  1. Episode #4 has hit Netflix. Series continues to be very good. Happily surprised.
  2. Book is sold pending payment!
  3. $625, then will close tomorrow if no interest Thanks all
  4. I'm not sure why this hasn't sold - oh well - $660 it is! I don't have much GPA data to help really either. A 5.5 sold in March 2019 for $625 A 9.0 for $1440 last month. I think $660 is pretty reasonable. Oh well. Another option: I have this and a Torchy #6 in 5.5 - maybe a trade for a Torchy #1 , #5, or #6 in 8.0 minimum could be possible. If you have a #6 you want to downgrade - reach out! Thanks!
  5. The rules. Because that's how this works here. 1st by timestamp in PM or thread wins (this is called optimism!) Payment via paypal only in $USD. Payment within 3 days please - if seeking an extention please PM before taking the book. No returns on CGC graded books. If damaged in transit, I will make it right with you, but will be boxed, bubble-wrapped and have cardboard corner protectors. Now postage - international is causing delays so please read guys. USA - Will be sent tracked and insured via Australia Post. There are delays of 8 weeks on top of normal - so expect 8 - 12 weeks. It will most probably be less, but I'm putting it out there as worst case scenario. $40 USD inc insurance. I will cover any extra. UK - As above but up to 10 weeks on top. $45 USD inc insurance. I will cover any extra. Canada - Australia Post have ceased postage to Canada currently, so maybe a USA member can help. Sorry about that. The delays are because Australia have cut flights by 70% to countries with ongoing Coronavirus issues, to protect the airline/postal staff. That's the official line anyway. The last comic I sent was to Texas, and took 8 weeks. Fedex have slapped at $10 surcharge per item for 'handling' - so if you have a FedEx account and wish to use it - there will be a surcharge. For what, I have no idea. It's on their website. You obviously pay them, and I'll take it to their depot Please ensure you insure the book. NZ / Singapore - as the virus is well controlled, postal services are only 7 - 10 days behind - $20 - $25 USD depending on destination (I can get quote if needed - it's mostly the insurance) Australia - $15 USD tracked and insured. Other countries please ask, but it's highly unlikely I will ship there. Please be fully aware of potential delays before purchasing the book. Thanks guys, and apologies, but it's out of my control. Finally - The Book! I've upgraded so I'm selling Torchy #4 CGC 6.5 Off-White Pages Gil Fox has outdone himself with this cover, and art is by Fox and of course, Bill Ward. It presents very well for grade. $725 USD $675 USD $660USD $625 Last drop then closed tomorrow
  6. I agree - the slabbed one is rusty as heck, the raw is shiny. Replaced?
  7. I was pretty clear in the previous thread Karl about why I chose not to continue our conversation. At the time: You had no posts You had no references You would not accept paypal The book I was after was $500 USD book - not a $40 book. My WTB was for a Batman #357 white pages in 9.8 - that was what you offered to sell. It hasn't been a $40 book for a long time - certainly not 2 years ago! So, no - I did not make an offer. I doubt if any boardie would believe that someone would sell a Batman #357 in CGC 9.8 for $40 - especially one with no paypal or posting history. Again, I only posted 2 years ago, after talking to Buzzetta, and then Arch - Arch asked me to post it up, as I had the first hand info. You contacted me, and I declined to do business based on the above. Perhaps it's best to just let this go and enjoy the books you have back,or open a paypal account and start a sales thread. It seems plenty of people would be interested buyers.
  8. @Comics181 That's awesome - great pick-up. I would have loved a GG sig book like that - congrats!
  9. At $1 each or close, why cherry pick? I'd have had a peek, and thrown out an offer for the whole lot. How many bloody Avengers annual #10 do you have now - didn't you grab a whole box last week or something? I've always found sellers to be much easier to deal with if you buy everything - if you pull out some and start a pile, half the time they start running to ebay and ask silly prices. Lesson learn't - never cherry pick Sweet score mate - how much $ in total for those shown?
