  1. Takes: First takeit in the thread wins and immediately trumps all ongoing PM negotiations. I reserve the right to overrule takes in the event that a PM deal is concluded and I hadn't yet had a chance to mark an item sold. Any variation of "takeit" counts. Please do not edit takeits and please do not commit to buy unless you intend to follow through. Payment: Zelle, Check or MO preferred. Paypal or Venmo okay. Who can buy: No Hall of Shamers or Probies, or anyone on my personal list. Shipping: Free within the US. International at cost. Returns: Three days' return shipping from receipt. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost back unless item was damaged in transit.
  2. I heard that only decrepit 98 year olds on the verge of death collect Golden Age. The collapse is imminent.
  3. I did the same thing, around the same time, for marginal profits I probably spent on pizza and pop rocks. I wish I had every one of those books back.
  4. CGC was caught selling grades twice. We all willfully moved on.
  5. Haven't tried yet but maybe I'll give that a shot.
  6. I had 3 books in this just closed auction, as a trial. Nothing worth more than $150-$200. The first ended where I thought it would, almost to the dollar. The second book ended at 40% of where i expected. Puke. the third book ended at about 75% of what I expected. Blah. All in all I would consider the experiment a failure but won't rule out sending books in the future if the site gets more traction.
  7. I wish someone shill bid one of my books, which just set a GPA low.
  8. I have 3 books in this current auction. One ended Friday at pretty much exactly what I figured it would. I have to remind myself there are no fees so I'll come out a little ahead on the sale. Hoping for the same on the other two. Of the books I bid on I feel like the hammer prices were fairly strong.
  9. Based on this sample size of one data point derived from an inauthentic sale I am thinking I should dump my GA collection before the bottom falls out.
  10. There's extensive discussion buried in this thread regarding Baker, Phantom Lady 17 and Feldstein's recollection thereof. At one point Feldstein refers to Baker as the leading headlights artist, which is certainly not Baker's claim to fame and diminishes his skill as a draftsman. My conclusion was that Feldstein was misremembering certain events, which most people would when recalling details from decades prior. I say this as a huge Feldstein fan. I can barely remember the names of coworkers from ten years ago let alone what those people contributed to any given project. If Baker did draw the cover of Phantom Lady 17 it was done so under the artistic direction of someone else in the Iger shop.
  11. There were certainly some surprises on the high side but I feel like some went pretty low too.
