  1. Today I went to a local flea market early this morning - after when I found an ad on CL saying that there are some old comic books selling in there. Since it was 45 mins drive, I figure "why not? Never know what I'll find while browse". See, on the CL ad - I saw 2 books with a 35 cent price tag variant in one picture. Had confirmed with my list to be positive variant ones.

So... I went and this is what I found and brought. No 35 cents variants! :eyeroll: It figures... someone must had used an old photo to put in the CL ad. But there were couple of venders who has some short/long boxes of derks, some SA/BA/CA comics and moderns. This is what I got for $20.

  2. Cool idea! I'd not mind find one with a date stamp - Oct 25, 1968.

Can be on Marvel, DC, Disney or Archie book.

    Full date or just month/year.

Would like find one with Fantastic Four or Archie cover (if possible).

    Thanks

  3. I think he put these on here to get a feel of how they would sell not knowing we would all go balls crazy over them.

Oh yes... some of us here would give one of our balls just to have one of these cool vintage art boards! Read our posts .. we are all drooling nuts as in "balls crazy-ness" stance. :insane:

I want one of these! Waiting for Pm reply... I can wait with patience. Take your time in sorting, don't rush

  4. So now the 8300 is the beast to get?

Yep, seems to be ... I'm liking my 8300 more, but man it's a beast to move it around. Suggest you make lot of room on your desk ... do you have a BIG desk? lol

Mine was on top of the cabinet next to my desk - no room on desk for the beast!

Well, I`ll be busy scanning a lot of comics all week ahead (thumbs u

  5. I think I got it figured out. I found out if I use "auto fix" on color - it seems to get the correct color and shade just like how the comic book look like in my hand. Here is the test #3 on "Richie Rich Mystery" #2.

It does look good to me.

  6. With the 8300 is there a way to set the color and lighting ahead of time if scanning 100+ comics. I don't want to have to do that after the fact if I can help it.

Good question! That is something I'll find out when I get my new (used) scanner in mail tomorrow. :wishluck:

  7. A few shots of the new Bedrock City vintage comics room, and a chance for a Timely guy to show off a few DC comics...

    dc6.jpg

I could sit in front of these books and stared at them all day! No whining or panting from me, for sure...

Ok, I lied - I want them all! :roflmao:

  8.

The ugly closet where I keep books for sale / sold organizer. Helps me keep my sanity when selling on the boards. Each boardie that makes a claim gets their own section prior to shipping.

Lots more pics of my framed art / comics / sketches later - maybe I'll get that done this weekend.

That is a good idea about having the shelf for boardies assigned for their "claimed" comics. That keeps everything organized. I should use that when I have my own space for my office.

  9. Finally got my scanner upgraded for my new computer so I can post this stuff. Here is my recent buy from my revered LCS, Andy at DvilleBookstore.

    Thanks buddy :hi:

You really went all out in scooping the ASM, eh? I can see you flipping a couple of ASM 129 in near future to recap the price you spent on other ASM above. Good strategy :baiting:

  10. bubblefunnies_zps3b865131.jpg

Was not aware CGC graded these, very cool! (thumbs u

Me too, didn't know CGC do that. In fact, I do have the whole set like this one above - there was Captain America, Hulk, Archie and etc. Total of 6 in this set. I brought them back then when new.

Wonder what they go by value?

  11. Picked a couple of SA Thor comics that I won off from eBay last week. They were in my local area, which made it possible to go pick them in person. That saved me shipping cost. Here is the photo...

Both are in nice condition - somewhere between high VF to VF/NM. Paid $50 for them.

:gossip: ...And the seller let me take a peek to his other (more!) comics in his house, I saw many many more SA marvels. A little "honey-hole" that I'll be visiting back! lol

  12. Got some new comic books in mail since after Christmas to today...

My last purchase of 2013 (from here) - JLA #19 and HoS #66.

And... my first purchase of 2014:

Three nice comics - Little Dot #45, 46 and 47 :whee:

I'll be expecting a few more in the next few weeks or so then. Good start with the new year!

  13. Brought 2 books from Patrick in December (last month) and they come in like he said would be. JLA #19 and HoS #66 are sweet. Hoping to do more business with him soon. Packaging was great and tidy - you'd have no problem with him in selling threads.

    Thanks !!

  14. hm The Campbell statue - Gwen Stacy looks good in her classic style. She's got a nice behind, wonder how she'd look in front? :shy:

Argh! Who am I kidding myself? Must.... resist...from looking. As the Borg would said:

    "Resistance is futile."

Gonna scope for a good deal to buy one! :screwy:

  15. Ok you guys ... can't you slow down with all the bombing of so many photos. Take a good break. If I see another one more photo of a sexy lady-in-statue ... I'll crack down and go out buy a new statue fast! :insane:

I've sticked with small statues within reasonable prices. Now looking at all the photos... I may reconsider in going for a BIG statue! lol

  16. ARRRGH. Marvel will just keep cranking out solid movies with $500mm worldwide as the bar. Fox can keep trying, but failing.

Eventually Marvel will get ahold of it, fold the FF into the cinematic universe and off we go.

I also agree about being better on TV. I think 13 one-hour episodes (or should I say 'issues') and watching it on demand with no commercials is going to trump 3/4 of the comic movies that have been made.

:makepoint: You nailed the point in the TV idea! For years I`ve alway believed that the FF gang is better suited for TV series. There is so much characters within this comic book series that need be built into a great enjoyment to watch.

No 2-hour feature movies are enough to flesh out the major characters in ONE shot! Look to how Star Wars was done and now at 6 movies later ... it's still not enough. Already we're gonna see the 7th movie coming. That is why Marvel is taking their time in paving over with all the Avengers/Iron Man/Thor/Hulk storylines.

Fox will never grasp how it should be. I won't be watching this FF movie. :sumo:
