  1. You have a link to the auction that ended? OK page from early. For the price, i guess it was a worth it. Not dissing it if someone here picked it up, but it's not like you missed a full page zombie splash with Rick and the Gov.
  2. "On Hold" I thought REALLY long over that one. Even did the ole bank account check to see if I could get away with it. If that was a cover, it'd be the best he's done since 92. Damn, kicking myself now. Oh well, I'm sure James or the Nowell Brothers will keep the page at least public.
  3. Th Negan splash may be the best splash i've seen in a while. Pure bad .
  4. Call me crazy, but I'm really digging this arc. Great issue and I saw the surprise at the end a mile away. Still!
  5. It's the blood on the sword, huh? gross. I think it is alright enough, for what I am sure was a quick sketch. I'm not that big into JSC, though. Being sarcastic, as I don't think it's sexual at all, just the way he draws characters. Certainly wouldn't go where I think you went.
  6. Thought you were talking about this one... This is actually pretty awesome:
  7. Nice perspective. I guess it's the typical case of what I know and love is awesome and what is new sucks. My personal opinion is that TWD IS the next big thing and hands down, the most important modern book. Aside from the price tag...what is it that makes it the next big thing & the most important modern book? personal opinion Care to elaborate? Have you read TWD? I can promise you issues 1-48 are worth a 230+ page thread about debating its longterm relevance. It's great story. Not my favorite, but a great story.
  8. I was hoping that he'd come back with some more observation, but he either found something else to do, or is face down on his keyboard due to a brain embolism. Well now that would just be the cream and a cherry on top, now wouldn't it? GUYS. Stop. Let's get back on topic. Katy and Carmen. Go.
  9. That's when reprints start going for $500... Plus, a true sign of any limited supply with high demand: COUNTERFEITS!
  10. As I was sitting in court reading this, I jump on here to see it posted. The Riley Cooper "lynch pin" was subtle but beautiful. Also, PLEAD GUILTY.
  11. This is a real conversation from CG. I cannot believe this is legit. Sorry, but I find it very hard to believe that buyers of CGC 9.8 and 9.9 copies, at current prices, are buying them as "pure fans". Where are these speculators you speak of that buy at the downward turn of a successful book, who then expect it to double, triple, etc? Is he a bot account? Can't be real. I'm just going to pretend you are an artificial poster because that makes me feel much better.

  13. Reading CG is like reading a PFT Commenter story, only it's legit. Can't handle it. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sbnation/SBNation_20131231_PFT_Commenter_s_2013_NFL_Awards.html
  14. That's what they all say, then the moment XYZ hot comic crashes, and the specs move to ABC hit comic, suddenly it's not so attractive anymore. You know that some of these "specs" are actually fans, right? If someone's getting into TWD now to make money, they're in the wrong biz, my guy. EDIT: Also, Aren't these awful specs part of the process? They make bad investments that make you money. You should be thanking us. YOU'RE WELCOME, JOE.
  15. Even the most idiotic/Kool-aid drinking Walking Dead fan would pick the Action 1 over TWD's. Come on, guys.
  16. You can not quantify what does not exist. I believe you meant fervent fan base. I wrote that exact sentence as a clarifier literally one sentence before in my post. I totally know feverence is a word that doesn't exist, but there are many things that don't exist on these boards, specifically in Comics General! Things like rationality, logic, youth, etc.
  17. Definitely, that's not up for debate. The fact that some think the book is going to plummet to $500 dollars once the momentum dies down is just a little irrational to me.
  18. Agreed. I think you'd be crazy to think the book will keep jumping 15-20% annually. On the flip side, there were some big time sellers on the boards who never thought 9.8's would go past $700. If you ever get bored, check out TWD thread in the Modern section and have a good laugh while looking at the older posts. Lots of people jumping ship and calling the book a flash in the pan around issue 40. Yeesh.
