  12. I don't think anyone else needs to help inflate your self-inflated ego. You're doing a marvelous job attempting it. As for comics, comic art, anything as a commodity, buy before everyone else does, and sell before everyone else does. Duh. I believe my joke summarized your 1st statement but hey not everyone was born with a sense of humour. As for your 2nd point if that is what you got out of my post then perhaps i can recommend hooked on phonics. I was asked a question and shared some of my experience. Ask around and see how many answers you get when you ask others the same question. Without weighing in on the philosophical debate of nature vs. nurture you touched upon by stating people are born with senses of humor (yes, humor - not humour) I would like to state something obvious, you are () Canadian. So, hello my brother from the north, I imagine this is what you look like:
  13. I don't think anyone else needs to help inflate your self-inflated ego. I have a bike pump ready if he ever does need help. Just read your blog - Aside calling me a gentleman, your blog is pretty factual and pretty entertaining. Your post about LCS ignorance is interesting. On the flip side - I do think it was lucky of you to find the 19's for face value - but I think its akin to walking into a Target and seeing copies of a great video game on clearance for 9 bucks - which has happened to me a few times - I remember a few years ago, buying like 10 copies of Fallout 3 for 9 or 10 dollars and making a nice quick buck on Ebay - I think there is definitely value over face on a lot of these books - but how much higher do you think it will go? You think it will keep going up and up? I see pages from the 60's and 70's in the twenty, thirty, forty grand, and I can only wonder if I should keep a firm grip on all my pages for 20 years?

  16. ...in other news, I got a great Venom vs. Spidey fight page: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=915481&GSub=133025 Enjoy. =)
  17. /lawyer hat / who knows what contracts were signed -- you would be surprised how little the artists and original team get once it gets up to the big boys -- especially with the TM thing still lingering - very sort of perfect storm time for this to be decided by the courts -- we are at a crossroads in our jurisprudence how this country handles its intellectual property / end lawyer hat /
  18. +1 I like it too. I'm not referring to the imagery. I don't know who has creative control in that regard. Maybe Kirkman scrips the covers as well? I am just referring to the art. It is.......awful. No detail, inaccurate proportions, bad shadows I do agree the image and what it possibly foreshadows is strong. I'm really wishing Tony was back doing the covers. think about it like this -- at least you wont be tempted to buy it for 6 grand when it inevitably goes on sale at splashpage
  19. Wow, another "five minute" cover illustration. But a lot of room for sketches and sigs. If only that's what me and 98% of readers are looking for in a cover.. Its alright - simple..nice use of shadowing except the angles are kinda botched.
