  1. I pulled an X-Men #93 $2.49 Newsstand at C2E2 this year for a whopping $1. It was one of my better finds this year, as I've been searching for these for some time to "complete" my X-Men run. I was going to post it to this thread, but then saw you already showed a scan from Mile High Comics. This X-Men #96 looks to be the $2.29 Newsstand edition from January 2000. I found the scan on Comicvine.
  2. OK, no word back from Mr. Silvestri. I am officially nominating him for the Probation List.
  3. Great detective work, guys! Artboy99, any update on the commission?
  4. That's some good legal speak right there. I'm no lawyer, but I could have written up this drivel in 5 minutes. All this over 3 books and some questionable PR and Customer Service moves? I agree that Starlin should be able to sign what he wants, but this is a joke. "I'm sending you this cease and desist letter, but please do me a favor and provide me some free advertising on your website while denouncing your own product" I would really love to see a line form at his booth at his next show of a few dozen people asking him for CGC SS requests.
  5. Somewhat true. I can't remember exactly what issue this was first revealed, but the article in Wikipedia puts it best: "His true form cannot be perceived by most beings; each species sees Galactus in a form they can comprehend, similar to their race or a deity of their religion" The reference in Wikipedia states FF #521, but I swear I knew about that little fact growing up watching the Fantastic Four cartoon in the Marvel Action Hour.
  6. I will also be bringing Sam up for nomination (thanks, Batarag, for saving me the trouble of making a new thread). I made payment on April 19th. I heard from him the following day on April 20th when he stated he had a minor problem with my order. I replied on April 28th, sent him a follow up on May 9th when I didn't hear back, and then sent him a PM AND email tonight stating that I would like to work things out or would be forced to nominate him to the probation list. Up until this point, none of my PMs have been read. If I do not hear back in 3 days, I will bump this thread for the official nomination.
  7. Agreed. I just had to click on this thread to see what this could possibly be about. Not disappointed one bit... well, except that we only got to see the heros spider front and not the beast back.
  8. Thread closes at 11pm Central. At that time, the prices will be raised and the remaining three books will be moved to other avenues. Thanks everyone for the purchases so far!
  9. And speaking of the Ghostbusters books, I forgot to officially post my second copy for sale... so here it is! Ghostbusters 101 #1 (Copy B) $35.00 $30.00 NM+
  10. Bump for the one and only price drop... Only both Ghostbuster books and the 4 Kids exclusive left.
  11. 4 Kids Walk into a Bank #4 (#26/66) CGC 9.8 There can't be many of these in 9.8, as this was limited to just 66 copies overall. Plus, the book has an unforgiving all-black front cover and all-red back cover. $250.00 $200.00
  12. I thought it was a great show overall. Lots of people (if you're into that sort of thing). I was able to pick up a lot of the modern drek that I collect, so I'm happy. Also, I subbed three books for onsite grading and got three 9.8s. Speaking of which... one of those books will be posted here shortly.
  13. Batman #21 Foil NM Like all of DC's foil covers, these books came polybagged with a flimsy backing board covering the back cover. Unlike year's past for the DC C2E2 exclusives, I couldn't do any prescreening. The book they handed you was the book you got. The copy for sale here looks NM, but could be better. (I'm leaving it sealed.) In addition to this, the comic sold out at the show (though I think they held a few back for tomorrow). Originally these were a limit of 5 per person, but with strong demand and speculators scooping up the issue, they quickly slashed the limit to 1 per person. Even still, the line went the length of the Graffit Designs booth, across the aisle, and then the length of Neal Adams' booth all day until it sold out. I will ride the coattails of all these speculators... $40.00 SOLD! Note: The book was scanned in the polybag. Horizontal lines at the bottom of the comic are reflections on the bag, not on the comic itself.
  14. Monsters Unleashed! Sketchpad #1 (2 Available) $5.00 or FREE w/ any Purchase Both Claimed! I'll see if I can pick up more at the show. These were handed out at the Marvel booth. I generally shy away from hawking FREEBIES, but these are really cool items that never seemed to last very long. I only picked up two, but may be able to grab more on Sunday if they are available. The booklet measures 5.5x7 inches and is approximately 64 pages. The inside contains cover previews, black and white pages from the Monsters Unleashed! event (for you to color in) and mostly blank pages (for you to sketch or get sketches in).
  15. 4 Kids Walk into a Bank #4 (#27/66) $35.00 Sold! NM Tough solid black front cover and solid red back cover (see scans). This one is hard numbered #27 out of only 66 copies. I picked these up #26 and #27 about 1 hour into the show, so I'm assuming these are sold out. This copy has a CB tick on the front cover LRC. The back cover looks to have had a very slight amount of red ink transfer off the cover.
  16. Another IDW offering that's not a C2E2 exclusive, but offered for first at C2E2 before any other show. Supposedly limited to 400 copies. Features a photo cover of the four original Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters 101 #1 (Copy A) NM+ $35.00 $30.00
  17. I have two copies of the next book. These aren't C2E2 exclusives, but ""convention exclusives"" that are being offered at C2E2 before anywhere else. The cover stock on these is weird, and not in a good way. It's like this paper stock was not designed to fold, hence the spines are real tight at the staples and have a ""crunch"" sort of feel to them. I'm sure that description isn't going to help me sell any of these books, but I'm not sure how else to describe them. I picked out the best two copies in a stack of about 50. Other than what I described above, these are great looking copies. Cheapest prices currently available online by far. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #6 (Copy A) $18.00 Sold!
