  1. Throw in my 2 cents, maybe a little late (and sorry if this has been stated before). I always state offers are welcome but first Take in thread trumps all DMs, so if we agree on a price Take It on the thread. Not sure if it would have helped in this situation, but if the sale happens in private no one knows what is 'really' going on and people can become upset.
  2. Bought a group of comics (alkng with whatever else was on the shelf) at auction. I love the Baker covers but don't really collect them. This one spoke to me, the composition and the vibrant colors, convinced me to keep it.
  3. Also, just found a cover for Wonder Woman 46 - front and back, attached with holes where the staples were, if anyone is interested . . .
  4. While I wouldn't mind a Mask 1 in my collection, it isn't really my main focus (did get a decent Blue Bolt 108 recently, that made me happy!). So I am asking in this particular instance more for financial value as opposed to happiness value.
  5. What is consensus on using repro covers for coverless books? (If this is covered, excuse the pun, somewhere else please let me know and I apologize in advance). Thinking of getting a repro cover for Mask 1 for my complete interior. Thanks
  6. Super Mystery V1#1, would be a pretty straight 3.0/3.5 but for: Wonky page - meaning 2nd to center wrap (pages 29/30 and 35/36) was misplaced in book at a slight angle so pages 29/30 stick out at bottom of book and 35/36 at top right edge. Thise oarts that stick out are, as expected, a bit more tattered than the rest of the pages. Since this is a printing error is there any forgiveness in grading, or is it a negative? Thanks in advance!
  7. Last but not least - Phantom Lady 23! Phantom Lady 23, CGC 1.8 Conserved White Pages. Ok, it's low grade, and Conserved . . . but it's a Phantom Lady 23!!! I tried leaf casting on this (I didn't do it, had a professional do it) and it came out decent (it was rough before!!!). Interior is beautiful, WHITE pages. The cover is beautiful as well. I'm asking a cheap (for this book) $2,500.
  8. This is an odd duck. Illustrated Story of Robin Hood and His Merry Men nn, Gilberton Giveaway 1944, CGC 6.5 Off-White to White pages. This is a rare book in any grade (Gerber 7), and this is the highest graded (next is a 5.5) out of only 8 on the census. A few sold at Heritage at the end of 2019, with a 5.5 raw selling for almost $6,000, and then a graded 5.5 selling a couple weeks later for just over $2,000!!! I think the 2 guys who collect this book got their copies - but now this one is the highest graded and trumps both of those copies!!! So there !! I'm going to ask $6,500 as well.
  9. This book doesn't need much intro. Haunt of Fear 19 CGC 9.4 Off-White to White pages. Asking $2,500 Just a beautiful book.
  10. First up, Superman 3, CGC 6.0 Conserved Off-White to White pages. I know, it's Conserved. My guy convinced me to go with Conservation, so I am venturing into unknown territory (for me). 2nd book I've had Conserved (1st is below). When I bought the book it was advertised with 2 pages loose - I figured it was the centerwrap that split from brittleness. Much to my (happy) surprise it was 2 pages from the first half of the book - specifically pages 11 and 12 - that had been neatly ripped out but left in the book (who knows why?). Pages are supple and, as noted, Off-White to White. I don't know how to price Conserved but it was a nice book before, and with Sup #1 going for crazy money, I'll ask $6,500.
  11. So, it's been a minute since I've been here selling (I blame CGC's long turnaround time!!!) but I'm back with some decent books . . . The rules: No HOSers or Probies First in the thread wins, if we come to a deal in DM post in thread before someone else does because thread trumps DM Shipping will be either USPS Medium Priority box plus insurance, or Registered (I prefer Registered, safer if slower). If first, depending on how much insurance is may have to include some shipping charge, if latter, free shipping CONUS. Outside US we can discuss shipping. Payment - sorry, no paypal or zelle or whatever for these, has to be personal check (must clear before books sent out) or Money Order. CGC graded books, no returns. If I missed anything, let me know! Let the listings begin!!!
  12. Just got a few more innards: Archie's Joke book (nn, or #1) Jetta 6 Teen Age Romances 35 Looking for covers or interested parties Thanks
  13. I think its a pinpoint hole in the spine. The spine looks frail to me as is.
  14. Anyone have an extra cover to Mask Comics 1 lying around? Or know anyone who does? Now the proud owner of entire innards (some roughness and bug chews to an edge, but complete) looking for long term relationship (buy or sell). Thanks
  15. I don't think so - at least not traditional moisture damage - the interior pages are fine, no staining or waviness.
  16. I'll admit, I haven't been around the block enough to really say I'm experienced with St. John books. I mean, lets be honest - how many of us really are? Sure, you got those guys who boast and say they've seen every book in high grade, but I bet they're mostly blowing smoke up our you know whats. Maybe some of the old-timers. But not the rest of us. But when this book walked in the door - wow! What a looker! That spine! The gloss! I couldn't see any wrinkles or anything, until you get to the right edge. All of a sudden an 9.0 goes to 4.0. What's a guy to do? How would this grade? The spine is flawless (slight roll/lean but that can be pressed back into shape), the cover is blemish free until about the last 1/4" of the right edge. There are a few creases, minor, and tears, and a small chip or two and it's wavy. The pages below are fine, no rips or issues there. I'm guessing a 6.5, but is that low? Am I overgrading? What you say? Thanks
  17. I know coverless comics are bought, especially key issues (I have sold my share of these). But usually the key aspect of the issue is the issue (1st appearances, story, artist, etc). But what about when the key is the cover? To wit: Mask Comics 1. I have the complete interior of the book, not a stitch or sliver of the cover. What kind of value would that have? Thanks for any thoughts!
  18. Sorry to break the spell of the Promise Collection, but I just got this and I can't find barely any data on it: only 3 graded and no sales data or listings in the usual places (the Bay, HA, etc). Is Romantic Love 23 really that rare??? Beautiful cover by Kinstler.
  19. Got this beautiful copy with very small defects, so wondering if it will get above a 9.0 or not? See pics for the defects: small tic on spine bottom corners both have slight impact/color breaking bend? Thanks for your input!
  20. Comic Cavalcade 19 missing 1st 2 pages (not last 2), spine looks rough but pages are secure. Great Golden Age Wonder Woman, Flash and Green lantern book! $50
  21. Leading Comics 10, nice book (except for you know that part about not having a cover and stuff). Complete. $50
  22. All Star Comics 57, missing 1st wrap but doesn't seem to affect the story. Rust migration. $40
