  1. I hope these shows don't make it too complicated for non-comic readers to follow. They won't watch stuff that needs explaining (47 pages on here at time of writing) - or go back and watch SHIELD or the other movies to catch up. There is a danger that the MCU gets too complicated for the average man in the street. Which would be a shame.
  2. ST #110 Define 'huge upturn'? Most grades are just nudging back past 2019 levels - we are talking a few hundred $$ here. 9.4 dropped from $55K to $47K (Nov) Sub $3000 - sure there been a bit of a move - but I can't describe a Book that has seen it's main character on film several times, and played by a world admired actor as 'surging' when a few low grade books rise a few hundred bucks over 2018/19 prices. Should it be higher - probably. Does the cover kill it - absolutely. Dr Strange being in Wandavision and a few more movies will just see this book do what its been doing for the last 5 years - slowly moving up a few hundred at a time. There are plenty of 5.0 or less on ebay - all way above GPA. I'd suggest it's people buying the book at realistic prices when they come up - not a 'surge'. Now watch someone buy a 5.0 for $10,000 or something. It usually takes a high grade book to pop and drag the lower ones up. The 9.4 dropped $8K, and other higher grades are static. It's still very much a book to own for sure - always be a slow, steady climber - think of Daredevil #1 as a good comparison - 9.0's sat at $5K for years - it finally took off 3 seasons of good TV, 4 movies and a sniff of being in the MCU. Strange Tales #110 and Dr Strange has started in the MCU - without much fanfare - Strange isn't as popular as other characters - Luckily a good actor was chosen to offset the character itself. I'd need to see all grades doubling in price in the next 6 months to get uber-excited about a pop. I'd certainly buy if one was well priced, that's for sure. Long term hold for mine.
  3. AF #15 Spidey will come back strong, piggy-backed off the boom in Miles Morales. The original Spider-Man and the new gen Spidey. Both will explode this year.
  4. I hope the OP didn't sell his shop he couldn't use, to the first developer he met, - and throw all his $$ into Rally Rd. If so, his $$ has followed the thrill. I did quite like the Horseshoe Statues though.
  5. Where the hecks Kav? He normally weighs in on this sort of thing @kav Or is he on holiday again? Genuinely have no idea.
  6. Hopefully it's an intro to a Marvel zombies movie! (been praying for one for years) I'm going to wait for all eps to drop before I sign up to Disney+ Too many subs already
  7. As some of you know , my wife had been very unwell a while back with cancer and a stroke - lasting 3-4 years of treatment and rehab I had to sell. Oh boy... FF #5 CGC 8.0 X-Men #1 CGC 7.0 Sgt Fury #1 CGC 8.5 TTA #44 CGC 8.5 FF #48 CGC 9.4 JIM #83 Voldy 6.0 Hulk #1 CGC 4.0 All-Star #3 CGC 3.0 Avengers #1 CGC 6.0 Action #252 CGC 6.0 Plus a couple of others I think its safe to say that my wife is waaaaaaaaaaaay more important to me that silly books, but her timing was frankly very inconsiderate I estimate those books have gone up $100,000 - $125,000 since selling. Minimum. But she's much better, and that, to me, is priceless. I have since got a TTA #44, Sgt Fury #1, and an Action #252 back in lower grades. Luckily I managed to hang on to my early Tecs.
  8. Got a call from a buddy - Library in the City was having a one-day used book sale. Drove like a loony to find nobody else there! Got these for $4 USD TOTAL (yes $4) The Hardback Spidey had an RRP of $75 USD alone. Priced at 50c for any book - but they gave me a 'bulk' price on them. Crazy, but I'll take it all day - and I'll be emailing every one of the 700 libraries in the entire state to see if they do used book sales as well. Most simply give them away - often to prisoners or immigrants (for learning to read English). I should feel a bit guilty but I guess my tax $$ paid for them in the first place, so I don't - they set the price, I didn't.
  9. Yeah, I saw that one! It's like facebook now Oh well Oh, and so everyone knows - I most certainly didn't hump the button on that thread that was pulled.
  10. You can add $3000 over GPA - and wants F+F payment as well. That's extracting the urine
  11. I sold one a few years back - I got CGC to have a look at it, and they did in fact note 1st full Hank Henshaw (Becomes Cyborg Superman) on the label. #466 is the one.
  12. AF #15 , at least in lower grades seems to be heading upwards again - a 2.5 sold for $19,000 I wonder if the interest in Miles Morales has rekindled enthusiasm for the 'real' Spider-man - albeit at a tangent.
  13. Alan Tudyk is such an under-rated actor. Absolutely brilliant in 'A Knights Tale' and 'Firefly / Serenity' Deserves more acclaim IMHO
  14. Oh yeah - those Previews buyers are going to be in a world of hurt in 12 months time. the prices are insane - UF #4 is the book - the volume of sales is showing that.
  15. No idea mate - Gpa just has it under the universal 9.8 - no 'newstand' designation. I have no way to tell sorry.
  16. I still want a one-off marvel Zombies. Just the first arc. 'R' rated - it could, if written right, be hilarious. As long as Kirkman doesn't use any of his Walking Dead showrunning buddies of course. The material is there for a horror / comedy. I'd go anyway!
  17. I was looking at GPA and saw a New Mutants #98 9.8 Blue just sold for $2575 No disrespect to the buyer (and well done seller!) - but there are heaps out there for $1400+ less What's the highest outlier that you have seen recently. I know comics are 'hot' but that's a little, well, high! Any other examples?

    House Of M

Annnd a very enjoyable afternoon was just spent with Avengers Disassembled and House Of M Son Of M next or something inbetween? Damn good stories - is this where WandaVision is heading, an intro to these stories? I assume some years away, as She-Hulk, Jack Of Hearts etc haven't appeared yet. Thanks for the help - a lovely day to spend an hour or two in the garden
  19. You aren't I Australia I was warned in June that it would start in November. I opened bank account for payments, filled the forms in - and nothing. It seems like they have just forgotten about it down here. Mind you ebay Australia is based in the Phillipines and they are all working from home as Covid is terrible over there according to the agents I have spoken to when I need to talk to them.
  20. I just got House of M and Son of M full Graphic Novel runs Before I read them which X-Men / Avengers series should I read first. I know I SHOULD know, but just want to make sure. So to get the most out of House of M - can people suggest the reading order of books leading up to it. How far back should I go? An order of reading list would be appreciated. Dunno why I didn't read this lot at the time - I just never seemed to get around to it Thanks guys
  21. Thanks - be happy with a 9.0 Cost pretty much nothing anyway! Joey will be removing the sticker pre-sub All good thanks guys!
  22. Great idea for a thread @THE_BEYONDER Gotta be this one surely...
  23. Thanks - no idea how to access that info - sold numbers were? Anyone in 'Moderns' have a rough idea? I was trying to compare with Walking Dead #1 - the often quoted figure was around 7500 or so, with roughly 3260 slabbed so far. How right that is, I have no idea.
  24. Of course, sorry. I'm multi-tasking and failing miserably!
