Not my usual area, but I couldn't pass up some 2 dollar brown paper pbs today at Burke's Books in Memphis

And off topic, but my get of the day (and props to the Mrs. for bearing with during a visit to Burke's as well as Shangri La Records during a day off field trip).  Signed HC copy:

Gordon's It Came from Memphis is tremendous.

Last book in the submit just because you can was the reason behind this one.The cover is a classic good girl art and a Halloween fav for pulp guys who doesn't love a witch like that. This came back a little better than i was thinking so i am happy with the  results until the next submit.

Juxtapoz is one of my favorite from the modern era, it focuses on art...mostly more esoteric stuff. I've got nearly a full run.

Vintage mags I go after are mostly men's mags, there's already an active thread on that topic specifically.

The only tattoo I have, I grifted from a page in an issue of Justapoz, a Polynesion cartoonish piece of "Ku, God Of Rain & War" by Josh Agle , also known as "Shag".on my right shoulder.
I recall getting it done around 25 years ago at a seedy little joint in a strip mall on route 73 in south Jersey.

Here's the cover and an interior page spread from Juxtapoz #1, not my images-just grabbed them off an eBay search.

Fixed that for ya ...... unless, of course, you're not concerned with destroying the market value of your books by ensuring they will be certified as conserved or restored.  In any event, I hope you receive the clarification you seek.

A more insidious vibe on this Finlay double page illo for the lead story.  (Working from the existing scan, not mine, unfortunate red lines, plague of scanners everywhere, from bulb issues or mirror dust on an otherwise lovely scan):

Better "tide lines" than creases - solid structure -I can go with a 5.0 here, I suppose, but would say 4.5 or VG- or "solid VG", lol.  Still so hard to sort out the grading for pulps.
If I see anybody calling this Startling Stories "#61", though, I'm slappin' ya
Who did this cover? Do we know? It's in a string of Bergeys, but I don't necessarily see it (and I admit I'm not always good with the Bergey SF stuff).  A quick search didn't turn up attribution on the web, but surely this has been reproduced in many of the art books...

Fun graphics on the poster.  Nice chance for Californians to get a little pulp con sort of action
But "killer BBQ" and California in the same sentence?

Love Detective Book both for the covers as well as the fiction.  Like a lot of the FH pulps (and long running pulps in general) different eras of covers can have totally different feels.  I've got a bunch of later ones with the George Gross girlie-oriented art, but the earliest run with this one here (from Delos Palmer - he did some excellent covers for the mag) along with William Reusswig, Rafael DeSoto, and some interesting Bergeys is fantastic and I'm guessing pretty hard to get a hold of in any grade.  Interesting there was that early run and then a five year gap before the magazine started up again in 1937 (kicking off with a good number of Saunders covers).  I hadn't noticed this Saunders before (Fall 1938), look familiar?

I'm taking the opportunity to pull one I've had on eBay for months for the keeper pile.  Not a peak copy, but I love both the cover and the content, don't know why I was going to sell it (outside of generally trying to slim down). MINE

Dian Hanson used this one for the cover of her first volume (or maybe a later volume) of The History of Men's Magazines.
