  1. Pop 15 should win win all 8 top spots and should have won the polls it wasn't even in.
  2. That one baffled me. I guess two bidders really wanted that book.
  3. Cole books ending strong in the Mycomicshop Prime auction: 4Most Vol. 8 (1949) Four Most 5 VG+ 4.5 (mycomicshop.com) Power Comics (1944 Holyoke) 1 CGC 2.5 (mycomicshop.com) Holiday Comics (1951 Star) 5 VG 4.0 (mycomicshop.com) Spook (1954) 28 CGC 4.0 (mycomicshop.com)
  4. Woah, nice. These were the exact type of books I was looking for while diving through the long boxes. Nice scores. Funny about dealers saying they were good on buying Stevens books. Those guys all have boxes of them to piecemeal out. They are very common.
  5. Yes, the Carnage guy that's there every year with his giant lobster claw hands taking up entire corridors. There was one other costumed fella there that I saw but I didn't recognize the costume. Some trenchcoat and mask situation.
  6. I feel like the female population was down this year from the past few years. Most of the women there seemed to be tagging along with their significant other. There was one woman, around 30ish, in Terry's booth haggling over the price of a Wonder Woman comic while I was standing nearby but, overall, it was largely a sea of flabby dudes lugging backpacks. There were only two costumes from what I saw. That's still two too many.
  7. There's nothing rational about any of this hobby.
  8. This price seems absurd to me but I'm still wrapping my head around the interest and resultant price escalation that's been pushing towards Atlas romance the last year or so.
  9. Here are my modest pickups. Tick sketch by Ian Chase Nichols Beneath the Trees Variant signed by Kyle Willis Jughead 79
  10. I was expecting to see more focus on pulps this year but I only saw them at a couple booths, including at Terry's as usual. The big wall books on every dealer's wall was Dave Stevens. That's what happens when common $10 books suddenly 10x overnight I guess. For the most part, prices were terrible. Not even worth trying to negotiate down. Not every dealer but certainly the majority. For example I was hoping to find a high grade Crow 2. I found two dealers that each had a copy in roughly F/VF condition with $300 price tags. That's an ultra specific example but it's illustrative. Batman 227 seemed to be a highly requested book, for some reason. I overheard the phrase, "I'll be back" from every tire kicker handing a book back they were looking at. Not sure why that phrase was so popular. Also popular this year were people with outrageous body odor.
  11. I think that's a good guess. I was trying to figure it out.
  12. Curious to see where this ends. Super tough book. https://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FCOMICTRACK%2FAUCTIONS%2Fauctions.asp%3F_SORT%3DYES%26returning%3D1%26classDateSelected%3D2024-04-12%26AuctionDateSearch%3DAll%2BAuctions%2C2024-04-11%26classCodeSelected%3DCurrent%2BAuctions%26auctionSearch%3Dclass%26y%3D15%26dateCodeSelected%3DAll%2BAuctions%26IDUser%3D306%26dateDateSelected%3D2024-04-12%26x%3D32%26f1%3Da.EndDate%26ODire1%3DASC%26f2%3D10%2C%2Bi.IssueNumber%2C%2Bi.Condition%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3Da.MaxBid%26ODire3%3DASC%26fshowpicture%3D1%26fthumbbeenhere%3D1%26freliststatus%3D%26pg%3D4&id=1761826
  13. Curious to see if pulps are hot items this year.
  14. I too got that notification email and, indeed, it sold for $1500 48 minutes after it was listed for sale. It's one of my favorite PCH covers. It's weird, it's purple, it's got a skeleton wearing a hat. It's perfect. That $1500 may be a great buy in retrospect. Incidentally, I got my 2.5 from Terry one year ago at the Little Giant show, which I'm heading to today! I'm guessing his pulp boxes will be busy this year.
