Yes - this is a great idea. The knowledge shared on these boards should be benefitting to our host. They could even gamify it a bit... earning a badge of credibility from CGC would be cool. Similar to (but also very different from) Overstreet Advisors.

a-ha ! thanks for the guidance. I do now see a manual use setting- I have to scan the book - adjust Brightness, Tint, Temperature and Saturation (all 4 to get it closer) and then rescan the book with those settings. Here is another scan that now doesn't look quite as nice as the book in hand - but more accurate than the first.

Thanks --I can't figure out how to turn off any auto scanner settings --- I"m not doing any post scan processing to bump the colours and they are nice on this book - but they scanner seems to add some yellow rusty bottom staple and some discolouration to the top

the tear goes to up to the height of the middle of the "J" in the diamond (but stays vertical above the s) also seems to have some show through in the white type of Pictorial Romance - I'm wondering if that's from pressing?

Finally starting to organize my collection and found this one misfiled with my Classic Illustrated set - it's missing a few pages but presents well
