  1. That has DEFINITELY been my observation. .
  2. There were around 500 copies. You can check out my old registry set by following THIS LINK. I have a ton of information about each Spawn book on my registry. I hope you find the information useful.
  3. The most EPIC thing in the world would be a Comcav sales thread.
  4. He said that after you cancelled a deal and told him not to lecture you? Correct?
  5. All he said (paraphrased) is gotcha...let me think about it. I just don't see what was wrong with that response. Was it the "gotcha" that got you? Thankfully, I've had more than one deal on the boards that required someone to "sleep on it" and things turned out very well.
  6. I like both of these guys and appreciate what they offer the boards. My 2 cent opinion is that Comical Situations was the first to rub the sore. I also think that this isn't really worth a discussion. Just block each other and move along.
  7. You know how I much I love Dune and Frank Herbert. I couldn't hit the TAKE button fast enough, my friend. Pulps rule.
  8. Going down the complete run road isn’t good for your mental health. At least it wasn’t good for mine. I once owned Spawn 1-275 with all variants in graded 9.8 or above. Over 400 slabs. I was only missing one issue. Took me years of obsessive hunting. Lots of collectors are probably unaware of what a truly brutal goal that was. The hunt was mostly thrilling, but I was literally drowning in slabs. My collection owned me instead of the other way around. I guess my point is to focus on what makes you happy instead of a particular end goal. This isn’t weight loss. If you’re even thinking of damaging a classic book to achieve a particular grade, you may already be too far gone. And please remember that all 8.0s are not created equally. Buy the book, not the silly number on the label.
  9. Here are the CGC's own published guidelines. 9.9s are ALMOST perfect. They aren't perfect. CGC
  10. I'm not trolling. And just because you can't see an imperfection doesn't mean that I can't see it. Your definition makes no logical sense at all from an objective standpoint.
  11. What do you think a 10.0 is for?
  12. Absolutely. Collecting rarer Golden Age has taught me that sometimes you better jump on it! The opportunity may not come around for years or even decades.
  13. Why not buy the higher grade? If it's important for you to have matching grades and PQ, then wait and buy an 8.0. These aren't rare books. Why the hurry?
  14. Best of luck to you! I don't think he'll reconsider. I'm sure he weighed the financial loss before he made a decision, and he's been living pretty well with his decision. I don't think he'd sell out, but you never know.
  15. You might have better luck buying a copy that's already been signed and graded.
  16. That's an AMAZING cover! I'm crying because I missed it.
  17. Just interesting to learn. I've never been into cards, unless you count Garbage Pail Kids!
