  1. Thank you. I figured since I was such a fan of the comic and character that I should at least try to get the toy that started it all and glad I got it when I did.
  2. Picked this up a little while back and figure I'd post it to give this thread a little bump. Comes complete with all parts and manual with working lights.
  3. That's a pretty great piece, wonder what it looks like under the DD leg correction?
  4. Thoughts on this sold listing? https://www.ebay.com/itm/324585493895?hash=item4b92cd9587%3Ag%3A350AAOSwg5lggals&nma=true&si=qEY0cLjFZQHD6nAnWnT67qh0QG8%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  5. Anyone want to take a guess on what got mailed to me in this?
  6. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-DARK-KNIGHTS-FAMILY-METAL-UNPUBLISHED-ORIGINAL-ART-BY-ETHAN-VAN-SCIVER/133581121373?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3D14d39dbc10044b22b51511cb95772a9f%26pid%3D100667%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D8%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D294134273117%26itm%3D133581121373%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2334524&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042 Remember seeing this one up on Comiclink a little while back. Also I think it's left a little ambiguous by just calling it unpublished when it's spefically a commission. In fact, Van Sciver even has a video up on his youtube channel where he's working on this exact piece and says it's a commission which you can see here .
  7. I was wondering the same thing when I saw all those complete deadpool circle chase books drop on Heritage.
  8. This is where I'm at too with me having regret on not picking up some comics when I had the chance when prices were more in my range. Not even big books either but stuff like a mid grade daredevil #1, and a 9.4 of Werewolf by Night 32. Besides the later being a hotbook now because of the Disney show which explains some of it, everything seems to have increased dramatically in price in only a small amount of time. DD1 for example seems to have doubled in price from October. Whether it's the refound interest in Pokémon cards since the late 90s or the videogame market where even old DS games are going for hundreds of dollars there doesn't seem to be one collectible market that isn't experiencing a price rise. Which is even more amazing considering current economic issues many are facing. Of course we're also living in a time where doge coin has gone up 600% in only a few days too.
  9. It's a good series for sure and has great art. I regret not buying more covers to it when I had the chance.
  10. Is that her first appearance? If so I can understand the price with her being in tons of Garfield media from kid books, cartoons, and movies.
  11. This leads to the question which has been asked before. Is it better to let people know publicly that you're looking for pages or better to keep it to yourself and tell only a select few if at all?
  12. He's getting the emails for sure but might just be on vacation. I sent an email asking about a piece a few weeks back and when I didn't hear back tried again but no luck. I was able to reach out to the artist directly who asked me if I was the same person who they heard from Kwan was emailing about the same piece which I was. So we can at least assume from that that, Kwan while not responding is still reading the emails and communicating with his repped artists about their contents.
  13. I don't believe so since the whole point of sketch covers is to get artists to draw on them. The grade itself is really just a bonus with the bigger point to be being cgc verified to show that the artwork on it is authentic. The only time I could see the grade really factoring in would be two drawings that are virtually the same by the same artist. Keep in mind the price for these sketch covers are largely based on the artist and the quality of the drawing itself. If an artist uses a medium that might lower the grade of the book that's fine since the art itself is what I and many others are buying. For example if someone like Miller, or Jim Lee drew Batman but did it in a way that lowered the book to say a 7.0 would that really stop the majority of people who are really interested in it? The book will still have a 4 figure value not because of the grade but because of the art and who drew it. For example here's a Bob Layton Taskmaster I own. It's 9.4 which is low for a modern book but it doesn't really matter all that much since the appeal comes from it being by Bob Layton and the appeal of the character. The price of it would probably be worth more if the grade was higher yes, but even more so if he drew, Iron Man instead since that's the character he's known for.
  14. I'll be going to this. Since a lot of networking, selling, buying, and trading goes on between collectors at the con please DM me if you have any of the following and plan to attend the show. Even if you don't want to sell or trade so I can at least know it exist in case things change in the future. Deadpool pages/covers from his first series from the late 90s to early 2000s or earlier. Taskmaster pages/covers from his first limited series in 2002 Art from the Marvel ROM Spaceknight series Artwork from the 90s Darkhawk series Marvel Fanfare pinups and/or the Moon Knight cover from it. 80s Moon Knight. Here's my gallery. I don't have anything for sale but if you have something from above you'd think I'd be interested in and want to offer trade for something you see in my gallery please reach out. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=89824
  15. I have a mix between specific characters I like and specific storylines/series I read that I really enjoyed or feel nostalgic for. The rest of my pieces that don't fit either category are ones that had art I just really loved that a few times has made me read the material it came from.
  16. Saw this online and figured this was the best thread for it since people here know how to spot a fake from a real one and if they might know the history of this KISS piece that Simmons believe was drawn by Kirby.
  17. Yeah it's not really possible to own OA of popular manga titles since virtually all artist in the country never sell any of it due to cultural differences. You will of course be able to find some stuff but it won't related to well-known titles, stat reproductions, or possibly pornographic stuff. The only titles I can think of that it might not be like that is the adaption of 'Lone wolf and Cub' by, Miller who's an American and did the art for it, and the color guides to 'Akira' that, Felix sold on behalf of the color artist; another American. Fraud is another thing you'll have to watch out for with it sometimes too. Only a few years back some people got duped into buying fakes from a seller who claimed to be selling pieces from the title, 'Berserk'. Because of that, the best a person can do when it comes to getting legit pieces from popular titles is get sketches similar to what we might find at conventions by the artists of them. These themselves though can also be hard to come by and with the combined effects of everything listed makes them command a strong premium that would be equal to some very nice pieces in the West. This sketch on Heritage for example by Miyazaki went for over 5k and this was a piece that was even discussed on this board since the authenticity of it called into question. https://movieposters.ha.com/itm/animation/my-neighbor-totoro-by-hayao-miyazaki-2007-autographed-original-watercolor-and-ink-artwork-95-x-1075-/a/7181-86466.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 The most expensive piece I've seen sold was a simple 'Draongball' head sketch that sold for the equivalent of over $50k I believe. The most cost effective way of getting art I've found is going over the original panel art used in making the anime version of the mangas. The best places go go look for this stuff is Mandrake, who besides having a regular online store also run auctions and Yahoo auctions japan
  18. Word of advice when it comes to old Pokémon and even Yugioh packs sold by themselves. Another reason sealed boxes are coveted is because it's guaranteed that the rare (holo) pulls are in them. If you buy old packs loose you risk them already having been weighed which is the process where the packs are put on a sensitive scale to determine if a holo card is in them since they'll be a few grams heavier than a standard pack. So when buying them online it's likely that they've been weighed by the seller and that you don't actually have a chance of getting a holo at all with those packs already being opened.
  19. I was able to win 2 deadpool pages in the auction. I was on mobile and not able to properly tell who was bidding me but suspect it might have been only one other person in the live auction. Makes me wonder what the prices would have been if I or him hadn't gotten into a bidding war.
  20. I was not expecting that deadpool cover to sell for $25k and the double page splash title page for $14k. I was blown out of the water on that one. Those along with the other pages in this auction and the ones from last time make me think this is a deadpool collector with a nice collection cashing out.
  21. You've had the prelim for the pages comeup. I remember Clink having the prelim to page 4 a few years back.
  22. Sometimes I feel like I'm the youngest guy in the hobby and becomes obvious when I can't really talk about this stuff in my peer groups when they ask what my interest are.
