  1. I received Bedlam FP signed variant Today. VF/NM condition. No backing boards. 3 books in 1 bag.

Can't wait to see what mine look like. Showing shipped from FP but not received yet.

How much did they end up charging you for shipping?

I ordered 5 copies and shipping was 8 pounds so whatever that translate into US.

  2. So obviously there are a lot of people banking heavily on this comic and betting significant money on it's future strength in the secondary market. The question that has always troubled me about this conclusion is this: Is Bedlam too f'd up a plot to have broad demand that will keep it selling out and drive prices up in the future? I've got a little bit of cash invested in the comics, but nothing crazy, Just a few hundred bucks. My thought is that it's definitely messed up, but that the writers appear to be exploring other subject matters than than the psychopathy of the serial killer (e.g., government, politics, the criminal justice system, etc.), and that while it is definitely an adult comic so is the Walking Dead which had some insanely graphic and disturbing things, themes, etc. happen in it. What's everyone else think?

Couldn't agree more. But I think that's the point of it right, these stories are for adults who are looking for an adult read, not just us comic book hero lovers but also people who love a good story. I see it as the kind of comic I would recommend to someone who has American Psycho on their bookshelf but has never read a comic book in their life.

Having said that a small girls throat getting sliced isnt everyone's cup of tea!

I think the series has a ton of potential, and I'm quite intrigued to know where it's going. American Psycho is a good analogy. As I read it, I'm also reminded of some of the disturbing Joker scenes in the Dark Knight... and think about what a mainstream movie that ended up being, at least in terms of sales.

And yes, Walking Dead has shown that there is a wide audience for material that is pretty graphic and intense.

I think we are all in the 18-40 year old male demographic here that can handle this type of comic. Dexter is my favorite show on tv and that's about a serial killer. Yes, he kills only bad people, but it's still based around a serial killer mind. This comic can be very similar. IMO, strictly investment purpose, the storyline being dark won't affect it. This is the type of storyline I'm most interested in and most of my age group would be interested in. We are the ones with disposable income.

  3. It will eventually find its way home to join its sister cover...

Seeing the Walking Dead #48 cover framed made me realize I need both parts.

Speaking of needing both parts, care to give me the cover you have to #5? :baiting:

  4. Perhaps... It is the quiet before the storm? Is this first arc a 5 issue or 7 issue? If it is 5 issue perhaps next month we will all be saying holy *spoon*, didn't see that coming!?

I think it's a 5 story arc. The teaser for issue 6 starts out with "a great jumping on point for new readers" and release date scheduled for 1/23/13. TPB comes out in december I believe.

  5. Looking at my order they cut the order in half and the price is double for that half. Im assuming they messed up the invoice by limiting the order but not adjusting the price.

I hope thats the case anyhow

Well that sucks. My order still says processing. Same price right now.

  6. Sorry if I missed this somewhere but I just got an email from FP...

Either Forbidden planet messed up my invoice....or they doubled the price for those that pre-ordered. I realize that prices can go up but to double the price is pretty crappy.

. My order was limited recently and now a week later doubled in price. Top notch service right there lol.

I haven't got anything from FP for my preorder yet.

When are they shipping the Third Eye Variants?

I got e-mail on Monday afternoon from paypal with tracking # from Third Eye for their bedlam variants. No tracking info is available yet, so I'm assuming they just printed the label.

  7. I just called and my July 2nd invoice was graded.

Can we make a request? If people are going to post the status of their books to show that CGC is either late or on time, can they please be bothered to also note what tier the book was graded under? A 7/2 modern is one thing. A 7/2 economy or value is another.

    Sorry. It was a modern.

  8. One of my #1 4th prints just arrived from midtown in minty-fresh condition!

They bagged and boarded it like that??

    Yup. Bagged and boarded.

And yes Miso, a perfect 9.4 for my collection. lol

  9. This is really the first time I've had a serious problem with a shipment from them. All the others in my shipment (#2 3rd print, #3 2nd, and #4 firsts) were all very nice copies, but this one made me laugh.
