I went to the counter with my Spicy Detective, but when these ladies looked at me like this I just bought a candy bar and left.

The v01n01 and not a bad copy, but a funky darkish stripe over the center across the center of the book FPS cover.

Maybe overhangs only become much of an issue up above like 6.0?  Definitely very appealing when the right side overhang is intact.
I couldn't even guess what 8.5 or 9.0 on one of these last two would fetch right now.  TA's guess seems high, but I have no idea These late and historically more common pulps seem like such a wildly speculative area right now, definitely seeing prices I wouldn't expect and maybe just maybe I'm understanding the phenom a bit better.

I meant to ask about a postcard I saw in Burke's.  It looks familiar and the back description said only "1940s paperback cover." Anybody recognize the source?  It could easily be a true crime mag cover, too:

Kitschy and off-topic, but I enjoyed some of these new paperback covers' takes on classic films:

looking at the series here just now I understand a bit better what they're about:

The Rudy Nappi OA for Illicit Pleasure just sold this April in the big HA illustration art auction ($2500):

I asked my wife if she thought it would work in the foyer, but no

Interesting cover graphics! Black and white with the title and storyline graphics almost in the mode of a confidential or national police gazette or spy stories or that type of magazine.  Splendid copies as usual
