  1. Really? I think I throw away my copy after reading it… or maybe I did not even purchased it. This speaks lengths on how Marvel ruined itself for a short-term gain… The movies are obviously another product. I don’t care at all about them, but they are aimed to a generic public, and I wonder who will remember them.
  2. I think Met is pretty spot-on on this… And I was joking… I’m not a big fan of FF#4 compared to others, but it is a very cool issue indeed. (thumbs u
  3. Fantastic Four #1 Fantastic Four #2 Fantastic Four #3 Fantastic Four #4 Fantastic Four #5 Fantastic Four #6 Fantastic Four #7 Fantastic Four #8 Fantastic Four #9 Fantastic Four #10 (Just trolling, but these threads make me laugh)… That’s your problem… (Agreed on the others anyway, all three of them).
  4. That’s a very nice cover – and apparently some Harenchi Gakuen (or some other early Go Nagai it seems). Which magazine is that one? An antologic title?
  5. BTW, be patient and I will fix you on the italian Cap #111.
  6. I have to say... that Japanese Cap #111 would look great next to my Mexican and South African ones. Good luck with Henro! BTW, he nicely allowed me to repost the Cap, so I’ll throw it in in the SA Foreign thread! (thumbs u
  7. I mean: is there a tradition of vintage comics dealers in Japan? It was difficult for me to figure it out, but again I bought my book from a private collector when there was a lot less on the Internet and on eBay. I think I may have already showed this to you, but here it is anyway: the 1957 supplement to Shounen, with the second part of the "Yellow Horse" Astro Boy story "Duel on the Alps" – I would love to find more early Astro Boy stories, either on the Shounen regular issues and/or supplements. About the Woo magazine: I was mostly speaking for Tim, which recently got the South-African edition of that Steranko Cap. See here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7456274#Post7456274 (and please post your Woo there as well – or I will do so! )
  8. Man, these Kobunsha's FFs are really sweet! (of course we know these are the most "common" japanese editions but anyway: very sweet!)
  9. I think that Woo will give you serious problems with Tim (i.e. he will track you down TO DEATH unless you sell it to him…) Seriously, they are awesome. Do you know japanese? The only time I managed to purchase a vintage comic from Japan it was a nightmare (well, it’s a 1957 book but nonetheless…)
  10. To add to the inconsistency of CGC notes when grading foreign editions, I post a pair of italian books YKOil has had signed recently. Only the Daredevil is correctly reported as an italian edition, and both of the publisher names are wrong…
  11. Check the Silver Age foreign editions thread for some FFs sweetness, starting here …
  12. imgur also provide clickable thumbnails of various sizes – it just takes a little to be discovered, as features are pretty much "buried", unless I am missing something… And… no, you surely won’t annoy anyone in this particular thread…
  13. 01TheDude: You can easily have the desired image sizes "on the fly" from imgur URLs: just add a letter to the file name, like "h", "l" or "m" (respectively for high, large, medium). Example (with "h" added at the end of the URL): http://i.imgur.com/Ubfp7Vzh.jpg gives you this
  14. I would not even know from where to start, but maybe Tim or Matthew can help you…
  15. Beautiful John Carter of Mars (love the story) and the Spidey #4 is always so sweet… (thumbs u I have just received a batch of purchases, among them these two first appearances of soviet villains (I am trying to collect the timeline of all the soviet characters, although I know I’ll never buy a first Black Widow: too hyped ). I have to thank the amazing boardie Comicalgems (Jason) for these two…
  16. OK, as promised to Porcupine, here’s the third appearance of Superman in Italy, from september 1939. More info in the GA foreign editions thread:
  17. Thanks, not yet ready but hopefully I’ll have something to post later on. (thumbs u
  18. Will do, when I get it. (thumbs u I’d also like to open a similar discussion for foreign editions in Golden Age – an acquaintance of mine just acquired some early Batman and Centaur books from the late 1930s and 1944-45, super-rare stuff and the very early publications of comic book material here.
  19. Have you bothered to read what I posted before, Logan? Because here it seems most people are just worried more to vent what goes through their brain, or arbitrarily contradict others, instead of examining the situations in a reasonable way, which could be also helpful to set aside momentary "judgements" and see what can be done for other people, and not only the possible "damage" they have done. Said this, this is definitely the worst facet of this forum, and the biggest issue is that some seem to be proud of it…
  20. Or at least read the thread in full. Or move on at least from one of the TWO threads…
  21. Only 60 new posts? I have strong doubts everyone has read each and every post in these 1258 pages before writing… +10 Gazillion No. Before fantasy takes hold to an unpredictable degree, this is not right at all: he may have bought and sold a million books, but he obviously cared for the content. As I stated in a previous post of mine he asked for advice on reading, and nicely accepted it and got involved in conversation about the stories and the characters (totally irrelevant issues if he was that teenage monster coming out of the picture… And as long as you are not even sure he was him or his father posting on Facebook, most of the considerations are arbitrary to say the least…
