  1. If you mean that we will ever see <$25 Saga RRP books, then I totally agree! Seth
  2. For the first time there are no Saga RRPs being auctioned on eBay, as there haven't been any new copies listed this week. Last one sold for $184.
  3. Speaking of, demand for the Saga RRP remains strong. An auction just closed at >$190... Seth
  4. Just over 50 have sold so far in a little over two weeks on ebay.
  5. Saga RRPs still selling strong in the $160-$170 range. Still five currently listed, but I wonder how much longer we will see a steady stream of copies being auctioned before supply starts to dry up... Seth
  6. Yeah, be wary of any seller named b**s with ~219 feedback. We might be seeing this copy listed again just as soon as he receives it and sees the condition it is in...
  7. Done, although I don't think he travels these boards. He did win another RRP auction today. That bugger probably has more copies than me and is willing to pay around $175 each to get them. Told me his intention was to sit on them with no plans to sell. At least that means another big chunk of supply is being taken off the market...
  8. Agree, but to be clear, it wasn't me but 'comiconart!!' who was getting scammed by 'the-alientuna'. The Saga RRP copy to be avoided is below, which looks like he simply relisted it... http://www.ebay.com/itm/150808224552?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  9. Here is what comiconart!! told me about the transaction... As far as I can tell, it's the same one. Not only was it poorly packaged and badly bent in transit(plain manila envelope between two thin pieces of cardboard), it also had two very visible FINGERPRINTS on her nose (as if someone had pinched it hard enough to remove the ink, and then left that ink fingerprint elsewhere on the cover). I contacted the seller as soon as I received it, and sent him pictures detailing the damage. He responded with, "sorry, we only accept refunds if the item is returned to us in the same condition as when we shipped it out". He then went on to explain that his local "comic book guy" shipped the book, and he's been in the business for over 20 years, so he's sure it couldn't possibly be their fault. I opened a complaint with eBay, and he said that he would accept a return for a refund. I sent the book back, and then he tells me that this mysterious "comic book guy" of his is now telling him that I have swapped the book out on them, and it's not the same copy that they sent me. He then asked if I could have gotten it confused with another copy, and that he doesn't want to believe it, but it's Steve's opinion (that ever-mysterious "comic book guy" once more) that I am in the business of cornering the market on lesser copies to then buy mint copies off of eBay and swap them out in returns in order to make a profit. As if that wasn't bad enough, he also told me that the fingerprints weren't there when they sent it to me (even though I specifically pointed the fingerprints out to him, and he said he'd take it back). I was livid. First of all, the very idea is ridiculous. We are talking about a book with a print run of 500. Where does one go to "corner the market" on low-grade copies...? How much money is there to be made this way? I opened a claim, he refunded my money, and then I saw he relisted the book while carefully failing to mention the condition issues so he could cheat someone else. Wasn't about to let that happen. - comiconart!!
  10. Beware this copy of Saga RRP Looks like comiconart!! may have return this copy already to this seller because of poor packaging and damage. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150808224552?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Seth
  11. I just tried to help you by making an offer of $200 on his auction but he wasn't a very good friend to you. He rejected the offer. I tried. Seth
  12. If you (err, your "friend") wants to really do it up, why stop at having them double-signed? Maybe you could get Fiona and BKV to sign each book 15 times each...? Maybe my noob lingo is not so good yet. I (err... my friend) was wanting them each to sign them once. I thought that was what double signed meant...
  13. Now, let's hypothetically say I had a friend who had 15 copies of the Saga RRP. Anyone have a suggestion on how that said friend could go about getting those double signed and slabbed?
  14. Haha. $410 for a Saga 1 9.8 SS. Crazy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Saga-1-CGC-SS-9-8-SIGNED-Brian-K-Vaughn-Fiona-Staples-1st-print-Image-2012-/160787815706?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item256fb35d1a
  15. One of my Saga RRPs arrived this past week in a floppy bubble envelope without even a comic board in the mylar. The seller should be ebay banned from selling comic books... Will see if dry cleaning can salvage it, but it was my first non-NM or greater copy.
  16. Yeah, can you believe the nerve of some people?
  17. a**t with 6559 feedback picked up several more Saga RRPs today. Seen that buyer pick up more than 10 auctions alone, excluding buy-it-nows. Looks like someone else is hoarding a bunch of copies... Anyone know who this is?
  18. Fixed. In a series that has a first issue with a 40K print run and no OA extant, you have to think that the 500 copy variant has some legs. It's the only high-end item for collectors/fans of this book. Also, the comps to other RRPs are a bit off, IMO. What other RRP is the first issue of a major series, containing all of the key first appearances? Of course the flaw in my argument is that Saga is only on the second issue and can't be called a 'major series' at this point That said, I'll take my chances with BKV. Of course, but that is why the price has skyrocketed so quickly. Enough people see the possibility that this could be a 'major' series to know that by the time it is widely recognized as such it will be too late to get a reasonably priced Saga 1 RRP. That said, many think it is beyond the reasonable price point already...
  19. Definitely. Two more copies sold yesterday in the $150-$175 range and there are now only 9 left on eBay as the original wave is about done. I would say that your bet that this will be a $25 book went from the standard bet to a long shot. You were right that there are lots of RRPs that are readily available and not that collectible, but I think this one is looking more like the Fables 6, Batman 608 exceptions. Considering the size of Saga 1 printing, I think the 500 copies of Saga RRP will be the only real collectible issue from this series. The only way I see this ever going back to $25 is if this series absolutely bombs, and based on the quality of the first two issues, I don't see that being likely. I say the chances of this book ever averaging $25 is about 5 percent or less now. At what point would you agree or would you stubbornly say, "just wait" even if this thing started selling at "WD#1 prices"? Seth
  20. Hmm. There seems to be another player out there soaking up RRP copies. Whoever a**t is on eBay has won at least five of the last seven or so auctions between $130-$170 each...dang speculators. How greedy of them.
  21. Definitely. Selling your own copy at a $25 Buy-It-Now price to prove a point doesn't count...
  22. Sales today: $159 $181 Currently 11 more still out for auction, and they are completing faster than new copies are being listed. Branget, you still think we will see $25 for the Saga RRP?... BTW, I never got my 20-25 copies. I did get 12 at any average cost of $80, of which 10 are in NM+ condition, so those will be shipped out to get slabbed next week. Unless prices take a serious turn, I think I am content with what I picked up... Seth
  23. Oh, you mean that one time you went too far? Yeah, we all remember that 'one' thread. Thanks for narrowing it down for us... Reminds me of that thread where I asked a noobish question. Seth
  24. Lots of activity on the RRP front this weekend... $115 $134 $143 for a VF copy $146 $160 $164 $176 Average price now getting above $150...