  10. Surely by 2021 Cinema's will be re-opened in some form. 4 hours of ZS full length JL surely would be better on the big screen? And Gal Gadot - has there ever been an actor better cast than her - she IS Wonder Woman
  11. Gotta love Halo.. Website not updated for a year, $55 per slab (each) minimum five books + $25 a press. $20 gets you a book in a mylar with label only...... Grant Adey still runs it - claims he worked for CGC for years - turns out he only subbed books to CGC from his shop. Fats Comics run 'exclusive' Halo creator signings - yup, that's a comic shop in Ipswich Rd, Annerley, Brisbane - which is just down the street from - *drum roll* - halo's 'office' - situated in Annerley Arcade - 600m away! Also just down the road is 'Comic Empire' which burned down mysteriously this year - owned by Tony Nasser - that happens to be 500m from Halo's 'Offices' https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/rare-comics-worth-thousands-of-dollars-lost-in-brisbane-shop-fire-20200102-p53oao.html Who is - **further drum roll** - Halo's Head Grader! https://au.linkedin.com/in/tony-nasser-53556146 And of course, the kicker is 'Ace Comic Shop', that just happens to have the same address as...................... Halo! Ace Comics & Games 4.5 (236) · Comic book store Annerley Arcade, 18/478 Ipswich Rd Fats Comics 4.8 (32) · Comic book store Fats Comics, 462 Ipswich Rd Halo Certification Pty Ltd 5.0 (4) · Comic book store Shop 13 Annerley Arcade, 478 Ipswich Rd I'm not suggesting anything illegal at all. But don't expect 'objective 3rd party grading' from this lot when they all are entwined like Ivy. Makes PGX look professional by comparison.....

    My collecting Journey

Honest thoughtful journal, which has been a pleasure to read. I hope you continue to collect what you like rather than follow the herd. Best of luck to you, and keep posting, at times, you're quite a funny guy!
  13. I wasn't - it's going on the bay but I didn't want to over-grade it if CGC will hammer it. I'd rather be certain before putting it up. Hopefully someone can clarify it for me Thanks again
  14. Mid cut or miscut? Yeah, I have no idea wether they will hammer it to, as you say, a 5.0, or treat it as a natural defect. The whole book is out of whack. The extra paper is only on the front cover (of course) not on any other pages (see back shot) It makes the book look shabbier which is a shame. Thanks anyway mate.
  15. Looks like a printing mis-cuttting on the front cover. Do CGC allow for this or will it get whacked? I'm calling 7.5 - 8.5 but I need your help with the cover issue Thoughts please? Thanks! PS: writing is with normal pencil so can be erased if someone wants to.
  16. Big mouthed bad guys. They ALL seem to need to tell the 'good guy' what they are going to do - before they do it. It's like they are all James Bond villains!
  17. X-Men fun. Plus assorted marvel and 2 boxes of stuff I haven't looked at yet. Some old, some newer. X-Men, X-Factor, Wolverine,Spidey, Iron Fist, FF etc etc Old Batman small books, TMNT, Dark Horse Nothing flash - 1st cameo Gambit (X-Men annual 14 x 2) plus a solid 9.6 X-Men 266 - 9.8's Jubilee, Psylock, Micronauts 1 X-Force 2 Early X-men 27,35 85,86 99 - 1st Black Tom - pretty much complete 140 - 280 Loads of Predator, Terminator, Aliens mini-series World Adventure Library 1960's Batmans x 4 . 1967 120 piece Batman Jigsaw in container. 15 - 20 TPB's $825 USD About 600 comics in total - and the usual pics!
  18. The point of the thread was wierd drekky books that hit 4.5 or something. Not hot/fast flip books that missed 9.8 by 0.2. I also doubt that those books were subbed by professional full time businesses like yours.
  19. No-one is factoring in the missing part of this. All the examples had been auctioned. A low value, cold book won't have 10 people in a bidding war. A BIN may well attract the one person who wants that book for whatever reason. Slabbed drek will always do better as a BIN than auction.
  20. Well this is the thread for 'em
  21. TV / Movies only really answers this. Avengers - high end Marvel movie series with A grade actors. Individual movies of the characters in the Avengers. Daredevil - Netflix series (although Charlie Cox was great), and some very average Movies, with Electra and Bullseye spin off movies. So Avengers currently. It would be interesting to see what would have happened had the roles been reversed. With the same exposure - an A grade set of actors in a $300,000,000 Daredevil blockbuster may well turn the tables. Pricewise - DD #1 is undervalued - it could, with the right Feige 'push' eventually become a top 10 SA Key. For me, it just scrapes into the top #20 currently. So Avengers #1 - but look out for DD #1 making a run if Feige greenlights it for the MCU in a few years. Great question, and I'm sure a healthy debate will follow!
