  1. Probably hard case because it's Star Wars related but I'll do it anyway. Looking for the character pin-up used in Return of the Jedi #3 by Rick J. Bryant of the Scout Trooper. This has always been my favorite of the different imperial trooper type and thought that if I owned one Star Wars piece featuring my favorite trooper it would have to be this.
  2. Hard to say. I know that Liefeld himself has been talking about the page and giving updates on the price from his Twitter account. For Renolds, I would guess it comes down to if he really is a big fan of the character to that extent. He originally got introduced to the character while Blade was being filmed for reference material from my understanding so even though he does have the money and likes the character, it doesn't mean he has the nostalgia component which often drives people into spending these large sums of money that they knew from their youth. So even though he can probably afford it, it comes down to if he actually thinks it's worth it. You can have the money but not the collectoring mindset whihc is really the thing you need to justify the price and spending.
  3. Would it really be out of context when you consider what character it is?
  4. He said it was a different page, the one that Fish has. This is the second best page of the book featuring him with only the one right before where he introduces himself beating it. Even still any page with him in it would indeed be 5 figures now.
  5. Guys, what gives? I thought we agreed that none of you would bid on the deadpool so that I could lock it away forever so that you would never have to look at that Liefield art again. I know a sacrifice on my part but a noble one I was willing to make.
  6. I suggest posting the emails to see what exactly was said to avoid any confusion.
  7. If you look carefully you'll see that the signed one has a different signature placement from the non-signed one. The "B" also is shaped differently from the other one with different weight applied throughout the signature so it doesn't look like it was printed on but written.
  8. Hi fellow county resident You would think they'd be able to fix the craters that we call potholes here with how much we pay.
  9. I'm really impressed with the colored piece in the auction. Not just because it's colored, but because it's the last strip of the series and is memorable because of it. That has to give it an extra pump.
  10. No, I'd still consider your help if you offered. And Yes, New Jersey has a lot of young people leaving it from being unable to find jobs and the high cost of living. My county was the most expensive to live in for the whole country last I checked. I do plan to move in the next few years since you bring that up.
  11. Just a question but does anyone happen to know of a service that you can deliver packages to? Not a like a PO box but one where they would get it delivered to them and either hold it for pickup or delivery it again to you? With Heritage now charging sales tax in NJ that can really start to add up. I would normally deliver it to a relative or boardie I know but everyone seems to live in a state that heritage has an office in.
  12. I have a lot of artists I would like to get an example from, too many to name honestly. The ones that come to mind admittedly are Gene Colan, John Romita Sr. and Jr. page, and Miller. I was able to add a Ditko page recently which was happy about. Also both Buscemas and a Sienkiewicz, Kirby, Kubert, And Dave Stevens are people I was able to get an example of that I didn't think was possible but am happy to have.
  13. Yeah, I just checked. They also seem to have moved some sub-mariner and daredevil pages. They had a lot of dd pages.
  14. I noticed two pages I had on watch got moved to later auctions. Guess some pieces are gonna be getting spread out so that they're easier to absorb.
  15. They also have the splash title page to Spiderman vs Wolverine. I remember some talk about it when the cover came to auction a little while back. Wonder if it will make a good consolation prize to those that lost out on it or if the new owner would want to add it along with the cover?
  16. Yes, yes please ignore the deadpool page in disgust. No way any of you people would want to bid on that. I'll even make the sacrifice of bidding on it so you never have to look at it again!
  17. Thanks, I'll be sure to get into as many arguments as possible, no matter the smallest reason. You're welcome.
  18. I haven't been in this section of the boards for a while. Is it really that low?
  19. Harry Chesler had his comic art collection that he had saved, donated to Fairleigh Dickinson University. From what I understand the school donated at least some of it to the Library of Congress and might have even sold some. I'm not sure though if they still have any left. Their Teaneck campus is by me, so I might check it out and see.
  20. Besides the ones I mentioned, Twitter has also become huge for comics, and the industry where fans can talk to the writers, and artist directly, though drama has also come from it, where some professionals have gotten into arguments, or said statements that have gotten them in trouble. But besides the politics it really does help artist, and the art collecting community I think. Many of the modern artist that some here might not even know, and even some of the veteran pros like Jim Lee have tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of followers who see them post their original art, and even commissions they do, often times with them saying where it can be bought, and fans asking if they have any for sale. This is even more true for platforms like Instagram, where it's much more visual based, so a lot of artist flourish in that environment. Comic artist posting nothing but their comic art they drew, or inked, exposing tons of people to it at a time. Jim Lee for example has over 300k followers, and his last post with original art in it has over 25k likes for example. That means that those 25 thousand people know that original art exist, not counting his other followers, and the multitude of people who follow other various comic artist on there. This means that a lot of people have been exposed to comic art, and do actually know what it is despite what some people might think. In fact more people might know what it is than the older generations who didn't have these mediums available to them then. So even if only a small amount of those people get interested enough to buy it, it would still be a larger amount I think then years past. The real question is what will those younger people be interested in? Modern Image title artwork, superior spider-man, and not classic Kirby, for example? Hard to say, because a lot of people know who these older artist actually are, and have read their work in the trades. Even if not they understand the importance of their contribution to the medium, and have said they would love to own a Kirby page for example, but simply can't afford it. So while they might have an interest in buying art from modern titles now, it doesn't mean they won't be interested in it in the future when they have greater income. I after all bought my Kirby piece only a few weeks in of being 21, and have since added pieces both by modern artist, and older ones like Ditko, and Kubert. I think if we looked at other platforms besides the boards we would see that original art does have some interest to younger people who are comic fans. In fact I think this is why Felix does so well with his art sales, and has such young customers, because he knows how to maintain an online presence, and use these platforms to his advantage. Something I haven't seen many of the old school dealers do. I've even seen stuff that people have bought from Felix, get posted on Reddit for example.
  21. Younger people use other platforms, this is kinda a more, "serious" forum for a lot of people when it comes to collecting, though a lot of people do know it exist, or might just not post. You can find the younger demographics on Reddit, 4Chan, Instagram, and some other smaller communities
  22. Mangaka artist generally, especially well-known ones like you mentioned don't ever sell their artwork they did on a series. This is for a few different culturally reasons the Japanese have compared to American, and European comic artist who sell their work as part of their income regularly, and might even design a page layout so they can sell it for more later on. You might be able to find a few random manga pages in the wild, but nothing that would be well-known like Death Note, or Berserk.
  23. The cover for that was offered in the Heritage featured auction before the last one. Was very tempted to make a run at it.
