  1. I got my first two Saga RRPs yesterday (NM+....yes!) and was slobbering over cover art. Too bad Fiona isn't currently selling any of those... Seth
  2. Wait. Isn't SPOON just a British word for *SPOON*? Seth
  3. Yessir! I will only post about Saga stuff on here moving forward. Just know that I was making fun of myself in the last post, tongue firmly planted in cheek. Focused again, though, and back on topic! Thank you for the rebuke. -- Here is an update on Saga RRP ebay sales: 4/18 No sales 4/19 $115 (2 copies with condition stated as 'at least fine') 4/19 $120 NM copy Seth
  4. Haha, yes, I was mocking the first one. I launch businesses for a Fortune 50 company. At least, that's my day job. Seth
  5. Hmm, good thing I don't work in sales... How about this instead? -- So are you going to bid, or are you too chicken?? Seth
  6. Here you go my friend. I have officially listed one of my two original covers of Y: The Last Man (#22) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120898634833 Good luck making the jump from Kitty Cat to Lion! Seth
  7. I am a fan of Fables 6 RRP. Can I buy yours?
  8. Corner the print run? That sounds greedy.
  9. How did you live with yourself? Depriving people like that?
  10. I might do both. Depends on how much they sell for... Seth
  11. Haha. I don't mind being the evil hoarder, but what I actually want is around 20-25 copies. I have 9 now, so I am getting close. Of those, I plan on getting them pressed and slabbed and then will keep the highest graded copies and maybe will let go of the lower grades. My risk is that everyone I get could be junk. Even if I kept all 25, that would be 5 percent of the total print run, hardly enough to swing prices over the long run. That said, I probably did have something to do with the current prices being at $150, but once people realize that I won't be buying copies forever, the price will come back down. The reason I jumped on it initially is that it gets harder to find supply after the next couple months. Look at Fables 6 RRP. It is really rare to even see an auction for one now and the cost is steep for each one... Seth
  12. What about the other 250 who are getting a significantly more valuable collectible because it is more rare than anticipated? They get the benefit of my neurosis. Depriving people is what makes comics have value. I didn't invent that.
  13. Haha. I said that is my 'want' to have. I want to have the most 9.8 YTLMs#1s in existence. I want to have the most Fables 6 RRPs. I want to have the most Saga 1 RRPs. I am not bold enough to say I am there on any of those fronts yet, but I was showing that I am working on it... Starting next year, I plan to work on putting together some nice registry sets as well. If I could fully explain why, then it would be easier, and less costly, to get therapy for it... Seth
  14. Hard to explain. I only have a couple of titles that I buy, so my dollars aren't spread around. When it comes to limited print runs of my favorite comics, I really enjoy knowing that I have the most extensive collection. It's hard, because the registry doesn't really reward multiple copies, rather completeness of a series. In my heart, I don't really care about having YLTM#37 in 9.8, but I like having four 9.8 copies of YLTM#1... Saga#1 RRP will probably be the only true scarce, high demand comic that this series will ever have. If I could own half of them, I would... Seth
  15. Anybody see any Saga RRPs sell today? If they did, they got by me.
  16. ...said the guy with no YTLM original covers... Why would I need a measly signed comic book when I have the original comic covers to, not one, but two YTLM issues? Seth
  17. Honestly, I don't really like signed comics. If it wasn't for the added SS registry bonus, I don't think I would really consider them...
  18. Yeah, probably has something to do with it, but it is the truth. If somebody had 100 copies at $50 today, I would probably make a deal to get all of them. The Lex Luther in me would ideally want to track down every known copy and slab it. Does that make me evil? In a limited run, even one or two people can affect the price. Similar to when a big buyer puts a floor in for a stock. Seth
  19. My goal isn't to turn around and sell these. I simply like this series and want to have as many copies of the most collectible book it will probably have. Same reason I have four copies of Fables 6 RRP and nine copies of YTLM#1 (four 9.8s). Seth
  20. Yeah, I snagged any copies I could near $50 (averaged $65 for my eight copies). Was hoping to get 20+ but people started buying copies at $125-$150 and now all of the auctions are hoping for that amount or more. Am now waiting to see if another wave appears online after the current auctions run their course. I might be willing to throw money around, but current asking prices are too much for even me...
  21. I am a collector. A hoarder. I would never dream of selling them. Unless somebody offered me enough money. Then I might. Seth P.S. I still only have eight so far...
  22. Wow. Somebody got swindled... Letting those go for a measly $300?
  23. You don't need one of mine. There are perfectly good auctions open right now. Here is a link to a copy for just $150 that is in VF condition with a bent corner. What a bargain. http://www.ebay.com/itm/270959125116?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
