  1. Hey Maybe we can get that signature " expert " from Pawn shop. On second thought, lets not.
  2. And how do you know this? He gave an answer earlier in the thread. Still doesn't prove anything unless he knows him personally or something. I didnt say it proved anything, but hes not gonna have a different answer for 50 people who ask him the same question is he ?
  3. And how do you know this? He gave an answer earlier in the thread.
  4. We're having a Day the Earth stood still talk in the sf contest in the WC. So of course im gonna say. Klaatu Barada Ditko.
  5. Im just curious, how does one find out for sure its the secretary ? I know its done, but isnt the purpose of a signature is that the real person signs it ? Maybe im naive in my old age.
  6. i remember a few months ago someone asked for the address and i went searching,i was the one who provided a link for a gazillion celebrities addresses. It took me all of 2 minutes to find Ditko. When you google the words Steve Ditko email, its the very first one. http://www.fanmail.biz/56689.html
  7. Wait, Law enforcement,IRS AND ebay ? I'm betting not one iota of progress.
  8. Thanks a lot DiceX. Wonder if anyone knows anything about what happened since that Starlog-Fangoria warehouse burned down. Are there any other warehouses with file copies back issues ? Did they have some sort of redundancy plan or backup media files ? Or are they really all gone and all thats left are collector's collections around the world ? I read this was all a financial trouble- insurance scam thing.
  9. In my view, what made Fangoria pretty heavy was the fact that Starlog who had been out for some time only dealt with scifi mainly and therefore had no real punch in regards to the images. But Fango, man. Every month had a wealth of gory picture after gory picture. One of my buddies would invariably get it before me,and would always ring me up to invite me over and look at some exploding bloody head or something. And i truly believe since i was the nerd bringing these to school,i saved myself from a few beatings cause my magazine would inevitably go around the whole class and back to me. so the tuff guys were either thinking Ben's a really cool guy with his monster mags or... He's some smiling psycho, and we wouldnt dare try and kick his azz for fear of retribution. You'll notice i didnt post # 1.Its the only one that wins the dog-eared award for the cover. I'll have to find a mint copy somewhere.
  10. Ok,so i take it this is now the official Fangoria thread. Well, then, the only thing i can say is this. Hello,my name is Ben and i'll be your pix dealer for this evening. Here ya go ya junkies !
  11. I've never read one Agatha book,so if you nice people could recommend one in the pile i should start with,it would be appreciated. I have a few other pics to post later on today with some other stuff.
  12. havent posted in here for a while so here goes, A whole bunch of stuff and goodies from all over. its all very eclectic. Another pile of Future magazines which makes my collection almost complete. A huge stack of Agatha Christies books. And a Jim Steranko book made especially for the Winnipeg exhibition in 1978.
  13. Theres a dealer here in Montreal thats had a CGC Scrooge 386 for the longest time. Its a grade 5 for about 500 tomatoes, which seems to be consistent with the Overstreet. Im really tempted to buy it soon.
  14. Ok,so my question is,since ive never sent ANYTHING to CGC... Is it worth it to send what looks to me like at least grade 9 four colors ? maybe im not being conservative enough.. How do you send lets say a big batch of 20-30 books ? Or,can you send 20-30 books all in one swoop ?
  15. Welcome aboard. I'd apologise, but I think this is a good thing for you. My picks for you would be: Any of the first ten Uncle Scrooge title (FC 386 through to Uncle Scrooge 10) - no duds in that lot. Donald Duck one-shots in Four Color: Lost in the Andes (223) Christmas for Shacktown (267) Luck of the North (256) The WDC&S 10 page stories are definitely not second rate either - some of those are wonderful. A few favourites of mine are Money Bin Tornado (WDC&S 126) - might be my favourite barks story - Marharaja of Howdoyoustan (138) and Omelet (141?) And lots more - just jump in. Thank you so much for all those titles, but what i meant to say was,any books on Carl Barks himself and his work at Disney ?
  16. Ok fine believers of Barks. Youve won ! I now have a huge headache from the posting of those books, and have now added the words Barks books to my already cosmic-sized want list. I hate you all,but then again, ilove you all also. Any great books on Barks i should read first ? I was raised on Disney books and records as a child,so those memories will never ever leave me. And ive been collecting Disney records and Disneyland stuff now. I hope you people are happy.
  17. That Thor issue is a killer cover with killer colors !
  18. Saw that picture and went surfing for 1000000 comix info. Whoa found this old interview in 1986. there is your guy Holy ! Is this guy STILL here in Montreal ?? Can i give him a message from any of you guys ? As a newbie,id be delighted.
  19. regular version +1 Carl Sagan version billions and billions of +1 (i know i know he never said it )
  20. So we can have a better sense of this, the very first question to ask in my view would be... How LONG ago was YEARS ago... ?
