I have never seen a high res scan of the Cover OA. Just this for the splash page (not that high res)

I got a lot of PMs over the past few weeks about what I use to ink/pencil/correct/color/etc. so here is a few pics of what I currently use: (Click for larger view) Dr Ph Martines - Black Star - Matte - India Ink (for brush/nibs) Kuretake White Ink 30 - Opaque white - this stuff changed my life! Winsor & Newton Series 7 Sable Brush - Round #2 (not a cheap brush - I know artists who have owned this exact brush for 20+ years and it is still perfect!) Various Round brushes - sized 4 or 6 for larger coverage areas 512 sized line nib 102 hunt detail line nib Faber-Castell PITT artist pen - india ink - various sizes (just broke my XS so I need a new one) Sakura Micro-Perm pen (not my go to but does good as my backup) General Kimberly Graphite drawing pencil (2B, B, 2H, 6H) Pentel Brush Tip pen - similar to the Round #2 brush I use but in a pen format (uses it's own ink tube and refills) Correction and Setup Staedtler Non-Photo Blue layout pencil Kneaded eraser Factis Black 18 eraser Sakura Gelly Roll white ink pen Various Copic Markers Big PITT pens (various shades of black and grey) Pitt pens in color - B sized tip A random Copic Regular marker in N10 grey (dark almost black) Standard Prismacolor Markers - 12 pack (rarely use these as they do not blend well) What does everyone else here use? Here are my top 5. No particular order. Jose Marzan Jr MegaCon2013 Commission Clay Mann Orlando Toy & Comic Con 2012 Commission Sajad MegaCon2013 - He gave this to me when he found out I collected Batman sketches (and was a boardie) This is currently my only German Variant sketch and I do owe him a cover recreation for it! Nathan Szerdy Private Commission - we traded cover recreations - his use of color pencil is brilliant Jim Cheung Epic Comics - Store Signing - 2013 - Commission I own more than 20 Batman sketch covers and these are the 5 that matter most to me. I tend to look at my wall and get inspiration from these 5 covers (more than any other covers that I own.)

boardie k1dkash commissioned this.. First time doing a recreation of a Michael Turner cover. We lost a great in Turner. Very happy with the results. Gonna touch up a few spots. 98% Done Scan (at 300 dpi - normal settings) Some progress pics from my iPhone>

I got my preordered HC vol1 over the weekend. Good thing this copy is for me because mine has some serious dents in it. Thin bubblemailer + no cardboard + media mail = never gonna have faith in a safe arrival. Here is my sketch ( you can see one of the dents - lower right )

It is being sent to the stores of the shops in attendance. Maybe arrive today w/ all the other books for Wednesday?

Nice. Keep us posted. So Heroes haven wants retailers to get all the way home and then ship them their RRP for $50? I wonder how many lazy retailers will jump on this instead of selling it to a loyal customer for $50? or eBay it for more. I think so. I can't speak for them. Diamond is pretty open about the fact that the giveaways are supposed to be used to offset the cost of attending the summit. Still, I guess I just consider the flier style offers to be in poor taste. Also, if I had an offer of $50 now, I'd probably consider that a floor and see what I could get back home. I know exactly what you mean. The few shops I frequent will definitely sell theirs to help lower their out of pocket cost of attendance. The flier is def not the best approach. As you pointed out though, that did establish a pretty solid floor.

They may be offering $50 but will retailers actually get them in hand at the summit or have to wait to receive them by mail upon returning to their shops? The summit site clearly states they will be mailed. Hmm.. can't wait for confirmation of this

I hope I do Dave justice with this one .... full size recreation - used the copy I just picked up from a boardie to reference it all out. Got pretty loose w/ the pencils and will tighten it up once the inks start getting down. I get nervous doing covers that I've loved for so long.

You should be happy he showed off your cover and not the regular issue. It's a shame my phantom retailer hasn't ordered Five Ghosts phantoms so far. I've liked the #1 and #2 cover and am diggin the #3.

For sure. He and I have completed a few transactions in both directions. My last communication from him was on March 17th I believe. Just hope all is okay.
