman Adventures #12 NYX #3 Batman: Vengeance of Bane #nn Thief of Thieves #1 Harbinger #1 (1991) Deadpool #48 Detective Comics #1 And three variants that I noticed had multiple listings all doing rather well: Amazing Spider-Man #688 J.Scott Cambpell Variant Eternal Warrior 1 Gold Flat Variant Wolverine 310 Mcguinness Cover Variant All these and more can be found over on the The Market everyday. Now with an "All Age" category so you can see which comics are the most active/expensive/watched in our hobby as voted by eBay users!
  19. Buzzetta pays fast with no problems. Was a pleasure.
  20. one sold yesterday for $15 and one also sold for $30. the one that sold for $15 is listed as VF/NM whereas the other was listed as NM. there's one at $12 with 2 hours left. let's see where that ends, and then we can get an idea if it's dropping or not. there's also one with 3 days left at $10 Which is my point ... a criteria of "an auction with more than 2 bids which is currently above $10" gives you no indication whether a book is hot or not. As always, I'm open for suggestions on improving the search. Feel free to give me a more rigorous detailed list of rules that I should follow. I have zero problems with the search - it's the incorrect label I find troublesome All the other lists you have on your site have labels that are factually true - "Most Bids", "Most Watched", "Most Expensive", etc. But saying that books are heating up on eBay when you're not comparing them to historical sales data and the auctions aren't even over yet is wrong - it's not supported by your data, and it seems to lead to confusion every time you post with people asking "what's up with book X" even though, in fact, there's nothing up with book X. That's all, really. what if he changed the title? maybe something like "books that might be worth looking for?", only better. How about "Comics to watch"?

  22. ASM 430/431 are the Carnage/SS issues. 441 is the last issue in the 1963 numbering run. Nightwing 4 may simply be a reflection of order drop-offs. I meant 431. That's the one popping up.
  23. Much appreciated... especially the omission of variants. (thumbs u You're welcome. (thumbs u
