I bought this one raw off of ebay for cheap (about $10, I think). Came back tied for 2nd highest. I think I have posted it in the war thread previously. My #15 is a Manitoba from Sulipa - prolly a 9.2-9.4, I would think if slabbed. WWT is the horror/war title I have had the most fun collecting. I have about 9 issues to go and then some random upgrades. One day I'll pop for a nice eye-appeal VF+ #1.

But aren't you the only one who does this?

Just got nine books from an ebay dealer - Sgt. Rock 368-376. The 370 is the only one I need to upgrade. I thought it would be easier to get the Rocks from 350 on up in decent shape. It is a biatch. I guess because the book guides for so low at that point it isn't worth it for dealers/sellers? Or is it the print runs for war in the 80s? Here are a couple of the cooler covers: Sgt. It is a toughie, I was surpsied to see so many 9.6s (3) in the census. I don't think I have ever seen any of them for sale. That copy was an upgrade from Sulipa. I like getting nice slabbed copies to go with any original art I have. Good luck with the #20. I think I might throw the 9.2 up on ebay and see if there is any interest for sub 9.4s. We'll see...

Bored and up late, so a couple more from that batch I just got back... Ghosts #20 (2nd Highest Graded): And Weird Mystery Tales #8. Wish I had the top census for this one (2nd highest again like the Ghosts 20). One of, if not, my favorite Luis Dominguez covers. I am very happy (and grateful) to have the original art for this one hanging in my home office.

CGC does not denote Cardy as the cover artist on the 141 label. But it is listed here as being one of his: Cardy Horror Covers

I meant before this auction. Looked familiar for some reason. Still seems really low for a Cardy. I am watching that one too. Much cooler than the Heritage LD cover that is up now.

I was unfamiliar with the seller, but was surprised by the low ending price. Cardy covers are usually pretty sought after. Was this one up recently?

Incremental shiller!!! Stick to hoarding Bats 227 and lay off the DC war books!!! I have learned my lesson and will stick to my side of the fence! ....for now. It WAS such a high dollar book .... He then graciously let me win some restored Weird Wars... Did those turn out to be restored/trimmed? The Bats 244 went out a few days ago for a refund.... The seller is NARU'ed, but the 10 came back unrestored and accurately graded. The WWT 8 didn't make the 9.2 pre-screen (he had it at a VF/NM, I believe). Wish I would have won more.
