such great books - while the books are trimmed - I like that that the trimming wasn't done recently and isn't part of an attempt to improve the eye appeal - but rather part of a binding process. glwts and congrats to the buyers.

What will be the next Gerber for GA collecting? short answer: the Artificial Intelligence The recommendation engine in eBay is going a pretty good job at both introducing new recommendations and tracking when they are available. long answer: Collectors Fantasy League Software As someone who used to run an interactive design agency --- a pet project I never found time for -- but that I think should exist is a Collectors Price Index - beyond just the CGC graded books on GPA - and powered with some import your collection or fantasy collection as an index to follow. Collectibles continue to be more than a hobby - with billions of dollars at play - and $10,000 + for many of us I would like to see a stock market like tracking software... Software that we could use for our real collections - but I think it would be super cool to have a fantasy league - where we can play a game by picking a "team of books" for a calendar year and see where we net out... many of us need to occasionally or routinely sell books to help finance our (addiction) collection, and this could be a fun way to practice, learn or just replace that dopamine hit we get from auction fever. Also - this may be a nudge and prompt for one of the big collectors or auction houses to create a legitimate company that could become a listed stock or index for the mega grails - for me it would be a dream to hold shares in a fund that owned Action 1, Bats 1, All Star 8 etc. If anybody is interested in contributing the idea and pitching it to CGC or one of the auction houses to finance it - I'll pledge a weeks worth of time to wireframe the concept.

great issue - I think I'll pull my low grade out to read now - this may be outdated information - but I seem to recall that Heritage would sometimes offer a coupon that would save you 50% of the selling commission. I'm not sure if it had a dollar limit - but I seem to remember getting them sometimes with keys I purchased from them 10 years ago - not sure if they do similar things with new accounts selling a key book like this glwts

yes I agree - although this may partly be because a few of the harder to come by books changed hands for $1000 + (even over $10k for Seven Seas) and that has pushed prices for other books up - so put me in line for your under copies please - I'm happy with low grade books

Agreed that Kamen was the right artist for this title. I think it was one of those 'ahead of the time' titles - I'm a fan... and watch these types of shows on TV...

Hi all, As much as I love collecting - I still have a really hard time grading. I'm trying to choose my first books to send to CGC for grading and thought it would be interesting to compare grade with thoughts here. Inspired by a Golden Age thread I'm picking books that have less than 10 on the census. There are 4 of this one. While it presents nice I'm thinking it will get hammered for many flaws: ink on cover, mitigating rust on outside lower staple, writing on inside page... and I'm not sure about the show through on the inside front cover... All opinions and thoughts are much appreciated.
