  1. I mean, it's simple...you send her the book and $50 bucks and you get an estimate. Anyone worthwhile will want to see the book in hand before giving a binding estimate, and the reason should be self-evident.
  2. Did you read and follow the procedures listed on her website? Here She charges $100 an hour. The book you mention, quite frankly, isn't worth her time or your expense. IMHO, she is the best. She's too busy to be kickin' the tire around.
  3. Some guy bought a "murder bucket" for a gift during our department's "Dirty Santa" gift exchange. It was a mop bucket with a shovel, duct tape, latex gloves, bleach, etc. Certainly raised some eyebrows, but it definitely got a hardy laugh from me.
  4. Scotch shipping tape! I also use their "reinforced" shipping tape for heavy duty stuff like box seams. Super strong. If you're looking for good cheap stuff, I have no idea.
  5. Yes, I would consider it a key issue for sure.
  6. Agreed. Also, does this title seem undervalued, in general, or is it just me? After reading a few, the stories are pretty horrible and the art isn't always the best, but I like the vibe of the run.
  7. Crazy! What's the point, even? So he gets the money and then what? Never understood why people do that sort of thing. GLWTS
  8. ...and no Gabe, even if you're paying $600-800 a month for "rent" that is still a bargain. You would be in a position beyond your imagination if they didn't allow their manchild to live in their basement. I hope you never have to find out what they are protecting you from.
  9. I had nothing more to say, but his vicious attitude towards his parents really gets to me, especially considering that he would be homeless, at best, without their generosity. I'm holding back because I do think that Gabe has something going on upstairs, and I no longer take pleasure in dealing out the sort of vocal bashing he deserves. I sincerely hope that Gabe gets the help he needs, and I hope he manages to find the way to responsibility, good ethics, and self-sustainability. I'm sad to see his backward steps.
  10. I think your IQ and interest rate are the same number.
  11. Yep. I think 4.0 is the cutoff, but I wouldn't boldly proclaim as much. I have certainly seen a 4.0 with a detached cover. Someone tried to sell it to me, but I am no fan of rusty staples and detachment. As you mentioned, it was a Golden Age book.
  12. I skipped around and the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. All sorts of misinformation. He doesn't think the grade should be hit for that horribly faded cover? Also, I know for a fact that CGC will give higher grades than 3.0 to certain books with completely detached covers! This guy's got a lot to learn.
  13. I have it at home, not at work. And the CGC Guidelines (unpublished) and Overstreet Guidelines are NOT the same, so it doesn't even matter.
  14. I'm not sure if this is correct. I'm pretty sure the "number grade" can be docked for severe tanning or rotten PQ.
  15. Great post, but everyone has been preaching this same sermon for YEARS. This is getting even more painful. I can't believe it.
  16. Imagine what a killer episode of "Dr. Phil" this would make...
  17. I hate everyone who got a good deal on this book back before it took off like a rocket ship. Seriously, I'm looking for the right time to jump in. I think it's a little overvalued. A high-grade copy is one of my dream books.
  18. I was wondering when you were going to come along and scoop this up!
