  1. Well got my standard Turtlemania in today and needless to say it's not "mint". I've scanned it and put it below. It looks to have stains on the front and back with some slight rust it seems on the staples. Was this common with these books? I don't know if you can clean books or if it would help. Needless to say my 9.8 hasn't ended.
  2. Just got these in today...should make for some good reading tonight. Ultimate Colletion 1 thru 5
  3. Wow! That's awesome! I've been wanting to get all 4 graded and set into a nice display. Looks great!
  4. I made a rash decision and thought I'd sell my FF1, X-Men, and others and go for Gobbledy. Fortunately, it went way high and I'm not stressing right now The turtle lover in me takes over sometimes. Nice stuff Chad! Thanks! Yeah I honestly thought it was going to top out around 4,300 or so and it just kept going.
  5. Well, I didn't win the Gobbledygook. My max was $5500 and just missed. Really wanted that book, it's a grail for sure. Picked up a few prints I had framed so that help heal some wounds. This is the 30th anniversary print. It's signed by four artists Kevin, Peter, Steve and Jim Lawson. Low number also! I tried something different with this one as I had it framed and with four mats. Leonardo being my favorite his mat is biggest followed by the other brothers. It doesn't show as well using my phone but I promise it's unique. This is the '14 SDCC poster that's signed by Kevin. I went with green on this mat. Now, this one is really cool in person. My phone doesn't show the detail but this print is great. It's for the 2014 movie and detail is amazing!
  6. Looks like the Gobbledygook is going to go higher than I thought. I'm wondering if one were to get the book how would you know that it's fake? I'm assuming you would have to crack it open right?
  7. Also, does anybody collect the TMNT Archie books? I was looking at maybe starting a run but noticed the TMNT Adventures set is a little messed up. I thought there was only Volume 1 and 2. Volume one being a 3 issue series? Seems they have them all grouped together but somebody has a scan of the Volume 1 #1. Confusing.
  8. Man I can't wait to watch this! Gonna pile up tonight and put this on for sure.
  9. Just won this beauty, can't wait to get it in and framed.
  10. "CGC can be a hassle." Says the seller hiding something... Best guess it would top out at a 5; maybe could press higher. I would really worry about color touch... It's not just that, I don't think that book is a first print is it?
  11. Anybody see what's wrong with this one? First Print Cheap!!
  12. These were just small digest-sized books that showcased different independent comic artist's work. You can read the inside front and back covers of these on my collection website for more information about these. Also, there were 50 sets of green Limited Edition copies that are very rare and extremely hard to find. You can see those (along with the B&W versions) using this link. Independent Comic Book Sampler Oh wow! I'd love to have that #2 right there. It is a cool book though. It would be neat to try and get it signed by everybody on the list.
  13. Anybody know that this is? I've never seen one. Looks cool though. Independent Comic
  14. Yep, it's not as much about the money as it is the authenticity of the item in question.
  15. Exactly, honestly if I knew 110% that this book had no restoration done at all and was a legit copy then I'd go after it. It doesn't bother me about that grade. I can look at that book in the slab and know it's about a 5.5 or 6. I'm just worried it's had restoration done or a counterfeit. What to do..what to do....
  16. Thanks! I only said that about PGX because a few years back I bought a DimePress first appearance of HellBoy graded at 8.5 for higher than I should have. Later sent it in to CGC and it came back a purple label and a 7.0.
  17. I have two questions though. 1) Can CGC not grade this book(I don't know the actual size of it.) 2) How are we sure this isn't rigged? I for some reason don't trust this book being graded PGX. Color touch not being recognized and we all know it won't grade a 9.0 with CGC, if they can or could grade it.
  18. Thanks guys! So who is going to bid on this bad boy? Any guesses on how high it gets? Gobbledygook
  19. Now, here is the stuff I just got in from Adam(Peter Palmer). He is a pleasure to deal with and just a great guy all around. Thanks again for selling me this stuff, it's just gorgeous and will be a staple in my collection.
  20. I'll be doing two posts for some new goodies. Here is the first set.
  21. I honestly think most of their books are overpriced. As kpaqu1 mentioned, that book is a consignment and the price is set by the consignor. Also, we've sold a raw VF- of that issue for $115 and FN- for $63 within the past couple of weeks (both of those were also consignments). You can extrapolate from there what you think a CGC 9.8 should sell for if you were the consignor. Oh, yeah I would list it for that price too then. Sorry I wasn't calling ya'll out or anything at all. I didn't know consignments were on eBay also. I just haven't read that series and saw those issues were that high and was just puzzled. Thanks for clearing it up though! (thumbs u
