  1. Jackpot Comics 5 - early Archie key book, first appearance of Mr. Weatherby (definitive) and Reggie (one panel and named - actually a couple panels but we only see his face in one). Missing cover, first 2 wraps have pieces out of right edge (doesn't affect art), and first 3 wraps have issues in upper right area, with 2nd wrap missing part of the corner and most of the panel there, so incomplete. Centerwrap is tight in the book, all the Archie pages are there and beautiful. Great color and supple pages. Asking $265.

  2. Detective Picture Stories 1, Centaur - an uncommon, very old comic book! December 1936 old. Missing quite a bit, but its rare and kind of cool to have even pieces of what an old comic book looked like (duo-tone and black and white for most of the book, ads for other Centaur comics). Missing cover and first 4 wraps, and 2 of the center wraps (yes, there is actually something left!!!) and no staples. Supple pages. Own a piece of Comic Book History!!! $35

  3. First the rules:

No bad people, HOS or Probies.

Sold as is, no returns (unless there are more wraps missing - I don't claim to note every chip or piece out of each page, though I try to be thorough). These are coverless and incomplete.

PayPal and Checks (have to clear before item sent out).

First :takeit:in the thread trumps all DM agreements or conditional takes.

Shipping $4 CONUS, Canada and foreign at cost.

  4. First - rules:

No bad people, no HOS or Probies.

For this I will only accept Check or Money Order (US funds only) - have to clear before sending out book. Suitcases of cash work as well.

Shipping will be FREE Registered Mail fully insured (may take longer, but you will get it safe and sound). No overseas, will do Canada if you can explain how I can do the equivalent of Registered mail (or some other secure sending) and should also be free unless it is way more expensive than shipping in the US.

This is an odd, rare item. When old comics get read and played with and loved they tend to lose certain parts - the centerfolds being the most commonly lost pieces (covers tend to be the second most lost part). Here I seem to have gone inverted - I only have the centerfold! Bought a stack of books, in between the coverless books there were some pieces, and in my researches into what these were I realized this is the centerfold to Detective Comics 1! I did the page count (using info from the Grand Comics Database) and it checks out.

Features the last 2 pages of the 13 page "The Claws of the Red Dragon" (this is the story from which the front cover was drawn) and the first 2 pages of the 4 page Gumshoe Gus in the Gotlotz Jewels mystery (get it - Gotlotz = got lots!).

For a page ripped from the bosom of its book and left bereft of protection, it is in decent condition. The first page is great with some minor wear/chipping on the upper right edges and some minor rips along the right edge. The "spine" is great - fully attached the entire length of the pages with the holes where the staples were popped, as expected. Last page has some roughness at the top edge, a ripped section on the right edge (see the pictures), some rips along the right edge and bottom edge (the piece that looks like its missing - just folded up behind), and one small chip at the bottom of the corner. Page quality is tan to cream, supple pages, no brittleness (though I wouldn't try stress it too much to try it out, nevertheless the pieces that were folded behind etc. did not fall off when I injudiciously folded them back into place!). Please take a close look at the pictures and ask questions or for more pictures/scans (I will try to get to that if I can dig my scanner out from under the pile of comics on it)

How does one price this? I have no clue! Someone is asking $3,550 for just the back cover (although it is CGC certified). An incomplete Tec 1 sold in 2017 for about $2,000 - missing first two wraps AND THE CENTERFOLD!

I'm going to ask $5,500 and see where we end up. I am willing to conditionally sell in that the person commits to buying it and I will send it to CGC (at my own cost) to be authenticated/slabbed - if it comes back as not what it seems to be, buyer is off the hook. If it comes back as what I am saying it is, buyer pays what was agreed for it and receives the pages.

    Thank you for looking!

Outstanding Matt Baker GGA western cover!

Small piece out of top right cover. Small chip out of top left corner of cover. Has a long, thin tear most of the way across the cover through title. Neatly mended inside long ago with magic tape. Otherwise pretty minimal wear with no other tears or creases. Book and centerfold bound well to covers. Nice, off white interior paper. Looks nice in a mylar.

$75.  Hot Baker for under a hundred dollars!

Fantastic black spider cover! One of the best covers in the run I think. Wild, grusome stuff inside.

Bright, clean and glossy. Top staple is neatly popped. Numerous small creases and slight corner wear. Small, very light water stain inside front cover at bottom. Small date stamp on back cover. No tears or missing pieces. Book and centerfold bound well to covers. Slightly yellowed but supple interior pages.

    $150.

Will list this through the end of the Holiday weekend (end of day Monday).

Amazing Spider-Man 1, CGC 3.5 with Off White pages. 1st appearance of J. Jonah Jamison and Chameleon. Fantastic Four X-over, Origin of Spider-Man retold. Ditko cover and art.

Book presents really well, structurally looks a lot better (if this doesn't sell here I go back to my original plan of taking it to my trusted presser and see what magic he can do with it), has some water staining along the spine, mostly visible on the back, but a little on the front and bottom. Has some waviness but not rippling as usual with water damage. Has not been pressed or cleaned before. Can take more pictures if needed.

    Asking $7,500.
