  1. This Harley craze reminds me a lot of the Punisher craze from years ago. Everything Punisher was swooped up but very few of those appearances are worth anything now. They are over-saturating her persona right now to the point of not being cool anymore. I read the Harley and Suicide Squad books and was immediately turned off. The Scooby books and the BA books were much more fun too read. Simpler things prevail in the end.
  2. This year I had a view commissions done for me. Ron Sutton. All around great guy. He has a great sense of figure proportion. The other was done by an artist from Montreal, GenvieveFT.
  3. 60 copies of the Gwenpool variant? I was thinking IH 181. Something you know that will increase and hold value.
  4. I want but really over $1k Do you know what I could buy for that?
  5. Can you imagine what that translates into cash? 359 times 1800 476 times 900 ...
  6. GPA gives a ballpark number for cased comics. It's debatable as to whether you get your money bag from it.
  7. Yes, I would call it a 9.2 myself. You can look up the graders notes and see it also mentions something on the back even though ComicLink won't provide the scan. It's still a pretty nice copy though.
  8. I have a couple of off-white/white that says otherwise but it doesn't bother me. I'm curious about the DD7. I am confident their grading is in the ballpark, whether or not it receives the same grade by CGC is another thing. I am more interested in the book personally although I doubt I'll even end up bidding on it in the end. Alas, no DD books to bid on for a while. To the newbie, regarding the pence copies, I am not really sure what it does to the value. I think a google search and some reading will help, or a general post to 'Comics General'. Don't let the flip responses bother you, they are expected. I would guess that some people don't like them (like I do), much like they don't like date stamps or distributor ink (also a peeve of mine, though I own copies with both).
  9. "If a train left New York at 300 miles per hour, and accelerated speed 15 miles per hour, and traveled a distance of 683 miles, tell me sir: what time would that train reach Chicago?!"
  10. DD 54 has more relevance to a DD completionist. It is also on my list, but I can wait. Pretty nice raw copies of this already exist, they just haven't been submitted yet. There are a lot of other books like this in the series. I think this was the beginning of the end of Karen Page.
  11. Are you sure it isn't the way they encapsulate in general? I find I buy books that somehow easily shift during shipping. They don't look like the pic from the seller and come off-kilt. I am thinking they need to make the cases a tad more snug to prevent that. I don't think it happens when they enclose per se.
  12. I submitted some books at the beginning of August. I am sweating it out about the grades too, but for those older books, I think it's a bit understandable if they fall a bit lower.
  13. awesome pickups. Ummm 9.2's are still pretty sweet.
  14. I don't have readers. I have had the whole run raw before, so that's something I've experienced. It's pretty cool to be able to go through them like that. None of the books I've submitted for my Daredevil run have been pressed by me (I'm sure some of them have been pressed!) Most of the books I've submitted were earlier on in building my run when I could go to a con, dig through boxes and spot decent candidates out of a list of like, 50 or 100 books. These days, that would take a small miracle for the small number of books I have left. To that point: I am actually going to submit two books that are being worked on right now. I have a 122 that had a weird crumple that was able to be pressed out and the 69 I have that went from a Voldemort 9.4 to a CGC 9.2 on resub. My set is a combo of raw/cgc/(other 3rd party) books. I haven't bothered to sub any books or resub the other 3rd party books for financial reasons. I want to crack out the slabs, but it would be easier to sell them later in the slab if I needed to for any reason. It would be nice to slab also like you have for the registry, but financially that takes a lot as well. I just have to be satisfied with having as high grade collection as I can. I think it would be relatively easy to get a reader set though, not that you need to. I have all the comics in digital form and love to read them on the iPad. Love your set by the way Great work with the scans.
  15. Hi Rob, do you go to the trouble of pressing your raws before slabbing them? Do you have a reader set in mylars to look at also? Other than the registry, looking at them close up bagged and boarded is pretty neat also.
  16. Who else is suffering under Modern Tier (not fastrack)? How long have you been waiting?
  17. (thumbs u It's nice to see them laid out like that.
  18. Are we forgetting there was a Howard the Duck movie that did very bad? At least Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner were hot. Has anyone on here actually seen the film that can give a spoiler-free review. I went through 40 pages and can't see anything other that the avg rating from other critics pages.
  19. I remember when we could start movie threads in CG before it was used and abused.
