I'm just saying that there are worse things a comic can experience than some water, which you can heat press to desiccate and smooth out. Sure, might lead to some rust on the staples and weaker fibers, but the comic's still going to outlive you anyway.

And, FWIW, virtually every single presser out there moisturizes your comic with at least distilled water before pressing, if it is not Modern Age or perhaps Bronze Age. So that's technically "water damage" already.

This isn't even close to being the same thing.

You cannot "heat press [a comic that's been exposed to water] to desiccate and smooth [it] out."

    Please. Stop spreading misinformation.

EDIT: I guess you could heat press a soaked comic...enjoy the completely fused interior.

FedEx routinely signs "for" me, but I wouldn't say it's a problem.  I prefer this over failing to deliver for a week by coming to my house at 10:24am Monday through Friday...

The fact that you can't use the "Manage Delivery" function to redirect the package to a FedEx store is baffling.

Oh. It's a problem. They aren't supposed to sign. The CUSTOMER is supposed to sign. This is a matter of security. Absolutely unacceptable.

Packaged in two separate bundles, each with cardboard front and back and blue painter taped together. Sorted by grading tier.

    There you go.

Sounds like a convenient lie to me.

They know the chances of a lawsuit or claim are slim to none. Cheaper to simply absorb the cost.

I would demand pics of the damaged package.

  4. I'd venture to say that you are probably correct.

    The package didn't arrive damaged.

The order was received and divided according to grading tier.

At some point, they dropped or other how damaged your pre-screens. The other ones were fine.

How did you pack them? Were the books sorted according to tier? Did you have one stack bundled for pre-screen with the other stack bundled separately?

  5. SPAWN-BATMAN - CGC 9.8 - SIGNED BY FRANK MILLER AND TODD MCFARLANE

I've explained this before, but I really took the time to window the books for prime signature placement. I also requested specific ink colors. Things didn't always turn out the way I planned, but many times they did.

See how the font on the cover is silver for Miller and gold for Todd?

Now notice the signature inks. Also, the placement. Batman was on top...so was Miller's sig.

The twin sigs make something special of an otherwise non-spectacular book (sold about a billion copies, very common in high grade).

    Hello!

This submission was received on 2/20 through the UV service however you also requested imaging for this book. Imaging adds 10 business days to the total turnaround time in house. Rest assured you should be seeing an update on your submission tracking page HERE shortly. Thanks for your patience.

I thought imaging was now automatically performed on all books. Why the extra 10 day delay?

So, I was looking at information about the Lotus VHS release. At least some copies apparently came packaged with a full-size copy of Spawn 1 (in addition to the mini comic packed into the VHS sleeve), presumably a reprint. Any idea if those Spawn 1s are uniquely distinguishable, or if they're identical to ... some other Spawn 1s?

I'm not certain. My guess is that there was no difference. There were more than enough copies floating around to end up in giveaways, and the VHS was released back in 1992. I seriously doubt there was a special printing.

    @Lobstrosity

    Maybe Trent will know?

  8. CRUSADE OF COMICS PRESENTS SPAWN 1 - CGC 9.9

Notes from Spawnworld:This mini comic was sold inside "Todd McFarlane" Creates Lotus" video cassette packages. It is smaller than a usual comic at 4" by 7.5" and 12 pages.

    It recounts the origin story.

Finding a 9.9 copy of a mini-comic sold inside of a VHS case...TOUGH. This was and still is the top census copy.

If I think about it when I see it I'll look out for you, I don't own it currently. I did think of you as a LCS got in some a while back, but I didn't remember the issue number and etc didn't know where to find it 😂 on the boards. I should have pmd you.

No I don't currently own it though lol

    It's gotta be a 9.8.

It makes you wonder if some people think the carppy stuff they post is private, or not read by anyone but the person they're ripping on.  Everyone on here, I suspect, has a "personal list" of Boardies they won't buy from or sell to, and a lot of those are probably based on reactions like a-c's.  It's just so unnecessary and short-sighted if you're hoping to move books here.

Yeah. That expression was total overkill considering the circumstances. Not a good look at all, and quite off-putting. Handle disputes with facts, otherwise you come across as a middle schooler.

I thought the same with fingerbends. Still sounds like a worthy thread. The start of say 1997 up to about 2014 is when I didn't think too much of comics nor see a lot of them. This thread could be very informative for me, not having read probably countless threads form the boards during that time. 😂

We have the Spawn thread as well, and this is a bit everyman that I'll enjoy too. :)

    Speaking of Spawn...

let me know if you have Spawn 156. I'd appreciate first dibs on "the one that got away." :foryou:
