  1. Bah. The theme to Krull crushes them! James Horner was an animal.
  2. I thought it was freakin' awesome back in the day...but I was 9 or 10. I'll have to give it another shot, but it was a whole lotta awesome sauce for its time.
  3. I've done several deals, some of them fairly substantial, with Rick as a buyer and seller. Trades. Personal checks. You name it. Always flawless and professional. Trustworthy guy with fine taste in books. Always has the best. Solid grader, especially in the mid-grade range. Spot-on or within half a point either direction. Look forward to a long relationship in the comic realm.
  4. Thanks to everyone who made the first part of this sale a mad success! Alas, I have even more books with which to part, including, you guessed it, more Spawn! They just keep coming out of the woodwork. To kick things back off, let's start with a copy of: ALIEN WORLDS 1 - CGC 9.6 (NM+). Case is in good shape, but may show some very light cosmetic wear. If this doesn't sell, I am cracking it out for Mylar. Beautiful work. $20
  5. A 1.0 sold this month for $3100, so I'm not sure how beat you're thinking.
  6. I can't afford it...but man...the All-top octocover is what I'm talkin' bout.
  7. Only if it's a bloody orgy with a devil and all the relevant symbolism.
  8. ....I just hope they don't release a "DNA" variant.
  9. It IS nothing more than crude porn. Nothing particularly artistic or interesting about it from the standpoint of a guy who loves comics AND a guy who watches porn. It's not artistic. It's not erotic. It's simply the sort of garbage a 14 year-old would draw. CGC is within their rights to refuse service. I don't understand the appeal of this comic at all. I am a free-speech guy to the max, but I also honor the decision of a business to refuse to work with pornography. Leave it in Mylar and be done with it. I'm sure it's just as "stimulating" as looking at a slabbed copy.
  10. I love doing business with you Rick. Happy to give you the shot and glad you won. I'll get this packed up. Will ship tomorrow.
  11. Yes. As much as I love this one, I have others that I love even more. And one has to go right now.
  12. FOR SALE - Magic Comics 15 - CGC Universal 7.0 (F/VF) OW/W pages Structurally, this book hits way above it's grade, comfortably in the deep VF range, IMHO. There is very light rust on the tight staples, but no migration as of yet. I was going to have the staples replaced, but my phone calls were never returned, and I decided to leave the book as is. It may be worth conserving, however. It's THAT pretty. I don't think the CGC was kind to the staining (looks more like soiling) on the back cover. I bought this as a VF and I agree with the guy who sold it to me. Black covers from 1940 aren't that easy to find in grade. We all know this. Book features bright colors. Godz it's BEAUTIFUL! For real. Tied with one other book for third highest graded. Pressing history is unknown to me, as I am not the original owner. Raw scans are included. You are buying a fresh slab, placed in Mylar from day one and sealed with acid-free double-sided tape. Graders' notes verbatim: light rusted staples to cover light spine stress lines to cover light staining to cover small crease right bottom of front cover $800 shipped
  13. I'll be honest. I've spent $20,000 in two months, spoiling the baby (playhouse and playset), my wife (new flooring throughout 80% of the home), and myself (backyard improvements and major yard projects). I bought a beautiful book (listed below) outside of my collecting focus. A few weeks later, another beautiful book, falling within my area of focus, came along, and I told myself I'd sell the Magic to fund my other comic purchase. The problem is that I fell in love with the Magic. I've been fighting the decision to sell this one. But a dental bill came in yesterday, and I've had enough. I need a tiny bit of cash, so............................................

My kudos can be found by going HERE. I look forward to doing business with you!
  15. That would be the case. The original worry was that he had no way to get off the list; however, the OP has given him several fair methods to the resolve the issue: 1. Repost the original pictures (says he cannot) 2. Find the sales receipt (shouldn't be hard). 3. Find the book (gotta be somewhere in the house). I think he's been given several fair opportunities here. This isn't a witch-hunt or a "detriment to the PL" as has been suggested by another boardie. The truth is that we cannot allow this to go down. If we do, we are setting a dangerous precedent for sellers by allowing them to back out of a done deal by "losing" the book. It's very unfortunate for the seller in this case, but I think he's been given fair opportunity to solve this matter.
  16. I'm going to go ahead and assume that you would also hide color touch, ripped interior pages, cut coupons, married covers, and any number of other issues with a book. Congratulations on killing your reputation here on the boards. It didn't even take you 6 months.
