  1. If you can manage to read FF#66-67 (or better, FF #65-67) and Thor #165-166 and you will be able to judge for yourself. As I never tire to explain, the Thor story is of little relevance to Warlock’s development as a character. If you have to choose, a Marvel Premiere #1 is a lot more important than Thor #165.
  2. What a coincidence! – this was Hado’s first avatar!
  3. Sorry to hear that CB, I learned to calculate times with a wide margin, as with overseas it is even more unpredictable (and I can’t phone Metropolis, or better I won’t… ). Best luck and have a serene Christmas! (thumbs u
  4. Out of curiosity, a member of the italian forum I participate in just posted this, which is the very first italian edition of Batman (very likely unauthorized). I had a few (non Batman) issues of this series which are now in possession of SACentaur (Steve) and RyanH. Publishes a traced (redrawn) version of Detective #29. This is 8 pages and pocket sized, a really poor publication. These are VERY rare.
  5. Last but not least, a forum member just posted on the italian comics forum I belong to the very first actual Batman italian edition, published very likely without permission, in 1945. I had a few (non Batman) issues of this series which I gave to SACentaur (Steve) and RyanH. Publishes a traced (redrawn) version of Detective #29. This is 8 pages and pocket sized, a really poor publication. These are VERY rare.
  6. I think Matt would appreciate the poster which came with ASE #28:
  7. Here’s how the ASE #1 (complete with poster and sticker) would look like if you have $150-250 to spare…
  8. The book originally contained a sticker and a poster, and it usually goes for insane prices when a copy including these surfaces. Here’s how the sticker looked like (I do not ow it):
  9. The italian Defenders #4 – ASE #28. I love how they turned into picture frames books that were no longer in picture frames, and vice-versa, and love the color.
  10. These are awesome, tab – 1942 is a Golden year.
  11. No need to repeat that Chuck is awesome, but I guess it does not hurt – my friend Define999 just received the Spideys I bought from him, and said they were "professionally packed". (thumbs u
  12. This is a lovely idea… I guess that CAHokie would love to have this issue.
  13. May be, but juding from what we have seen of the affected areas, many people do not even have an house anymore, so they wouldn’t be concerned about any possession which is not essential to survival – I don’t know the mileage of the Philippines, but I wouldn’t feel much calm if it was so close to Italy… In fact I have had my blood pressure altered because of the earthquake last year, and it never settled back to its normal value, so I can’t even imagine how those poor people are feeling now.
  14. More important, since no one spoke about it, I’d love to hear from our Philippine colleagues if they have had, or have, some relative in the typhoon-ravaged parts of the state.
  15. Same feeling when I picked the #8, and it was signed by Jack when I went to his home, so double elation! (see in the PGM forum, as I just posted a picture of the insides).
  16. Hi archer, welcome to the boards! (thumbs u Your informations are very interesting, but I am wondering why they are so hard to get even in the Philippines? Did they have small print runs, or maybe most people just did not pick them back then, and most got trashed? Define is not filipino, but he collects mostly foreign editions, and Star Wars #1 is one of his favorite books, so I guess he would love to have your copy.
  17. Not sure how this relates to PIMPs, if I get the slang meaning of the word correctly… Anyway, I’m going to post more of these… watch out for them in the PGM section. (thumbs u Here’s another for Ches: early italian story (one of the legendary seven 1930s-40s stories written by Federico Pedrocchi): interior art is crude, but covers are wonderful. This is another title, "Gli Albi d’Oro", larger size than the average comic book, it published long, classic newspaper stories (like "The Plumber's Helper", and many early Mickey long stories), and in this case reprinted an italian long story from Pedrocchi involving Clarabelle Cow – first collected edition.
  18. Just posted this from my collection in the PGM forum. The series mostly presented newspaper gag strips (not the longer adventures which were presented in another series). This is from 1937, I started collecting those when I was 16 but stopped time ago. I have a 35-40% of the series.
