  1. Good DD issue. I remember how difficult it was for me to find that book in the grade I wanted. I wish today's art was as good. Fun read. Nice copy.
  2. If it's any consolation I have a 30% disparity with the exchange rate to deal with presently.
  3. Because some people buy comics to read them? I think many people have lost sight of this. Comics to read. What a novel idea... When I look at the huge numbers for DKIII and the other Marvel #1s which are a dramatic increase in the numbers for any month that I can recall, I am thinking this is all speculation driven. I am more than happy that more people are reading their books but I think more people are looking to flip their books for a profit. Constantly resetting the book numbers takes a hit on the continuity of the book itself, not that Marvel and DC were good at keeping one. I am starting to think a bust in the CB market is happening because this is now starting to remind me of the 90s, and after some incredible prices I have seen for comics in recent years, I am now starting to see a dip in the values those books used to obtain. I don't dispute your fact about the variants making up the numbers but I have had more than big dealer tell me they walk away from getting some of those incentive variants because of the order they need to put in.
  4. I rather enjoy Heritage over all the auction houses now. Prices are indeed variable like an auction should be and not perpetually hitting new GPAs like CLink auctions always do. Their scans are great with back cover scans on higher priced items. Their customer service is good. I can call someone on the phone and get a straight answer whenever I need to reach them.
  5. I have to say I don't understand why people keep buying into the issue 1 gimmick by Marvel. The last recent #1 that has taken off in price is Batman New 52 which is still ongoing after 5 yrs. Then maybe Harley Quinn in her series. First appearances are a better bet from an investment standpoint: Spider-Gwen and Silk.
  6. I hope it's nice in person. I still have so many to close out the entire run. Doesn't look like it will happen this year.
  7. cgc 9.6, white pager. I don't have the book or a pic yet. I don't know if a board member won it. I saw that it had bid up to $720 in days and sold more or less around that value. It didn't look like there was much back and forth. I am guessing the person who won it put such a high bid down that scared all potential bidders with an immediate outbid.
  8. I splurged and bought the DD Annual 1 from WW. I haven't seen any DDs worth tracking on auction. I wanted your #69 but wasn't going to break the bank on it.
  9. I also gave up at episode 2. Too many other things to take away my attention. For TV entertainment, DD, Gotham, and Agent Carter are enough. I have enough trouble catching up with all those episodes. Flash, Arrow, Supergirl... none of those shows do anything for me either.
  10. I thought Gordon was a goody-two-shoes. What's happening to modern tv and cinema these days? It's ok to go over the line. I am not going to take things too seriously but that was one part of the finale I didn't care about.
  11. This show never seems to unimpress with shock value.
  12. I would actually prefer Bieber to the dweeb playing boy Wayne.
  13. I don't think it's a bad show from the two episodes I saw but there are a list of other things I would prefer to watch first. Given the broad range of responses so far I don't think the show is a clear winner overall.
  14. This show is a downer. Two straight episodes of grief. I like the characters and the tone of the show but the storytelling is really slow. Kilgrave sounds too omnipotent. If I recall his abilities wear off shortly after the person is separated from him. His ability to force people to do things is overstated here otherwise frankly who can stop him. The main character who plays her is alright but I have a tough time believing she can beat up on anyone. So far this show feels kind of seedy without any sign of hope. Yes DD is way better. In fact, the best thing on TV. Agent Carter is really good also, with Gotham behind it because of its' shock value.
  15. Uh no, but I hesitate to predict anything on this show except if there is a chance someone will die in a scene, he probably will.
  16. I like the show too but if it was more like the first 5 episodes of season 1 I would have preferred it to the campi-ness that came after.
  17. I think the reason people watch is for all the over-the-top deaths, sometimes multiple deaths per episode. No one can die quickly. It started off really well with in the first season, and degraded like many have said to a ' Tracy' like feeling. I can't place what era this show is supposed to take place in. There is flip cell-phones but sometimes it looks like it's an earlier time. If not for the gruesomeness of the show, I am not sure anyone would keep watching. It should revolve back around Gordon and Harvey mostly. Boy Wayne annoys the mess out of me. 5 episodes in a row and the good guys have done nothing. Penguin has done more. Very 'Dark Knight Rises' feeling going about the show. They're using up all the rogues gallery for Batman. How could there ever be a Batman series now?
  18. Bronze Modern Silver Copper Golden (at least from a SuperHero perspective)
  19. I'll say Batman. Although on a given day it can change from Superman to Daredevil too.
  20. Just the ones l like for cover/art. Some exceptions for a first character appearance where I actually like the character such as Silk.
  21. That's a nice one. If I didn't have a nice copy of that one I would have been tempted to try... but ComicLink ends in 2 wks
  22. Sounds like a question for a dealer but from what I have heard, dealers are shy about some of the numbers they need to order to get those variants. So I doubt it moves numbers all that much.
