Still marked as received. I might send some other books down there to say hello.
That's funny. I have 2 shipments I sent in after this group. Evidently my books aren't allowed to say hello because they haven't been "received" yet.

How much value does Eastman's signature add to a CGC (SS) book? Is it different with each grade? Anyone with insight I would appreciate the knowledge.

I assume you had just submitted for signing and grading and not pressing, correct?
Mine are all still sitting there as “received” but they were able to confirm that they were signed. I sent in 9 comics total, all Mirage 1-4, Raphael 1, and Fugitoid. Wish there was more clarity in all of this. Everything was usually logged into the system within a few days of delivery, including the specific comic titles in each order. I probably won’t send anything else in for signing or grading until they have this a bit more streamlined.
I sent in a TMNT #3 1st print to have Eastman sign. It is still in received. I did pay for pressing the book too. I may never send another item in for pressing because of the cost and I am not convinced it helps much. The chance for Eastman's signature on that book specifically will be special so I am unconcerned about the time it takes so long as I get the book back.

even though I closed this I will fish the posting out again when I get it graded. I have it at 8.0 at least.

I sent out 11 books today medium flat rate. I put extra insurance on it and it was @$15
Still like to hear it anyone sends in 5-6 books at a time and how they do it...

It was sold to me as an 8.5 by Showcase. It may take awhile but I will probably submit this book to CGC. The Monterrey pedigree will be ignored by CGC right?

Thank you for your insights in advance. This was a purchase about 12 years ago from Showcase NE. I know I paid $55 plus shipping. I bought a lot from them at the time because I never had issues with their grading. I will disclose their grade later on if anyone is interested. I think it is correct but when I listed it for sale the damage seemed more of an issue than the weight I gave to it. Any guesses on value?
So the bad: Lower right corner is damaged and breaks color. It does not travel past the cover. Staples have discoloration (rust). I live in a dry climate. Book looks exactly the same as it did when I purchased it. Stored in Mylar with an acid free board

well their old chart for registered mail starts at $57 for 11-15 books and $38 for 5 books. Maybe a $40 diff insurance cost if a small submission keeps you under 1K and a large submission puts you at 10K It's $40 to ships 5 books back in the $500-1K range so 3 shipments of 5 books doesn't seem to make it worth it. All depends on what you expected value is.
Anyway I would not ship comics to CGC in a bubble mailer w cardboard. I'll ship dollar book to Ebay buyers that way as it's adequate protection for that, but Priority Mail boxes are free so I say double box them and pay Priority Mail (check out Pirate Shipping as they have good discounts) vs trying to get by with bubble mailers & 1st class postage
I did not know about Pirate Ship. Thanks for the recommendation. I currently get a discount printing postage at home through eBay because I am a power seller. Do you know how the price compares.
The padded mailer I was referring to was the Priority flat rate padded mailer. I can do the medium flat rate. Its what I have been doing till now.

Is there any updates on this signing? What's the record for CGC holding onto a book before returning it graded? My three books have been there since the end of December with no movement.
-
If anyone could shed some light on how/why they send in small shipments to CGC for grading and how they pack them I would appreciate it. I'm thinking about sending 5 books every other week to lessen the stress of package value. Is a cardboard re-enforced padded mailer good enough protection? I used to send in 10-15 books at a time thinking its cost effective.

Thank you for your help in advance. "Butch" written in marker on cover. Small piece missing bottom right cover. Some small water stains front and back. Paper is supple. Staples firmly attached.
Thinking about selling this comic after owning for 25 years. My friend "Butch" was the original owner. For some reason he wrote his nickname on all his early books from the 60's.

I plan on sending this in based on the response here. I don't see anything to add to the pictures.
Thanks in advance
