When I had the opportunity to ask Hasbro about this at NYCC several years ago, the Star Wars team would only say, 'No Comment". When I asked Lego, also at NYCC, they remarked that they were not able to address it further (or something like that - I specifically remember the 'no comment' though.) Now, while Lego has offered polybagged Star Wars figures after 2010, it is important to note that these have been promotional items or store exclusives with later sales to clearance out remaining stock by a vendor. Lego Han Solo in Hoth Gear was a lego incentive and only available for free if $75 or more was purchased through the Lego Store. Rocket Raccoon was aTRU Exclusive that was originally a store promo if $50 or more was purchased in Legos in the store. Eventually, TRU sold the items individually. This brings us to Marvel. Keep in mind that Hasbro also has the license from Marvel / Disney to produce action figures so the same type of arrangement probably exists on Marvel figures as the Star Wars figures concerning what Lego does. So while Lego was able to secure the rights to produce and sell individual Simpsons minifigures, it is very unlikely, that unless Disney steps in, that we will see individual Marvel or Star Wars figures sold in the minifigure assortment. This is highly unlikely though, as Disney is starting to have a strained relationship with Lego... but more on that later. (Maybe today actually if I feel like writing more.) I have that set, still sealed.

I did not even know that they were released yet. Cool - I wanted a couple of these. On the flip side... I was denied purchasing some things yesterday at Target. They put them out by mistake and the register would not allow them to be purchased. The sticker for the First Order Snow Speeder was correct at $29.99 but the label for the X-Wing was nowhere to be found. My local Lego store had them last week. Monday I believe they where available. I have not seen any of the new Star Wars sets.

The new Lego Mystery minifigures Monster series are awesome! I now have the complete set of 16.

I talked to my friend who did the show and he said he will not be back to do the show again. He left early each day. I also asked if that Marvel collection had the 35 cent variant of Logan's Run, he said they didn't have any of the price variants that he could see.

I think you're reading into things a bit too much, here. Sometimes, things need to be hashed out. There's too much simmering under the surface around here, that never has a chance to be aired, even if never resolved, and that simmering inevitably manifests itself in other, destructive ways. If talking openly about these situations brings heat....it's ok, we're big boys, and we can take it...no? Better than to never have addressed it at all. Yes I will agree that things need to be hashed out, we are big boys and we are supposed to be able to take it, but we've seen the butthurt. I don't have a dog in this race, but after a while please drop it and move on or bring it to pm. I'm just trying to help.........

I'm not sure what you mean here. I had the book in my possession before making the trade and sending it to him. I suggested one, and he accepted. I then fulfilled my end of it. I realize that the easiest solution at this point is for each of us to return the books. However, with the last part being agreed and me keeping my end of it, why does he now get to back out? That's what I'm asking about, really. The solution is essentially a straight selling agreement. I agreed to buy his books at his price and my book back at his agreed-to price. I paid him. He's trying to back out. Why would that be allowed? The quickest solution would be to return his books, he returns your book, and him refund your $$. If the deal was struck as you are stating it why should he be able to back out of it?

I understand what you're saying: while the PL serves as a warning, the primary objective of the PL is to get problem transactions completed. Thus, when an offended party proposes a nomination, it's not simply to "get back at someone" but serve as an incentive to get the deal done. So yes, the offended party should have at least a general idea of what would be needed to get the transaction satisfactorily completed. However, there have been some problem transactions were the way forward is not readily clear. Initially, this looked like it could have been one of those transactions - buyer wants the book, seller sold the book and no longer has it. In such cases, I would think the burden of finding a way to move forward would fall on the offender, not the offended. This is why I was nominated. No. You were nominated because you unilaterally broke a deal which had terms that you and the buyer had both agreed upon. So you feel absolutely no responsibility whatsoever to try and make things right with the buyer? I told him I didn't mail the book yet and I would sell it to him, he declined. And why did he decline? He clearly said why: because selling the book to him now would involve doing to someone else what you were going to do to him. What you've done with this transaction is put yourself in the unenviable position of having two buyers who have equal legitimate claim to the same book. If you pull the book back and sell it to the first buyer, you're breaking your agreement with the second buyer. If you go ahead with your deal with the second buyer, you're breaking your agreement with the first buyer. You've claimed that the second buyer would be understanding if you couldn't fulfill your commitment to him. But you also assumed that the first buyer would be understanding about breaking your deal with him - without discussing it with him first. As it turns out, he wasn't. Are you sure your second buyer will be understanding, especially if you haven't discussed it with him yet? And even if he is, should he have to be? He didn't create this situation, you did. Here's a suggestion: In one of your snarky, dismissive responses you mentioned that there are several of these on eBay. Why not buy one of those copies and send it to one of your buyers? That way you can fulfill your commitments to both of your buyers. Of course, you won't make in money on the deal. You might even loose some. But you can chalk that up to a learning experience: don't agree to extended payment terms when what you really need is immediate payment and don't break or alter an agreement without discussing it with the other party first. That's just a suggestion. And since it sounds like the first buyer is dropping the nomination, there's nothing in terms of the Probation process obligating you to come up with a solution. It depends on how much your reputation as a seller on these boards is worth to you. Well said, but my other concern (if I were the buyer) would have been sending a MO after all of this confusion. The Buyer has no protection that way. Jeez, first I dont sell him the book, then I steal his money. What kinda of monster do you think I am?

To you no, but for me I was expecting it. I'm not gonna fight against another transaction you completed with someone else after the fact to get that comic back. It's not worth it. I would rather not send my business your way. I feel the same way brother. Maybe you can explain to all of us why he's your "brother" in here yet at the same time you choose to call him a "ball-less " on Facebook. Update those personal lists. Interesting?I think not. I can crystal ball that for you....you price the book at $500 or a $1000 more of the highest recorded sale for BA 12 in 9.8 and......it won't sell. I'd also be inclined to think that if someone sees a yellow post-it that reads "$2500" or more on a BA 12, you will drive away potential customers who would assume that the rest of your prices are also well above current norms. I think it will sell AND will only attract more buyers. Not sure why you'd think it would attract more buyers... When I am at a show I don't talk about how high a dealer is on a book with others. Usless someone i am with is looking for 1, I will probably forget it after I leave his booth.

Sounds like he really wants to keep it High grade? I would say at best a 9.0. But I was in yesterday and he sold it for $140. I was impressed he sold it.

Very nice gentlemen! One of my lcs's has a raw copy for $165, I just shake my head everytime I look at it. I know it's his comic and he can ask whatever he wants for it.
